  1. But yes, I don't ever recall hearing Johnny Damon saying he'd never be a Yankee, but if he did, then everything Schill said in his posts is true. Sorry, Schill, I replied before I read your other post. Well, maybe he'll stab the team we all know as the greatest ever in the back someday too. Then Red Sox fans can really be happy again!! Until then, I'm glad he came over from the "Dark Side"
  2. Schill, I don't come on here very often, and when I do I usually only post in spurts. Anyway, I've read many of your posts, and they generally seem very reasonable. Not trying to kiss your butt, but they just do. This one truly baffles me, however. I know it hurts losing Damon, especially to The Greatest Team in History, but, c'mon, dude, you don't think he's really a dipshit, do you? I mean, for cryin' out loud, every Sox fan on earth was worshipping him like some sort of immortal god before today. Of course, if Jeter ever decided to sign with the Sox, I'd s*** three times and die. That aside, you're right. You can't really blame Boras. If he didn't do the job the athletes pay him to, he'd be out of a job. No worries about losing Damon though. Trust me, as a Yankee fan who isn't blind to the fact that the Yanks need some help, without the Yankees acquiring some quality starters, I don't think you guys have to worry about seeing them win series after series again like they did in the mid-to-late 90's.
  3. Yes, stars can and do win world series. Not always, to be sure, but I know one thing, the Sox had alot of stars on their team when they won it all in 2004.
  4. What does it matter when you guys ever lost a 3-0 lead? 86 years of futility, that's just plain sorry.
  5. Ha ha rooter even as a Yankees fan I'm down with getting back to the topic, even though you had the audacity to make crass comments about my beloved Yanks LOL
  6. Hey JB, you definitley DO have a point. I'm just saying, he'd be a fool if he is and if he gets caught, the Yanks need to get rid of him, pronto, since that would have made his whole apolgy thing a bunch of BS. Now, I can't say for sure because obviously I don't know any Red Sox personally, but something tells me they haven't always been a steroid-free clubhouse either. I'm not even saying anyone is on them right now on the Sox, but, c'mon, bro, steroids are so rampant throughout baseball I'm sure the Yankees, Bonds and Palmero aren't the only ones who may be doing them (allegedly, as Jim Rome would say haha!)
  7. Well, true enough, he DID play incredibly late in the season. However, with the current atmosphere surrounding the steroids scandal, he'd be a fool to be juicing again. I mean, the guy does have talent, for cryin out loud.
  8. Well, five years is nothing compared to the former streak you guys suffered, but yep, one year is better than five.
  9. Wow, Hammer, you sound so bitter! I thought some of the bitterness mught be gone after the WS victory last year. Red Sox and Yankee fans will always share a common hatred of each others team, sure. But the bitterness I don't understand. Yep, Jason Giambi was definitley on the juice, but if you look at him now and think he still is, that's ignorant.
  10. rooter, my man, that has to be the silliest thing I've ever heard lol! I think what you meant to say is some 5 year old kid in New York is slleping easy knowing the next Yankees World Series victory is coming very, very soon. 5 years in not along time compared to the time you guys suffered. And trust me, the Yanks will never have to wait THAT long. But, before you think I'm some half-crazed fan, I can't do anything but admit 1 year is better than 5.
  11. Yep, City, and if they do, any manager in his right mind wouuld give it to a position player over a DH with similar stats.
  12. You're right, he didn't carry the yanks by himself, but he was a big part of it. And if it came down to AROD and Papi, you have to give it to the position player over a DH anyday.
  13. Man, tek, what a mean guy you are!! I hope your advice is for Sox fan and not for me, or my fellow Yankee fans. You Red Sox fans sure are funny!!
