    I’ve been shocked twice this offseason already. Getting rid of Hicks, and signing a SP to a 5 yr contract.

    Those 786 runs scored last year was a little misleading. To many games of not scoring much at all.

    You make it sound like the Red Sox losing their 1B was something new, and all of a sudden it created a big crisis that only Raffy could solve no matter if he had ever played the position, or not, and hadn’t even played in the field last year. Casas was hurt the year before also, so needing a 1B had been an ongoing thing hello Franchy Strange Glove. You guys keep bringing up Raffy going to SF, and saying he’d play there, which was an entirely different situation in more ways than one. He was going to a NEW team, who already had a good 3B. COMPLETELY different situation entirely. How often do we have to go through this is how often you keep bringing it up like starting up again on something TWO DAYS old. Why? It is YOUR opinion Raffy threw his teammates under the bus, but that doesn’t make it necessary so.

    Well they got rid of Hicks, but getting rid of Masa is a lot bigger task at hand.

    Quite a change in philosophy from old Red Sox teams to have what looks like this much pitching depth, but don’t have the bats.

    Yes bat won’t give much production especially as a starter.

    Better glove than what they have now, and also a better option to back up Story. Not a big bat though.

    I don’t think he was signed as a starter, but that doesn’t mean at some point due to unforeseen circumstances he doesn’t end up as one.

    I said before FA started that the Red Sox would fill in the IF from within as much as they could, but I wasn’t counting on this much

    Gasper was part of the 11 man brigade that shuffled through 2B for the Red Sox in 2024. Looks like Brez has got his man.🤫

    Seems to me the non answer at this time is from Brez. Like I said he’s had since last Oct to work on Roster construction. I don’t really care either what happens with either Duran, or Abreu that many seem to be so worried about. I believe someone has already said Brez seems to be at an impasse, which shouldn’t surprise anyone.

    Brez has had last Oct to work on this. Nothing would surprise me with no trades being made from RAF Man at 2B, or a DHam-Romy platoon, or even KC back at 2B, which none of them are a ideal option.

    I don’t see Masa being on the team as just a backup DH, or ANY kind of backup OF. I don’t see Masa getting DFA, or anything like that either for $36M.

    As always I agree on the 10-year deal. I also would have kept Raffy at 3B, and put Bregman at 2nd, which I think Cora wanted to do too, and especially when Bregman wasn’t guaranteed to stick around more than a year.

    Houston is talking about IP playing 2B, so I don’t know where he would play if traded to Boston, but I just think if all the mentioned trades with Houston, or the Cubs would have happened by now if they were going to.

    When you come right down to it why is there a need for a 2B anyway? Seems like that need has been there for quite a few years now. Of course 3B is a whole different story altogether.

    It’s evident the Sox didn’t want him. Dealing with Houston, or the Cubs won’t be cheap either.
