  1. If a team is right in it and offers a couple top prospects that are MLb ready at positions of need and maybe an AAAA guy to fill RF you have to think about it. some teams get right there and will pay. Maybe not likely, but you just need that one GM…
  2. Ive said I like these players in Boston, but I’ve also said in many posts that I would have to be absolutely overwhelmed, which usually won’t happen, for those 3 to move.
  3. Teams that are right there will usually go a little extra if they can taste that ring.
  4. I sent over the 10 million St. Louis sent over for the buyout. Two year guys and even some other good players who would cost more.. contreras Abreu and Whitlock will be asked about.
  5. The real question is are they willing to strip the farm of all its top prospects to get it done and possibly up the AAV payroll? which wouldn’t make Henry happy…I’m selling everyone on a one year deal and some on two. If they stand pat they have unpaired intellectual development .. but they are definitely not ret**ded
  6. I wouldnt say we’re exactly on the fence yet. We’re still on the selling side, maybe thinking about climbing up the buying fence, but still selling at this point. i don’t think Breslow wants to give up what it would take to be a real WS contender this year. And I don’t think Henry wants to up the AAV payroll.
  7. The Cards gave them $20m. If they have to, send some of that over with him. At least the 10m buyout.
  8. Everything really depends on the return. It would have to be outstanding for Abreu Contreras or Whitlock
  9. Exactly. i like what we’re doing right now, and im not trying to being the local contrarian,…I believe its just too much to ask this year. they better not get rid of Eyanson or Arias. We NEED A BIG RHP in that rotation and Arias looks like the real deal hitting advanced pitching at SS. I really like the Primera kid catching. He’s one to watch the next couple years. I’d trade maybe a couple in the top ten and a bunch from 11-20.
  10. If they make a solid offer for Abreu, I’m all ears.
  11. If we’re sellers, not just Duran, I’m sure it doesn’t matter since we would have already waived the white flag on 2026.
  12. PRETENDERS Currently there are 4 injured starters with no real time table on returns. they have no clue who’s starting this weekend because Breslow traded away all our starting pitching depth. Tolle is over 80ip already and has never gone past 120ip. our best hitter is going away for four games. We are in the easiest part of the schedule and the best team we played, the Yankees, had all their offense injured. we need another big bat…so doesa LOT of teams. we need bullpen help…so does a LOT of teams. we obviously need some starting depth down the stretch. we would have to empty the farm to be a real contender. when are all the starters coming back? when are our young soft azz players going to start playing again? We have a great starter and closer to trade. We also have some other pieces we could trade for a higher price. Whitlock Abreu Contreras i like these guys in Boston but if Breslow is overwhelmed, then you take the deal and you have all offseason until February to figure out 2027(?)…If done correctly, We could acquire the right players to either trade for the players we need this offseason, or keep and be legit contenders in 2027…or whenever we play again.
  13. There’s more talk about being buyers. I’m still not there. we need a lot more than other team that are willing to to spend more and part with more prospects than us. We have too many needs. About to lose our best hitter for 4 games, have 4 starters injured and have zero clue who’s pitching this weekend because Breslow traded all of our needed pitching depth. were doing well against crappy and/injury decimated teams (see Yankees) but let’s not confuse real contenders to pretenders.
  14. Unless the Sox want to empty the farm to compete with the other clubs who are already in a solid position to win it all, need a lot less than the Sox, and are willing to part with a LOT to get that ring, then we need to entertain all offers. there are certain players that will require a huge return, IMO, in order to part with them. Whitlock is one of them. Contreras? if someone’s willing to empty the farm for the best RH bat on the market, then Im all ears. Abreu to a lesser extent. we can use these guys for the next 2+ years but if there’s an offer you can’t refuse… then you don’t.
  15. And that’s why I always try to not approach it as an argument. Doesn’t always happen, but It always helps to understand the POV of the other side.
  16. So we agree on a lot actually. hey, Criswell helped this team out a lot when needed. Don’t disrespect the Crizz😝
  17. It’s what he got back. Not the net gain. More bodies back but less talent. Anderson is useless.so is uberstine and Rivera is a BP arm. his injury guys Sandoval and Oviedo (Criswell loss) were both questionable at the time. Why even trade Preister? Two starters and a reliable middle IFer for 2 AAAA IF utility guys and a soft hitting middle IFer profile playing out of position was dumb. if you think more bodies back is better than more useful talent then I guess you’re right.
  18. Once again, the whole point is having depth. He traded for them, yes, which I mentioned. But then got rid of too much. Speaking of the Oviedo mess, let’s not mention Cooper Criswell who was pretty reliable as a fill in starter or long relief. We paid him 800k then a month later Bres acquired Oviedo and just DFAd Criswell. I remember seeing plenty of other names that could have been. But he chose another depth arm. four Starters are out, Bennett takes one spot. we had plenty of good depth in 24 and 25. We needed it this year. A lot of those names we got back are not better than what we had. Gray Tolle Bennett….do we call Bello back up? Will Sandoval fall apart before or after he’s called up. What a mess. How many of those names you listed we got back will or can help us this year? How many are on the 40-man?
  19. Dude, I’d take Shane Drohan, the other starter in that deal…he looks good this year too. Not as good obviously but we can’t be oo choosy at this point. Might as well give Eyanson a shot
  20. I remember a year or two ago and we had more pitching depth than we could handle. Now we have a bunch of oft injured guys Breslow was counting on while he shipped every lest bit of depth we had. One smart move was Bennett. At least he replaced what he traded. I can see a couple deals he made were ok, but to trade almost every one of them was absolutely stupid. And NO, Caleb Durbin and two AAAA middle infielders was not worth Harrison Drohan and Hamilton. Preister was traded for nothing and no reason. I’m still mad about that. its not that I thought they would all turn out to be studs. It the fact we needed pitching depth before the season and now we REALLY REALLY need it with Suarez and his groin, and don’t have it. Thanks Bres… Under qualified and in over his head. Made some decent trades and threw a lot of it away.
  21. I guess Ranger won’t be at the ASG with a groin injury now…sucks
  22. I never laughed so hard. you guys were priceless. I almost wish he was here. He was harmless and very entertaining
  23. Might have been me..haha. I remember him sending me DMs to discuss topics. He was rather cordial in that arena, but when we were back on the forum it was business as usual…
