  1. i could care less that he is gone too but the issue is they have not come close to replacing his power
  2. Romy and Dham fit the budget alright
  3. Forget about Bregman. He's all about the $$ and not worth a 4-5 yr deal. Put the faith in Mayer.
  4. no i don't have faith that either of those 2 are ready to replace Bello YET. Maybe one day but why doesn't the tightwad simply open his damn wallet and spend a bit to fill the holes. As I said Donovan is a decent 2B but not a needle mover. WHEN WHEN WHEN do we spend the $$ saved on the Devers DUMP.??
  5. now the hunt seems be for Donovan for 2B. A decent player but most importantly comes on a lower end salary. Let's give them our #2/3 SP
  6. NO--the fact of the matter is because JH refuses to allow CB to spend on the FA market he has to trade away quality assets to fill the holes with less costly players than what is in the FA market. Now according to MLBTR it looks like we might trade Bello to St Louis for Donovan to play 2B. This would be insane IMO.
  7. sometimes other than keeping costs down I am not sure they do either
  8. they want a 1 or MAYBE 2 year deal.
  9. He was not a good teammate there is no doubt. But the team created a lot of the drama on how they treated him and now they don't have either him or Bregman . Before Bregman arrived there were no real noticeable attitude issues with Raffy. I believe that the Devers situation simply allowed JH to get out from a contract he only agreed to after letting XB get away for nothing as RSN was in an uproar over that.
  10. who suggested we only focus on 2026 alone ?? Secondly why would we basically punt on 2026 for a better 2027 or beyond?? I seem to recall JH on more than one occasion saying the goal was to compete for a WS EVERY year. If we are not going for it in 2026 just tell and we won't have to watch or buy tickets.
  11. i got the quote from an article on MLBTR . I guess you are not as smart as I thought you were. But don't worry the Sox will sign for of the M/L type FA's.
  12. The thing that pi$$es me and many other fans off is how it seems we are always in on these top FA’s. But somehow always fall short and end up with plan B on much less costly deals"
  13. Joe if you are as smart as I tank you are you know what I mean.
  14. I am really getting weary of people just stating how much the payroll IS. The real fact of the matter is that costs are going up and the Sox were once in the top 3-4 in payroll and are now somewhere between 8-12. That is what has fans upset. Revenues are huge for JH but he seems content to spend just enough to keep the Sox around 85- 90 wins but not enough to be a serious WS contender despite numerous times that his goal is for the Sox to be a WS contender EVERY year. That certainly has not happened .
  15. In general the Sox have never seemed to prioritize pitching but it does seem that CB is trying to change that. A true #2 SP likely costs more that Jh is willing to allow Breslow to spend.. Since DD was fired the Sox have always gone with the lower cost option and that is not going to change soon..
  16. we will win 88-92 again this year but not come close to a WS. Everyone knows these trades are for players that cost far less than from the FA market.
  17. Early didn't make this list?
  18. you make it sound like we are a small market team. What about JH saying on more than one occasion that he wanted a team that could compete for a WS EVERY YEAR??
  19. best to hang on to Casas in case someone knocks our socks off with a trade offer. Coneras is only here for 2 years.
  20. Breslow is sure emptying the farm
  21. Minor league deal. They have not signed a single major league contract via FA
  22. Red Sox are the ONLY AL Team to not sign a SINGLE FA and one of only 2 in all of MLB
  23. Gray COULD pitch like a #2 or he may pitch like he did for the NYY several years ago when he was in his prime and it wasn't pretty.
  24. As usual the Sox simply dipped their toe in the water. Just enough to keep us competitive but not enough to truly contend for a WS. But hey we won one almost 8 years ago so what the heck.
