  1. Did I, or have I not said right along that in my opinion it’s a COMBINATION of things that has led to Raffy not hitting the ball? Yet you want to ONLY want to focus on one thing the weight that most likely is the least significant factor of all. Not a very good comeback at all. Disappointing, and I expect better from you.🙈🤭
  2. Who said that gaining 10 lbs would make Raffy not being able to hit the ball? Reading comprehension? I’ve said all along it’s a combination of things, and injuries isn’t one of them. This is all on Raffy. If he’s hurt he hasn’t said anything, and if he’s not he’s just not hitting, and it’s up to him to get out of it, and start hitting again. This poor, poor Raffy thing is not on Cora. Raffy is making himself look foolish. Cora shouldn’t be dropping him down the batting order, resting him, or sending him down to Woo. Raffy is the one who kept putting off playing in a ST game, because he wanted to work on his swing in live BP, and in the cage. If he’s hurt he’s hurt, but if he’s not he needs to work his way out of it.
  3. And Story, Casas, Wong, and RAF Man isn’t much better.
  4. If you want to give Bloom kudos for picking Mayer fine, May end up as a real steal.
  5. The is NO known evidence to us fans that Raffy is still injured at all. As I have said all along it could be a combination of bad habits, and mechanics all out of whack as the result of the injuries from last year, but until I hear different I don’t think he’s hurting at least physically. The pictures I saw of him yesterday side by side of 2024, and 2025 it looks like he’s got more girth in his trunk this year. In other words not the best of shape he could be in, so that’s all on him. Just saying. Pap might have had something there.
  6. The big question to me is what would BLOOM have done if he had the first pick?
  7. I’m not claiming indifference, or support for Brez. At the time I was just glad to get out from the Gloom, and Doom of Bloom. Brez wouldn’t have been my first choice, and I don’t think he was the Red Sox first choice either, but most importantly he was willing and available, and Theo probably put I a good word for him also. If things work out great, but if the don’t I won’t say I told you so either.
  8. Oh, so now it’s a slump, and he’s not injured?
  9. It mens EVERYTHING if you’re giving Bloom kudos for picking him.
  10. Mayer fell into Bloom’s lap after 3 other teams passed on him.
  11. The narrative was out there all around MLB from MLB network, ESPN and others, so it was a lot more than the mean Boston media. Some of the candidates even admitted it themselves, so I don’t think Boston as Sam said is the place that everyone would want to be at. DD got fired after 4 winning seasons, and a WS title and I don’t think working for JH is all that enticing. I have no doubt the 10+ number was correct IMO.
  12. The Red Sox were the laughing stock of baseball on MLB network, and many other venues when 10+ candidates wouldn’t even interview for the HOBO job of the Boston Red Sox especially after Sam said Boston would be the place where everyone would want to be. Yes if the Red Sox finish last again this year I’ll be all over Brez as will many, many other fans, and will be deserving so as it will be with Cora.
  13. Not true, but I’m glad it appears that way. I’m wasn’t against Brez signing even though he was the 12th pick in the 2024 HOBO draft. I’m not against the Crochet deal even though as one astute talk show host said yesterday it was to soon, to much for so little experience. Most of all right now I don’t think the sky is falling , and concerned at all about Raffy, and the state of the offense. I get all the concerns, and worries, but ONLY after 5 games I think the panic is not warranted, and things will work out for the most part, and Raffy is just messed up, and not ready for any IL, and the rest of the lineup will straighten out too. 5 games is not the season, and nor is 20 AB .
  14. I was against the Bloom hiring the second I heard about it, and said it more than once on here. To me it was that looking for that third option in that fork in the road at trade deadline, and the losing last place in the division finishes he’ll be remembered for. He did do some good things, but picking up trash in the stands between games of a DH didn’t help the team in the standings. One poster on here once said we’ve got Bloom, and we’ve got Cora like that was going to give the Red Sox a competitive advantage. It Didn’t.
  15. If he ops out after 2030 that would be a total of 6 yrs under control, so you were right on.
  16. Record setting of futility at that.
  17. Starting out 1-4 is not good, but the Red Sox started out 7-3 last year, and that didn’t lead to anything good. The team isn’t hitting, but I can’t see it staying that way, nor do I see any changes being made to the lineup, or personnel in general after only 5 games. It could be worse. The Braves are 0-5.
  18. If things work out it will be a least 6 yrs of control.
  19. 4-17. BA with RISP? How many RBI, and how many LOB?
  20. I would not put to much into the Fact that Ref Man is in the lineup today, and get his 1st AB of the season. Most likely he’ll play more than not against LHP, but that doesn’t mean Abreu won’t see some AB against LHP either.
  21. The Red Sox should be able to hit this LHP today. He’s far from a Dave McNally, or what they faced in Texas.
  22. The sample size isn’t really the issue here it’s the results, or lack of results. I fully understand the concern that Raffy is still suffering from shoulder issues that have carried over from last year. Raffy just set ML League record of futile ineptness striking out 10 times in the first three games of the season, and has 12 K’s in his first 16 AB. He looks slow, lost, and whatever else you want to call it. It’s circumstances, and not the infamous sample size IMO.
  23. Like I said like only Max can
