what happened in pitt and whats that i smell?

i call at 7pm and ask for the series line which was pitt -145

i ask for 200 on pitt and the clerk says ""100 series max""

WHAT?

even in the most rotten of games the limits are at 500 so i began to wonder

anyways

ny goes up 3-0 immediately and i smell a rat

then i take a nap and wake to pitt winning 5-4????

3 runs in bball is nothing

3 pucks inplayoff hockey is a mountain

anyone see anything odd or irregular outside the pens comeback?

The ice was absolutely horrible, and Pittsburgh got a few good bounces.

The officiating has not been very good or consistent, with the notable dives by Cindy Crosby going unpunished. A phantom call on Straka vs. Crosby put Pittsburgh on the last powerplay that they won the game on. Bettman wants Crosby to advance, and the referees have a different rule book in place for their star.

All that said, the Rangers need to simply play better if they want to advance. The lineup should have a little more pop tomorrow night, with Prucha getting minutes on the second line and Shanahan conserving energy taking 4th line minutes. Sjostrom and Betts with Shanahan would be a good defensive matchup against Crosby, and Renney will have the opportunity to put them out there with the last change at home. Prucha with Avery and Gomez also will have a high motor and lots of scoring ability for a second line.

On the bright side, Lundqvist has been brilliant. He'll have to continue to be for the Rangers to have a shot.

If the Rangers can't get it going with this lineup, the series will be very short.

Loved watching the Habs lose last night.

Things got a little tighter than they shoulda last night after Hatcher decided to ram a guys face into the boards. Philly seems ot do a lot of this, no? I hate what was done to Bergeron, but I'm still pulling for Philly because, after all, we're talking about the Habs here.

Price looks pedestrian at this point. If he had played this way consistently versus the B's, it would be a Philly-Bruins series we'd be watching.

yeah what a stupid penalty hatcher did , they almost tied the game because of it . philly must be the worst team ever with a 2-3 goal lead , EVERY time in these playoffs when they've had a 2 goal lead they always let their opponants back in it . Price is showing he's a rookie , we'll see if he can step it up . and if the B's would of won ,it would of been B's VS the pens .

gotcha, rules, my mistake. point is B's woulda still been playing and Habs would be home, given Price's horrendous display so far in round 2.

f***ing Hollweg man. They score 2 goals to tie it quickly in the second, and then he takes a STUPID double-minor boarding penalty in the offensive zone to kill all the momentum. Gino scores and that's all she wrote.

I really hope the Rangers don't mail it in. One guy who definitely won't is Jaromir Jagr. He could be playing his last NHL game, and he is playing like a man possessed. I hope he keeps playing, because he looks unbelievable.

For a team down 3-0, they sure do look pretty good. I know there aren't very good odds on coming back from this deficit, but it all starts Thursday. Win and then we move on from there. Lundqvist is going to need to step up and play a spectacular game, and the powerplay needs to get going now.

No more excuses, let's just win one.

lots of boarding calls

i been riding detroit thruout the playoffs and seem to be the team to beat

i dont think dallas can hang with them in the west

in the east pitt and philly and i wouldnt count philly out

Lat night it almost seemed as though the Pens could score whenever they wanted. Lundquist looked very average, although his D-men left guys open in the slot at the wrong time. George Larocque looked like a sniper on his goal...but two guys were near him and no one put the body on him.

I'm hoping for a 4-0 second period lead for the Pens in the next game, followed by a stupid, bush-league play by Avery at the beginning of the 3rd period that leads to Avery getting his face punched in by George Larocque in what may well be Avery's last game as a Ranger.

Then a nice mellow remainder of the game so that the Pens can relax and ease into the conference finals.

at some point, Lundqvist needs to come out of his crease and give the Pens' snipers a little less to shoot at. Look at the 4th Pitt goal that Gino scored, Lundqvist is about as far back in his net and you can get, you think Gino isn't good enough to pick a spot? Ridiculous

i see a lot less of these guys coming out than in years past

of course the goalies now are f***ing huge, physical specimens who skate as well as the next guy....

i still think the west is just way better than the east

a much faster game with better passing and more quality players.

I was watching an interview with Fleury after the Pens-Rangers game last night. He still had his leg pads on. The friggin things were immense...I mean ridiculously big. It's tough to tell on the ice how wide they are, but in this interview you could gain more perspective. No wonder there's nothing to shoot at.

Apparently in the off season their going to change the rules regarding the Goalie's equipment , the pads is one of them , they'll be smaller next year

habs got mugged again

the flyers are just moving them around at will creating chaos all over the ice

the broad street bullies sans bobby""colgate smile""clark and my old ex bruin stud reggie leach....we traded leach to the california golden seals for......carol vadnais

vadnais wasnt half bad

leach scored 64 goals in either 75 or 76 and clark won a couple mvps and cups with bernie parent playing hellacious net.

1974 game 7 they beat our homies 1-0 as orr went the penalty box with 2.22 left to play.

ironic how those filthy **********s got the best player ever off the ice in the last minutes of game 7....i hate kate smith

Les Habitants are playing like Les Pussies right now.

Only a few, IMO, have shown they're willing to pay the price. Meanwhile, the Flyers are just the opposite, with everyone going to the wall.

Such a shame.

Interestingly, an article in the Montreal Gazette a couple of days ago mentioned that Boston Bruins season ticket sales are up already. The writer thought it important to mention that this would mean less tix for the throngs of Montreal fans who invaded Boston during their round 1 of the 2008 playoffs.

We should be so lucky.

I hope the Flyers can close this series in 5 , I'm sick and tired of all the ignorant Habs fan here at work

Also I placed a few bets here at work that the Red Wings would go further than the Habs in the playoffs

the canadiens are heading for the door it seems

they too arent built for the long haul and theyre getting mugged by this philly team

I attirubte this most to Biron's excellent play, he has just shut them down no matter how ridiculous the opportunity, that and Umberger's just gettin everything in right now.

We're not dead yet. Jaromir Jagr is playing like a man possessed. I haven't seen him this dominant since the year he scored 54 goals out of the lockout. Completely unstoppable.

Huge save by Henrik on the penalty shot vs. Malkin. Great game by him, period.

I still feel good about this series. I mean, karma owes me one anyway after '04. This Ranger team has played much better than a typical team down 3-1. I think they can win Sunday and force a Game 6.

detroit isnt as close to a lock as the patriots were in february but ahhh

ahem....

i like them to win it all rather easily as colorado i felt was possibly a team that could stop em....they go down 4-0 and like sheep in game 4....

8 f***ing goals in a playoff game?

i dont recall that in recent memory

Detroit put on a hell of a clinic. Hard not to imagine an extremely entertaining Detroit vs. Pittsburgh final at this point
