  1. I think sale could throw to either guy. Leon had the immediate better feel for Sale, but doesnt mean he cant pitch to vaz. Its not the pitch selection with Sale so much as it is HIS command of his pitches that day and his velocity nowadays. Sale is at an age where transitioning to “pitching” may be in the beginning stages. Lester went through it, And Price just did the last year or two. No more 98 in your back pocket. Sale still gets it up close to that, but on a less consistent basis. He may (is ) have a rough year, but i think he will be fine overall.
  2. With Mookies mediocre season does anyone think he deserves an AS appearance? I dont. Not this year anyway. Not hating, just being realistic.
  3. ;)But of course, I wouldn't have it any other way
  4. Thanks buddy!!! Hope you and the rest of the gang are doing well😎🤙⚾️
  5. So good to watch Vaz becoming the AS catcher he's capable of being. IMO, He def deserves an AS appearance. First the TJS then the hand injury slowed him down the last couple years. Now that he's healthy were now starting to see how valuable his bat can be with regular ABs.
  6. Sale Pom Erod with price coming in early if needed
  7. Thanks kimmi 😊 When i saw him in AA the year they told him to pay more attention to offense, his BB went up and the Ks went down. Took more pitches and usually made solid contact. Add in the passion hes has for the game and position and who he works with in the off season (Jose Molina) and i saw a great all around catcher in the making. Of course his was just an opinion, but he had that “IT” factor that made him stand out...to me anyway. So happy to see him back to full speed this year and able to help the Sox on BOTH sides of the game. I still believe hes a 280 320 400 hitter moving forward. Looks like were about to clinch the division GO SOX!!!
  8. They have the $$, they had a solid draft, it would appear, this year. Which says we have some decent scouting. And we have a young nucleus. I dont see any window really. This organization is set up really good IMO. If we need a FA, we can go get one. Need to go ovee the LT for a year or two? No problem...We will know a little more next year about this years draftees, but it looks to be a couple standouts in there with a little development. Also we can make trades. I really kinda laugh with all this window talk. Do you guys think that a multi billion dollar organization doesnt have A more detailed immediate short term plan, and a more generalized longer term plan? How well the immediate plan goes isually determines the longer one to some extent. So far, so good on all fronts from where Im sitting.
  9. I just said i didnt like the price deal. No need to be that emotional with your text. I never thought he would be a good fit here and he really isnt. I think overall he's been a bust considering his pay and expectations. If you disagree then fine, but thats my opinion on him. Pablo should have NEVER been signed IMHO. And EVERYONE knew about his weight issues. I said it when it happened and ill say it now. BOTH were dumb. But i understand when ownership needs a splash. I get it. Still Didnt make it a smart move IMO. Relying on Panda was the problem I had, not so much Thornburgs injury. To me anyway, that was the issue. But honestly trading Shaw didnt bother me as much as the Panda and Price signings because devers wasnt that far out from Boston and relief pitchers are relief pitchers...unless their closers. Once again, like I said...Overall Dom has done a good job. So please understand and Dont think im gonna like every move that he or any GM makes. I had valid reasons for my concerns with those deals.
  10. One truly bad move by DD was Shaw and Price. giving Panda the job when devers wasnt quite ready yet. Its worked iut good thank god. I didnt care for the price deal. Just dumb. Although i can understand because of his ALEast experience and he looked great. His artitude needs to change here though. Oh and maybe he could pitcj good too for 30m per... i doubt anyone thought hes look this terrible. Id say overall he's done a good job so far...i dont like Farrell but Ill give him some credit too this year. Not as many head scratchers.good for him. The lineup on paper before the season looked good. 90 win team, and seeing were in 1st place with a solid record, im not really seeing what all the complaining is about... Pom has looked great while Anderson wont throw until late 2018 or 2019. Kimbrel is the best close in the league. Dom has done MUCH better than Ben, and if the players in his 1st draft start making their way to boston over the next 2-3 years (looks like a couple keepers in the group) he will get another good grade by me.
  11. "He's likely to "come down to earth" at some poinT" -Moon Come down to earth? Hes been pretty consistent. His offensive game is getting better every year as long as Farrell gives him the bulk of the load. Do I believe hes a 280 hitter? Yes, ive said it for a coulle years now. Coming back to earth was leon. Vaz can hang where hes at 280 320 400. I think those numbers were what I thought he was capable of. His bat is better than most people still believe apparently...
  12. Im not giving up what it would cost to get him...no way no how...we have an amazing core of players and theres no need to ruin that....
  13. Personally I think Price is an entitled whiny crybaby...hes been "the 'man" since he was young...thru HS and then at Vanderbuilt, where he was lived and their star player...gets to TB and its the same thing. #1 draft pick...Price can do no wrong...comes to boston where we LOVE baseball and the Sox. Doesnt matter what youve done before, it matters what you do here...he looked terrible and we let him know it...God forbid you say something negative about this fn pussy. The whole "im sticking up for my teammates" excuse with the Eck incident is so much ******** it makes me sick...he was pissed at Eck for his criticism of his own pitching, not Erod. Who by the way DID had a terrible line in his rehab. "yuck" was mild describing it...price may have some issue with that arm but id bet the guy is also just taking time off because hes got so much heat on him and his ego cant hamdle it...if he needs TJS then get it and be done with this team. Waste of $$...hopefully he ops out and NEVER wears the sox uni again....we obviously dont need him.
  14. Vazquez keeps hitting. I hope fans here dont still consider him a BU catcher. His bat was and has been better than leon. He just needed to be handed the keysby Farrell. Hopefully the clown in charge will keep Vaz as the main guy
  15. AS a full time catcher Vaz will show his offense, leadership and all around game. He should be our main starter.
  16. Ill start by saying that the red sox were always on the tv/radio at my house, my grandmothers house, my friends houses, etc., so I grew up with them but never really paid too much attention...until one night. I do remember the one game that stood out which made me really start my fandom with these Boston Red Sox...I was young, (5yo) and remember waking up hearing my dad and uncles screaming downstairs. So I got up and I went downstairs to see what was going on. now, sometimes it could get a bit loud and rowdy at my house, so I was prepared for anything. What I saw was them all screaming with excitement, and they all had their arms up in the air. They grabbed me, put a Sox cap on me (so big it covered my face) and pulled me into their victory circle as we all jumped up and down because the sox won. It was pretty cool. I was one of the guys. When the excitiment got somewhat under control, I saw these replays on tv of this big guy on the Sox waving his arms and hopping up and down, kind of like what my dad and uncles were doing...my Uncle kept saying "Pudge is the man!" "hes the man!" ...I saw the ball that this giant of a man hit go over the majestic green wall the kept calling "The Green monstah"...every player and fan at Fenway, and the ones in my living room, were going absolutely balistic. The room smelled like potato chips, pizza, and spilled beer...i couldnt sleep the rest of the night. The Sox just won what felt like the World series...unfortunately very soon after I would learn about something called "The curse of the bambino" And so My 40+ year journey with the Boston Red Sox began...
  17. I liked the trade when it went down. Made sense. Pom had a rough start but seems to be becoming a reliable 2-3 type. Ill take that for an 18yo (now 19) small framed pitcher with promise. Who has been dealing with elbow issues all year. https://www.google.com/amp/www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/padres-anderson-espinoza-playing-catch-in-arizona/amp/ The trade I was opposed to all year, and even said it on this forum that it was DD's worst move, was travis shaw. Just handing the job to Pablo was ridiculous. Theres no way Holt or Marrero were getting thay FT spot. Just dumb.
  18. Great post...The question is who would we have to give up for Duda or Bruce? Not sure the asking Price, but some power from the left side wouldnt hurt. I imagine since both are rentals for a few months it wouldnt be much. Bruce made 13m and would be about 6-7..Duda made 7.5m and woukd be more around 3-4 for the remainer of the season, keeping the sox under the 9m they have before they go over the LT I would also have to agree with hanley's vesting option. I dont want that to happen. The guy looks to be a constantly injured sinking ship who wont play in the field anymore collecting a LOT of $$$
  19. Im not a fan of Farrell, but besides a couple head scratchers, overall hes done a good enough jjob with the management of the game this year...performance and injury by the players has been the issue. hopefully he doesnt lose the backing of his players.
  20. Swiharts defense and all around catching game needs to improve. If not he will cost us more runs than his bat will produce to justify it. Kids' bat has NEVER been in question. His D is not good. If the D doesnt improve a lot this year, Id move him off catcher or trade him. Im worries that his body will break down easier behind the plate, especially with that leg/foot injury in Boston.
  21. Vaz has looked great with the bat. His accuracy has not fully returned it seems with guys running...I hope its not permanent. Either way, hes taken over as the #1 catcher and he earned it. Obviously the bat wont stay at 350, but I believe, just like I said in my original post, that Vaz can be a 280 hitter in MLB. With his great D and work with the pitchers Vaz should remain "The Man" behind he dish in Boston...
  22. Is he over here now? LOL The name seemed ofd
  23. Hopefully when Betts bogey and Hanley return
  24. Im without tv for a bit and can only catch the games on weei...apparently I missed something yesterday where there was questikn as to Benintendis throwing ability, or lack there of, with Iggy running?
  25. Price is too worried about what everyone thinks of him. Seems like a whiny spoiled kid. Needs to stay off social media and just STFU and pitch...he talks too much
