In my eyes, you are insane.

It has nothing to do with accusations or jealousy, simply respect for Ortiz having an unreal postseason.

Can't even take a f***ing compliment..

I totally agree with you!

Can your posts please have more substance than, "I AGREE WITH YOU A-ROD ROX MY SOX SJDG NAJGSAK" or "I'M HIS THERAPIST LAY OFF A-ROD PLZ PLZ PLZ!!!!"...you're on a Red Sox forum, where we are here to talk baseball. Please leave if you will not do that, or leave by force. The petition to ban you is in process, should be completed soon enough :D

Thank you. Something needed to be said.

we can bash a-rod as much as we want. you know alex is gay so stop trying to suck his dick.

That sums up this thread.

Like I said earlier, I've heard the man give a compliment to other people (Torre, Jeter, etc.) and this was NOT one.

Oh, I am so sorry. I didn't realize this was actually you Mr. Rodriguez.

And who made you the authority on people giving compliments??? <_ i mean fuck if he meant it as a compliment wasn say like is one. how many people use words or to describe an act of greatness src="//d1mqtyoopj0gsc.cloudfront.net/emoticons/default_blink.png" alt=""> I can't wait for your response, because I know what the truth is. But you go on and keep your Yankee bais thinking that A-Rod does no wrong and he was being nice...Ill just stick to the facts

If you think Bonds-like is a shot at Ortiz, think what you want. Bonds had one of the all-time greatest post seasons offensively and for him to compare Ortiz to this future HoF'er and almost postseason hero is as much of a compliment as you can get. As much as you can hate Barry and bring up his use of steroids, he still performed beyond any level one could imagine during a certain period.

When Schilling was commenting, he once mentioned the only player to hit 40-40 without steroids was Alex Rodriguez, he said he was a freak of nature. But I didn't s*** my pants and run to the computer to make a thread saying Schill called him a freak, because he meant it as a compliment. A strange one, but it was a compliment nonetheless. So to accuse Alex of automatically insulting Ortiz, especially since the last thing A-Rod wants to do is start another Red Sox confrontation, is just ridiuclous, because he was complimenting him.

...and my Yankee bias doesn't exist. I don't think A-Rod can do no wrong. I am as objective as a fan as you can find, but the Boston media has you believing A-Rod is the devil. Which he is not. When he made this quote he was trying to endear himself closer to the Sox fans by complimenting their golden buy, because there is nothing he desires more than to be liked, as all of you must have realized already.

best moment for me by far was game 7, sox have just won it and are heading to the World Series for first time in 18 years. Sox players are just up there celebrating on the yankees' field, it showed the yankees dugout with arod still being there while everybody is filing back into teh clubhouse. The look on his face was priceless, a menacing look while walking back and forth. haha

Using "Bonds-like" after an off-season like this past one can bring up some doubts, especially with A-Rod.

If you're trying to say that A-rod is on roids then I think you need a reality check. I hate the guy too but lets not make statements that have no truth to them, just to take a dig at A-rod. A-rod was hitting 40 HRs when he was skin and bones in Seattle. Like I said I hate the guy but don't make false allegations.

Yeah get serious Alex wouldn't take steroids.

I'm not saying that he wouldn't take them. I'm sure if he were a lesser player he may have thought about it, but A-rod is one of the best hitters in the league, and has been for a while. There are 100+ players that I would accuse of steroid use before A-rod

If you are accusing Alex Rodriguez of steroid use I reccomend you see a therapist.

a-f*** is a self centered egomanical pussy who happens to be able to play baseball, however his history includes more intangible problems like destroying team chemistry--steroids i dont think so.

that would be sheffield and giambi.

I watch the Yankees on a daily basis and I have never seen any chemistry problems, especially since chemistry is the biggest load of ********.

Winning breeds chemistry. That is all you need to know.

*sighs* Not winning here...S-T-R-U-G-G-L-I-N-G! Argh. Getting Posada and RJ to face each other - that's why even if Flaherty has no offense, another in-house confrontation is avoided. Barely. <_>

Of course, I also hear A-Rod and Sheff yapping it up about the "adversity" they faced in the first half, and how they're a "closer" team for it. I call it underperforming for 200 mil, but call they can it whatever they want so long as the runs get ringed up.

You guys might not like me too much for this, but oh well - HAPPY 30th, A-Rod!

Now, stat time - where A-Rod stands at age 30, compared to the all-time leader when he was 30:

HRs:

Hank Aaron -342

A-Rod - 409

RBI:

Hank Aaron - 1121

A-Rod - 1176

Hits:

Pete Rose - 1540

A-Rod - 1825

Runs:

Rickey Henderson - 1058

A-Rod - 1197

That does a lot talking. :dunno:

Edit: I should note that this is not the "all-time-leader-AT-age 30" - and production kinda tapered off. But even if I posted THAT list, A-Rod would probably be in the top five. He's number one in HRs.

No doubt A-Rod is on pace to do great things but we can not say what will happen in the future. His body could break down, injuies could happen, really anything can happen.

I don't think anyone here doubts that A-Rod is a great player, I think we just despise his pompus attitude, and how he carries himself.

SHH! Yeah, I know, Griffey Jr. comes to mind. Some people say that if he put the bat down today, he'd be a first-ballot HOF-er.

Didn't bother to read the middle pages, so if I get something wrong, do correct me, but I seem to have glanced at "steroids"?

If he was put in the hall, he'd be only the ten-worst guy or so from a behavior, personality, and ethics standpoint.

*cough* Ty Cobb
