    I agree, a bat and a starter. We don’t need Skubal. Early is throwing at 75ft so it looks like sometime in August for him could be realistic. Maybe Peralta or that type? Not sure who will be available for some more Hr power. I just don’t want a guy who either hits bombs or Ks. May be a vet who’s been there before.

    Id like that 1-2-3 as well. Right now it’s only gray and Suarez. Even if Crochet makes it back, he’s been out for a while and will definitely have to ramp it up again. That may go into September. He hasn’t even thrown a real baseball yet from what I understand. Early is throwing from 75ft, so that’s good. He should be back in August sometime as long as that elbow doesn’t start barking again. it’s the uncertainty with those two that has be a little concerned, as well as the other twos IP limits. its why I’d like an insurance policy down the stretch. Not a Skubal, which is why I mentioned a guy like Peralta or someone similar.

    I meant our original starting 5. Early will be back.(I just saw He’s throwing from 75 feet right now) that’s good. . Suarez within a couple weeks. I doubt we see Crochet for a while. if they go for it I still want a starter like we did with Jake Peavy, to eat some innngs to get through sept. Help with Tolle and Bennett IP limits…Peralta? I also would like a bat with some power behind it. 1-2 punch with Contreras.

    That’s why I’d just sell. To me, if we’re going to really compete for a WS ring, we need a bat and a starter. That’ll cost what I said it would which is why I’d sell. I mean, I’d make a trade for the future at the deadline if it made sense. Anything significant will cost one or both of Arias and Eyanson. Early would be an offseason sell since he’s hurt. But I’m keeping him. whitherspoon Gonzo and Phillips are not as far along as the other two. Maybe they finish strong and their value goes up a little for an offseason move.

    if they decide to go for it the We absolutely will need a starter and a big bat, so yea absolutely EVERY prospect is available . Our rotation is decimated and that was our strong point. Pitching wins games in the playoffs. Count on Gray and Suarez to be playoff starters. Everyone else is questionable. If I was all in in 2026, I’d go for a top starter and a BIg bat. Wipe out a good part of the top 10 in the farm system.

    Crochet hasn’t even thrown a baseball yet. He’ll have to do that, then a long toss for a bit, and if no setbacks, maybe tick it up a little. He will have been out for a few months and people think he’s coming back a ball of fire? He’s got to ramp that arm back up again like spring training. Same with Early, who I believe is behind that’s timeline. Hopefully that forearm isn’t more than they think.. Tolle and Bennett will be non factors for the playoffs due to IP limits. Bello is Bello and Sandoval? Sure thing. I really like our chances in 2027 and beyond. But let’s be realistic about our rotation.we would need a starter and a big bat and hope to God Crochet can make it back AND pitch like an Ace. We also have a couple more game without Suarez as long as that groin heals good. there are team already better than us who will definitely be upgrading as well. I’m just not sure this is our year to sell the farm to go for it.

    They better give Roman a 1b mit at some point because it’s either there or DH in the future for him. The OF will be only if needed. Arias has been looking more and more like the real deal this year against advanced pitching. AAA call up soon.

    I chose pretenders so I focused on that. I loved watching them on that streak. Maybe I didn’t mention enough positive stuff, and there is plenty. But I was hearing all about buying at the deadline after this run and I still think that would be a big mistake. Which is why I made this thread. My main focus was why we shouldn’t buy and no so much on the more positive things. overall I really like the pitching, a few good prospects we got in the organization. Drafting has been good as well. if done correctly, 2027, or whenever they play ball again, should be the start of a long run being real contenders. Not pretenders.

    Kind of. Usually at 27 the odds are he is mostly what he is. Which was the main point. 6-7 years in pro ball is still a lot. He switched positions, but I still think he’s a AAAA player… I hope he proves me wrong

    Dude I was a year or so off. The dude is a AAAA player right now. Could he become something more? Probably, but I would guess not much. He’s a good player who’s a replacement guy at 27.

    We may need an extra dependable arm down the stretch with Tolle and Bennett almost at last years ip totals already,… think Jake Peavey in 2013. Not a Skubal but the next tier.

    So he became a utility guy 3-4 years ago? He does not remind me of a catcher. I like the dude. I’m just seeing another 250-260 streaky hitter with some pop in his bat who can play multiple positions. I hope he proves me wrong and becomes more than just that. I miss 280-300ba 30hr 100 rbi we need a couple of those again.

    Seigler was drafted in. 2018 23rd by NYY. He’s a AAAA at this point unless he’s a really late bloomer. Hasn’t done a whole lot the last 9 years since he was drafted.

    If they were to trade for a couple players Peralta and Pena would be good choices. they should sell. I’m just playing along.

    Not sure I’d pay anyone beside Ohtani that much money. At least between tv and merch, Ohtanis deal is already paid for itself. It would be a 4/204 deal if he opts out in 2030. If it’s a salary dump what would we have to give up in prospects if we took on that whole deal? We will drop payroll by over 50m by the end of 2027 with story and Yoshida off the books. Probably Duran by then too, which is another 8-10m saved. ill talk to The Os, if they’re out of it, on Alonso. Take that whole deal and send back a couple 11-20 prospects. If they are getting rid of these guys it’s for salary reasons. Both would have 4 years left. One 51m per and the other is 31m id rather go with Alonso. The deals over in four years. If Soto got hurt he won’t opt out. I don’t want to chance having to pay some dude 51m per for 13 more year until he’s 40. No thanks.

    Breslow can’t look to “Win” the trade. The best trades are usually the ones where both win. Both teams got what they wanted and needed and were happy with what they sent packing for the return.
