  1. Boy wouldn’t all the depth arms we had that Breslow traded away come in handy this year?
  2. I had no issue with him at 3b. Frustrating for sure. He made some crazy good plays then kicked the pooch on some routine stuff. The whole situation was botched from the start and went south very quickly. could have even avoided. overall I don’t care that he’s gone and didn’t think he deserved that big deal anyway.
  3. Nobody wanted Breslow to give him his wishes, but just have enough respect to make him aware of what their plans were beforehand. He may have acted different if he wasn’t treated like he was. I’m NOT all on Devers side because of how he responded, as he should have taken the high road. I was ok with trading him, just not the way they went about it. It was kind of shady.
  4. Same here. He’s apathetic with players and doesn’t feel he owes them anything. He showed Devers no respect by stating that he wasn’t the one who gave him that deal so basically he doesn’t give a s*** what was promised or said to him. Cold. all he had to do was inform him of their plans beforehand. Just a little respect to the guy they just named the face of the franchise and gave 300m. Whether it was his deal or not. He’s a smug little twerp who I don’t trust at the wheel of this ship.
  5. Any suggestions? I’d love a big bat in the minors. We had Tibbs, who’s looking pretty good in LA.
  6. So, does anyone think that after a four game series with a beat up Yankees team, it has changed the view from sellers to buyers? I really don’t, but I’ll play along with the buyers view… if Breslow decides to be buyers because of this series he would have to acquire a legit bat and bullpen help. I would actually look for a second closer. Anything short of getting those two needed parts to be legit WS contenders,a we need to sell and look to the future…Like I believe we still should. be prepared to lose a LOT of good prospects for short term fixes. After all, it’s the trade deadline. Im just not sure we are legit contenders without those parts, so it’s one or the other. I don’t think with so many teams who are already better, are looking to improve further, and are willing to open the wallet and let go the players to do it, that we would stand a chance bidding against some of those teams. I don’t think our owner is willing to go that far. Will Crochet be the same when he returns? Will Tolle and Early be able to handle the workload? Bennett is on a strict innings and pitch count this year, so he won’t be on the roster, and Breslow traded away all our pitching depth…i love seeing them play with some passion, but still, I just don’t think this is the Sox year to go all in. Not yet anyway. I’m not convinced after one good series.
  7. They’ll have to win at a 590 % the rest of the way just to get to 500. They should have absorbed the injuries better if the team was constructed better. Pitching has been fine without GC, but the offense was too reliant on returning injured guys, replacement level players and young and unproven “kids” mostly. That’s a terrible game plan. he will have a very short leash at the deadline, but He may not survive the offseason.
  8. Dude can not admit he created a very unbalanced roster relying mostly on 1-2 year young men.
  9. Kid had to go outside the org. To get fixed because the 20somethings they have as coaches have a one size fits all approach…can we get some guys that have actual MLB experience to coach and have completed their 20,s?
  10. Can we trade Mayer at the deadline too? This kid has been a complete bust. Not much value but he’s friggin useless…
  11. To be honest, I haven’t dug too deep into them. Thanks for the info. didn’t Campbell have an unconventional swing?
  12. Officially the worst team in the American League. That’s pretty sad.
  13. Doesn’t seem that way with various reports coming out last year. Not many GMs wanted to deal with him. I remember one sayid it always seemed like he was trying to “win” the trade. the best trade is when both sides win.
  14. Guerrero I disagree on. If he keeps rolling along someone will give up something good. Not top prospect good but better than the guys you listed him with. Late innings 103 with control is BIG at the deadline duran seems better suited for an offseason trade. Breslow missed on trading him last year because he overvalued him. He’s not having a great year. We’ll see on him. and as I write this, Guerrero, along with an error and excuse me hit gives up a couple runs…thanks Marcelo
  15. I figured we’d go either 3-3 or 4-2 on this road trip based on the teams we’re playing and the fact we’re better on the road (500). the more I watch Suarez the more I like this dude. Very balanced out there. Knows how to pitch and can not only control the zone but command all his pitches on most nights.
  16. My first ask to be in a deal from each team for either player (Gray/Chapman) some prospects I’d keep, and some I’d flip this winter… From the Cards - Catcher Rainiel Rodriguez Atlanta - SS/2b Tate Southisene CHC - OF Ethan Conrad or SP Jaxon Wiggins Brewers - I’d ask for Made (probably get hung up on ) then promptly call back and settle on Jett or Pratt. These are just some off the top suggestions. I want top 10 prospects that we can either flip or fill in somewhere.
  17. What teams would be top buyers for gray and Chapman? ATL? CHC? Brew Crew? cards? what would be a realistic return with more than a couple teams that should be interested?
  18. With two more years of control at a reasonable rate Duran will have plenty of suitors for his services. Bad start but overall he’s a good ball player that a lot of teams would love to have.
  19. Breslow got rid of all our depth and possible rotation help. Threes no way to defend losing 5-6 arms that could help in some way. Especially knowing how many pitchers can go down in one year.
  20. Alonso will be better than Contreras by years end. Already has more HR and just got warmed up last month. He’ll end up with his yearly averages again. I’m good without Bregman too.
  21. MVP just told me that Bennett is on a strict pitch count this year after returning from TJS and rehabbing last year. They’re taking it real slow with him. Hasn’t thrown more than 86 pitches in a game this year.
  22. Durbin is more middle IF. Contact speed and gap to gap doubles hitter. True corner guys usually have some power. Also, Harrison wasn’t projected as RP nor were they using him or talking about him in that capacity.
