  1. Good summary, and pitching has changed through the years from 4 man rotations to 5, and there are a lot more throwing 90+ today than even when Pedro was pitching, and 120 pitchers were nothing back then either, which puts lots of strain on the arm, and yes pitchers get hurt babied, or not.
  2. Come on I would not be that bad. I would ask Sale if he was ready first.
  3. I believe the bases were loaded, and Muser ended up with a 2R double. Twi nighter Palmer, and Tiant who pitched in different games.
  4. And that’s why I would have had him pitching in the first game to see where he was at. Just an opinion though. Didn’t Cora baby the pitchers in ST of 2019? How did that work out? I get your point on Sale, but I just would go another way.
  5. That was my point. This guy fractured a rib throwing before the season, and fell off a bike. He’s just become injury prone, and I don’t think a day, a week, or a month is going to make him any less so.
  6. I was in the stands in 75 when Dick Pole got drilled by that Tony Muser liner, and I can still hear the thud when the ball struck.
  7. You left out sports talk radio, and SoxTalk, so sounds like an incomplete list.
  8. And to think you thought giving Sale a few xtra days off would make him less brittle. The one thing I noticed, and liked right off when I joined this forum was how all opinions were welcomed. Seems like the Sale opinion has struck lots of nerves.
  9. Wow! Making a joke about this? Still can’t let the Sale thing go, which was only an opinion, which you and others didn’t like. I can live with that, because like I said it’s only an opinion.
  10. The report is that Turner is home from the hospital with no fractures, but 16 stitches, and lots of swelling. That’s good news for something that looked real bad when it happened.
  11. Who are the six starters? Bello, and Whit who were to be haven’t pitched, and Kluber has gone twice.
  12. Who says he was not ready?
  13. Who is pushing him hard, or even suggesting it? If some think pushing Sale back a week, or two is really going to make a difference in him being, and staying healthy than fine, but i don’t. Sorry I just don’t feel the Sale hype anymore, but I just don’t. I would love to See Sale come back, and pitch like he did prior to TJ, but I don’t think he will, or are counting on it. If he does GREAT.
  14. Not really an attitude, but a reality is it not?Sale has been pretty much been a loss since 2019.
  15. I don’t think it’s unreasonable treatment, but to me with all the off time he has had I don’t see giving him a little more time will make any difference, and I would have put him out there earlier just to see where he stood health wise. Just a different way of doing things.
  16. Like I said I’m just over anything Sale. I was against the extension DD gave him when it happened, so I guess seeing how things have turned out with him has clouded my opinion. Not much bang for the bucks either.
  17. Yes I would, but I just don’t think the kid glove treatment will matter one way, or the other with him. Kluber has pitched 2 times already, and to me Sale should have done the same. I’m not expecting Sale even if healthy to be nowhere near the pitcher he once was, so I just don’t think it’s a big deal for any kind of success on how he’s treated. Just my opinion, and nothing else.
  18. I guess I’ve just had enough, and are over anything Sale. Babying, or not babying had nothing to do with all his last year problems, so if he gets hurt pitching so be it, and to me no big loss.
  19. He’s had more rest than anybody though.
  20. Can anyone tell me why it has taken so long for Frail to pitch in a game yet. None of his injuries from last year were arm related, so his arm is well rested. He should have been the first guy to pitch, and not the last. Let’s see what he’s got left if anything at all. No babying!
  21. I get his point, but I just don’t think the shift has been a failure so far, and like I said I have seen a number of balls get through the IF already that wouldn’t have last year. Of course things could change once the real stuff starts.
  22. My main point that in the few games I have watched I have seen a number of ground balls get through the IF already that wouldn’t have last year, and I don’t believe even if teams bring an OF in it will be nowhere near as much as the IF shifting around on a pretty much constant basis.
  23. I I don’t think you do. I don’t believe the shift is a failure. I bet many ground ball have made it through the IF in a small sample size already that wouldn’t have last year. To me that’s a success. Of course I’m against the shift, and you are all for it. Another topic that was beaten to death on another thread.
  24. Another good outing by the KUT Man, who will probably get a rotation spot depending on the amount of injuries.
  25. You are not going to see the OF come in, and play in short RF as much as what the shift had become in previous years with the 2B like Story had been planted there more often than not.
