  1. I can see giving Sandoval a crack, but certainly not a lock. Like I said earlier a lot has changed since he was signed. When he was signed did anyone think Early would be starting a deciding game in the postseason against the Yankees?
  2. I agree. They have put 1 ND game just on Peacock the last few years, and even though I hated missing the game I’m not giving anymore of my money to watch a game.
  3. What has Sandoval done in his career to make him a lock for the rotation? A lot has changed since he was signed, and I don’t see Sandoval much more than a depth piece at this time.
  4. I’m not in much to the stats, and a grade. They’re either a good OF, or they’re not. Even when Duran catches fly ball sometimes the eye test shows you he bumbles, and stumbles around waiting for the ball to come down.
  5. I just think Brez wanted to get rid of Raffy so bad, and SF was willing to take on the whole contract.
  6. Duran regressed back to more like the Butterfly Man this past season.
  7. That I agree on.
  8. I think with Hicks it was more the Giants didn’t like what they saw in him more than Boston liked what they saw in him, and was just an unload for the Giants.
  9. Outside of Crochet, and Bello I’m not assuming any of those other guys healthy, or not will be in the rotation.
  10. I just don’t see the Red Sox going Large, and Long on anyone, so I think something like a Bregman type contract happening.
  11. Being big of body doesn’t help either.
  12. I agree on Mayer that there is NO plan for him having just a bench role next year, and if healthy he will have a starting role anywhere from 3B over to 2B. I would hope it would be at SS with Story sliding over to 2B regardless of what Bregman does. Of course it’s not a certainty that Story stays either. Casas is a different case altogether. If the Red Sox are counting on him, which is far from a certainty I don’t see another expensive 1B being signed, but they definitely need a plan B after a revolving door at 1B the last 3 years.
  13. Better glove than Mayer?
  14. Romy basically played FT the whole second half, because Casas being hurt, and 1B became a revolving door, and Mayer getting hurt opened 2B up more. I know you love the Romy/ DHam, and Ref Man types, and every team needs them, but hopefully not to the extent the Red Sox have needed them the past few years.
  15. Show me where pampering your stars with the greatest seniority doesn’t happen, and what sport. Just, because you thought Story playing SS, and moving Bogey made more sense to you doesn’t mean it was the right move to make, and Cora saw it that way. Just, because you thought Raffy should move to 1B even if Casas was still there, and make Casas the DH doesn’t mean it was the right move to make, and Cora would see it that way.🙈
  16. Enough to see that Bregman, and Story made a lot of bad throws to 1B that you won’t see in any stats. Franchy Strange Glove isn’t there anymore. He was the last great defensive 1Bmen the Red Sox have had.
  17. I can’t see at all the Red Sox thinking Romy is the FT 2B going into 2026.
  18. That’s all they were officially charged with. There were some kind OS along the way, the slew of Red Sox 1B saved them a number of times also.
  19. Not convinced he’d be worth any more than 2 more years either considering the money it would take to keep him.
  20. I don’t think there is Any talk whatsoever amongst the Red Sox brain trust of moving Story to 3B in any circumstance. SS/2B, IL will be his residence if he returns.
  21. Was beating the Red Sox enough for Boone to keep his job, or is he gonzo?
  22. I think Casas had a better chance of being traded, which supposedly the Red Sox tried to do last offseason with Seattle than losing his 1B job to Raffy. If Casas isn’t injured last year I don’t believe there would have been any talk of Raffy at 1B unless Casas completely sucked, and his usual slow start lasted all year.
  23. I don’t think the Red Sox have done it the way they have the past few years of not having more of a set lineup, because they wanted to, but they have needed to due to injuries, and No reliable backups. Story was mostly out for a couple of years, because of injuries, Casas has been out mostly out for a couple years, because of injuries, so there was revolving doors at those two positions, because of it. If Story, and Casas isn’t injured those two positions would be set full time. 2B has also been a revolving door, because no one has won the job full time. I also think Mayer would have a full time position right now if he hadn’t of lost so much development time, because of injury.
  24. It always amazes me when different people can look at the same situation, and read it completely differently. I do it myself. Also to see different things to fit their narrative, and can go to different lengths to do so like players speaking up, or not speaking up. I could be completely wrong about all this, but everyone seems to have an opinion, and I know mine is in the vast minority. Casas spoke up, and most likely got reprimanded, and maybe no one else dared to speak up. Then again you may be right that no one was going to miss him. Could be one, or both ways at the same time.
  25. Did you expect one? There are a lot of young players on the team. Bregman just got there, and took Raffy’s job, and Story hadn’t been much involved the past few years, so who was going to speak up. Casas spoke up, and got talked to about it, so it doesn’t surprise me at all that no one spoke up, and doesn’t really mean anything IMO.
