  1. sorry but I don't understand this at all. Correct me if I'm wrong yes Soto is a great player but isn't the OF position where the Sox have the most depth?? Soto also hits LH and it has been well documented that the Sox need RH power. If the Sox do manage to sign Soto it will take a boatload of $$ and what will be left to upgrade the one weakness EVERYONE on this board acknowledges which of course is PITCHING.
  2. 5.59 era last year with a whip just under 1.5. exciting signing
  3. yet apparently we are about to open the vault for the LH Soto. A great player no doubt but OF is already our strongest P of depth. A Soto signing would almost guarantee no significant P additions.
  4. ??? BTW--scratch my idea of Tanner Scott. we just scooped everyone by snagging Justin Wilson on {you guessed it} a 1 year deal
  5. the bargain hunting begins. guessing this is instead of Tanner Scott?
  6. i don't think he that much of a risk. Fried is much older and with many more miles on his wing and will cost FAR more. Sasaki fits Henry's budget and in our window.
  7. don't hold your breath. I am just wondering why Atlanta is not resigning him
  8. and that will make the old miser veery happy indeed lol
  9. I say the Sox miss out on any big FA signings but do add a veteran SP and a BP arm on 1 year deals
  10. I would try to trade for Pirates SP Prospect Bubba Chandler and sign Sasaki and Tanner Scott. Bring back Janssen as a 2nd C.
  11. I don't see Yoshida having much trade value at any point.
  12. Sasaki will be a lot cheaper and until I see Henry open his wallet for top FA'S I won't be holding my breath.
  13. i would rather sign Sasaki. Much cheaper and younger with likely more upside. won't cost a pick either.
  14. Hopefully we are all in on Sasaki who won't cost that much word is the LAD are very interested too.
  15. Hernandez would be nice but it seems he will give the LAD the first crack but nonetheless Sox need to add TOP END SP. Sure hope they are all in on Sasaki.
  16. i still say in Pivtta accepts it will lessen what other pitching moves we make this offseason.
  17. wrong on both accounts
  18. I believe those predictions were made BEFORE the Sox offered arbitration to Pivetta??
  19. i read we offered him arbitration and if he accepts it is a 1 yr deal same if O'Neill had accepted. correct me if i am wrong but i read it on MLBTR
  20. if he accepts our rotation is set
  21. if Pivetta accepts arbitration that pretty much fills up the rotation with Gioloto coming back
  22. you need to go MLBTR a few days back and read the post on Martinez. He took a 4yr deal with opt outs each year and opted out twic although he did resign the first time.. Then he also opted out with the Reds.
  23. just how did my post discriminate against women ??
  24. the perfect recipe for another.500 season
