  1. I didn’t say you couldn’t win using 7 pitchers. I said it can’t be sustained, and I was talking about the Sox pitching staff, and not Houston’s. Look I’ve got a news flash for you that Cora is no genius, and he does make mistakes like everyone else’s, and it pains some of you to say anything bad about him. He isn’t made of stone, and he won’t break. If Sale would have come back like E Rod did, and pitched a good game last night it would have been nothing, but praise for Cora, and what a genius move it was, but it didn’t happen that way, and he can get criticized. This is Boston, and it happens all the time, so if it’s all Because of Cora’s decisions when they win then it can be his fault, because of his decisions when they lose, and I didn’t see many good decisions last night.
  2. Cora gets praised for all the moves he makes all the time. He’s been called a genius, and even that he has made less mistakes than any other manager in baseball this year. If he can get praised for all the moves he makes when they work then he can get criticized for all the moves he makes when it doesn’t work, and last night he made plenty of moves that didn’t work. It’s alright to criticize Cora it doesn’t mean you don’t like him, or anything. What Cora did, before in his decision making had NOTHING to do with the decisions he made for last nights game. Tell me what decisions he made last night that worked out from starting Sale to pinch hitting Santana.
  3. I just hope Cora does a better job managing today. I said before yesterday that EO should have pitched yesterday, and I feel the same way today. Nothing against Sale, and he gave it all he had, which just isn’t that good in this point of the season. You don’t hold your #1 starter back. When Sale got taken out Cora should have gone to a long man at that point, and not a short man The Sox were only down 1 run in the 8th, and he brought in the Sour Man, who hadn’t pitched in over a week, and he gave up what turned out to be the winning run. I think there were better options to bring in at that point. Pinch hitting Santana? I wouldn’t pinch hit Santana for anybody.
  4. The Sour man hadn’t pitched in a while, and it’s not like he had been lights out anyway. They were only down 1 when he came in, and I wouldn’t pinch hit Santana for anybody.
  5. This game was there for the taking. EO should have started this game.
  6. Was the Sour man the best guy they could have brought in to start the 8th only down 1 run?
  7. Just because it worked against Tampa doesn’t mean it will work against Houston. Some of these guys have thrown lots of pitches.
  8. When’s the last time the Sour man pitched?
  9. Just when you think you know the answers I change the questions.
  10. When’s the last time the Sour man pitched?
  11. A wasted AB right there.
  12. You can’t keep pitching 7 guys a night, and sustain the success.
  13. Kike is a adventure out there tonight.
  14. Because Sale couldn’t get out of the 3rd.
  15. Sale gave it everything he had, but it was a real struggle.
  16. No doom, and gloom tonight. Let’s keep it rolling.
  17. Like I mentioned earlier I hope the 3 day layoff won’t affect the bats.
  18. What would be good is if we had starters that could go 6 innings, so we wouldn’t have to use so many relievers pitch so many innings. Sooner, or later one, or more of these relievers are going to implode. Like Smoltz said the more you use the bigger chance you have of someone blowing up. It only would take one.
  19. The way I see it the goal is to win every game you play. A split in Houston would be better than 0-2, but not as good as 2-0. Just because they came back from a 5-0 deficit against Tampa doesn’t mean it will happen again. I hope this layoff won’t hurt the offense, but EO is their number one starter, and to me he should start the first game. I here all kinds of talk about how much rest a starter is on, but this isn’t like Louie Tiant throwing 130 pitches. Cora said Sale had to pitch sometime, but to me no he did not. At least as a starter. I think E Rod, Pivetta, and Houck would have been better options than Sale to pitch after EO. I hope it works out, and Sale comes back like E Rod did, and I know Cora’s decisions have pretty much all worked out, but I don’t know if the amount of innings that have been pitched by the bullpen in another grueling series with out guys imploding can be sustained. Like some have said Cora has more info than we do, and I think we’ll know early on if this was the right decision.
  20. Sale to start game 1?
  21. If they could do those contract numbers then I’d be fine with it, but I just didn’t think he deserved a JD like contract, because he’s never been a run producer like JD, or hit much for an average with a 266 high.
  22. Well said, and now on to Houston.
  23. I agree with most of this, but would have to know how long the Schwaber contract would be for. Need a backup L handed 1B
