  1. Yes The best thing about him is he shows up for every start, and you can’t say that about many others the last few years for the Sox.
  2. Interesting that even with Bello, and Whit out that Pivetta the only guy still around, and reliable enough to take the mound every 5th day good, or bad the last two years is still #5.
  3. The Kut Man will start the 4th game of the season.
  4. It does seems weird, and it seems like Bloom just takes the easiest at the time options instead of what would be the best fit.
  5. Duvall in CF, and Dugy in RF in Fenway are not going to chase down a lot of balls.
  6. I understood the conversation, but like I stated yesterday, and again today i don’t think Bloom is all that concerned about the best defensive alignment like posters are on here.
  7. Bloom for some reason must have thought it was better or easier to sign an OF, which in this case Duvall than to get another SS once Story went down. I don’t really like Duvall in CF, but that’s the way Bloom has done it. Either way I don’t think if Kike plays SS, or in CF is going to make, or break the Red Sox season. Kike is just a stopgap no matter where he plays, and no one knows if he can play SS full time, which he has never done before, but like I said like it, or not this decision is on Bloom.
  8. Just anticipating something bad to happen especially after last year.
  9. It’s bad we’re talking about plan C&D already. Hopefully it doesn’t get to that.
  10. Chang more than likely.
  11. Story having surgery definitely changed the Red Sox plans especially taking Kike out of CF. I don’t think Rafaela was in their plans for this year unless he really lights it up in the minors. Dugy in RF in Fenway I agree is not ideal.
  12. Arroyo I believe was going to get the first shot as the 2B regardless of an injury to Story, or not, so when Story got injured, and by reports that he was planned on being the SS nothing changed for Arroyo, but as you said those nagging injuries always catch up to him. Plan B is most likely to happen at some point.
  13. I’m not saying Story wasn’t good, but only that Arroyo is no big drop off, and turns the DP better.
  14. I don’t think Bloom is as concerned about D as what it is on here. It appeared that way last year when Bloom brought JBJ back, but when it didn’t work out, and the Red Sox need a CF/RF Bloom went out, and got a LF, and moved Dugy to RF, which certainly isn’t his best OF position, and especially at Fenway.
  15. It all depends what OF you talk about when you say the D should be worse than 2022. The start of 2022 the OF D was good, but the D got worse as the season went along, and especially when The Butterfly Man was in CF. 1B will be better. 2B if Arroyo stays healthy I don’t see any big drop off. Story was good, but did a lot of his work in short RF, which he wouldn’t be doing this year, and wasn’t all that great at turning the DP. Arroyo can hold his own a 2B. SS no one knows how Kike will do. The most games he’s ever played in a season is 20+, so I’m on a wait, and see on that. 3B Hopefully Raffy improves. C I’m not sure will be better either.
  16. Well the good vibes I believe has to come from the starting rotation. If that holds up I can see them Winning somewhere around there.
  17. Agree with this, but if Story doesn’t get hurt I don’t think Duvall gets signed unless the plan was to move Kike to the IF anyway.
  18. Cora said a week, or so ago that Yoshida would not be batting leadoff, and probably 4th.
  19. As long as he comes out healthy I’m not panicking yet.
  20. He doesn’t want to show his real stuff until he faces them in the opening series.
  21. My biggest worry with the lineup going into the season is how well Turner, and Duval will produce. They’ll be in the middle somewhere, and I think they will be a key one way, or the other.
  22. It seems that Story, and Dugy had more RBI chances even hitting further down last year.
  23. I would go with : Arroyo Yoshida Raffy Turner Casas Duval Dugy Kike C
  24. I would say at this time it’s TBD. I think Arroyo will start off batting leadoff, and who bats ninth will determine how many guys Raffy has on base when he gets up. I just think he would have more RBI chances hitting third.
