I heard a qoute from A-rod on ESPN today about Papi's postseason performance... Saying he was always a good hitter in Minnesota but he got better in the Post-season...

He mentioned something like "everytime he was up he seemed to hit a homer..." (not exact qoute but close enough) and he used words like "Bizzare" and "Weird" to describe his performances.......

In MY eyes, this is A-Rod doing 1 of 2 things

1) Accusing Papi of taking steroids

2) Being jealous of Papi coming through in the big game and him not having a ring yet

What do you guys think???

Ok I think were taking that too far. During the all star game when tek was asked if it was wierd to be in the same lockeroom as him since the fight and tek said it was akward. When arod was asked he said no he's close to everyone in there.

I think you are seeing way to much into that quote. I think he was just marvelling at how Ortiz is able to perform in clutch situations. As in, it's pretty "weird" that the pressure doesn't get to him.

According to you guys A-Rod can't win. If he says something against a team your saying he is just trying to stir something up and should just shut up and play the games, but if he says something good about someone on another team you believe there is a deeper meaning behind it. So what do you want him to do?! If you have a problem with everything he says then just don't listen. He was only trying to complement Ortiz!

That's a pathetic compliment if he's trying to give one. For instance: "the way yeszir preforms his dominatrix acts with ARod2212 is so good, it's weird" is not giving credit to yeszir for his acts of greatness.

OK GOSH...It just seemed to me that he could have used different words (like ones that aren't used when someone NORMALLY wants to stir up trouble) to describe how Papi's performance was. Maybe he was complimenting him.....but Im not convinved

Huh. A-Rod is capable of forming coherent sentences? I figured he just fell out of a sticky fluid filled pod in Stienbrenners basement somewhere.

Who cares what he 'said' about Ortiz?

If it was a thinly veiled insult, hes a jealous douchebag with no class.

If it was a compliment, fine. Who cares? The Sox dont need anyones confirmation of greatness, least of all A-Hole's.

In my eyes, you are insane.

It has nothing to do with accusations or jealousy, simply respect for Ortiz having an unreal postseason.

Can't even take a f***ing compliment..

how could you believe anything out of his fake ass mouth. they ask varitek if it is weird being in the same locker room with a-bitch and he says of course a little, he fought the guy last year for hell sakes. they ask a-bitch the same thing and he says no im cool with everyone in there. enough of his PR ********. why cant he ever just say it like it is. he likes to pump jeter on thursdays and sundays.

See, you had me till the last, totally unessecary, sentence. Youre a total and complete fool. Go home. :thumbdown :thumbdown

Mr. Rodriguez has a Papi Complex. That's the bottom line. He has Papi nightmares and wakes up in a cold sweat in a foetal position with his thumb in his mouth. He has panic attacks on the toilet, thinking a Papi home run ball is going to come up from the sewer and stretch his sphincter. When he is applying his Ponds Cream and Max Factor Waterproof Mascara, he hallucinates and sees Papi in the mirror looking over his shoulder with a silly-ass grin. He cannot escape Senor Papi. Papi lives in Alex Rodriguez's head.

Whenever Arod steps up to bat, the chant from the stands shall be "Who's Your Papi".

i mix it up a little. i cant be serious all the time on the message board. besides you have to agree those purple lips are a little suspicious. here you go "youkofthenation." alexander rodriguez is one of the top 3 hitters in all of the majors today. he is an above average 3rd basemen with speed and smarts on the bases. overall debatable as the best player in the game. his PR nonesense wears me down. how can this guy always be so fake. they ask varitek if it is weird being in the same locker room with a-bitch and he says of course a little, he fought the guy last year for hell sakes. they ask a-bitch the same thing and he says no im cool with everyone in there. enough of his PR ********. why cant he ever just say it like it is. that is why i like guys like schilling, clemens (although he is an ass at least he calls it how he sees it), the list is short on guys like that. on top of all that about alexander rodriguez he is a yankee and its hard not to curse and say the word yankee in the same sentence. so if you are offended about the last sentence get over it. its a message board!

Why is it that the first yankee to chime in is on a post about A-Rod is always speaking as if offended. Like we made fun of your mom or something man. If someone said something that is false or out of line 9 times out of 10 we (other Red Sox fans) will take care of it. You dont have to get all defensive about it.

Obviously people look way too far into quotes by A-Rod, but don't be surprised about it when it happens. Especially if it's a Red Sox fan that is speaking on it. This is exactly why all Yankees fans should be gathered up and put on a secluded island somewhere. They can't play well with others.

So true, Derek. The Sox sure don't need confirmation of anyone's greatness. Why does this sound strange coming from a lifelong Yankees fan, you may ask? Well, the fact is, as great as the Sox were in pulling off probably the biggest upset ever in the playoffs last year, then going on to win the series against heavily favored St. Louis, that the Red Sox were great for a little while, a few brief weeks. That's all. Nothing more. We're talking the current Sox team here. I don't deny you guys have had some pretty awesome teams over the years, albeit teams that couldn't win a World Series to save their lives for 87 years. A-Rod can not yet talk about being a champion, but he will be. It's just a fact. Sometimes he opens his mouth a bit out of turn on various issues, sure. I'm 36 now, and if I live the normal life-span of a male, I don't think I'll see the Sox win 5 more World Series. The Red Sox have no long-term greatness. The Yankees consistently do. So if it makes Sox fans feel better to criticize A-Rod for what admittedly a back-handed complement, go ahead. Congrats on last year's win, I hope the image stays in your mind forever.

I've heard about this too. He said on WFAN that he likes to double date (Jeter being his) with Bert and Ernie, the other famous gay couple.

Read it again buddy, it was about LAST OCTOBER!!! "It's just a fact that A-Rod will be a champion"....HOW SO????? He hasn't won yet, what makes it a fact...because hes a Yankee??? Well, I know how you Yankee fans feel, "It's our God given right to be in the World Series every year and we can talk s*** all we want because we always win" I hate to break it to you but just because hes a Yankee DOES NOT mean hes a "guaranteed champion"!!! And until he stops slapping baseballs out of players gloves and actually wins a playoff game correctly, shut your mouth and go back to New York

i dont know where you were last october, but everyone favored the Sox to win it, regardless of STL being the best team in baseball last year.

I don't give a crap A-Rod is a moron, bottom line.

would he still be a moron had Theo and John Henry went the "extra mile" and gotten him into Boston 2 winters ago. Thats one of the main things i hate about Sox fans, theyre so f***ing undecided, first youre throwing it in our faces how youre gonna have a better SS, then when you dont get him hes the f***in worst person in the world, but had you gotten him there would be no negativity toward him on the part of Sox fans. Its NOT HIS FAULT that hes not in Boston right now, just like ITS NOT HIS FAULT that hes in NY right now, he was apprached with proposal to move to 3rd to play on a winning team, something he wanted to do, so he decided to move to third, he didnt say "i want to go to the Yankees". So why dont you guys just f***ingg lay off him because we all know if he was in Red Socks right now it would be a f***ing A-Rod lovefest in here.
