  1. I think it’s more about the # of pitchers thrown than innings. Jansen had a quick first inning today. I thought Sale might pitch a little bit more today since he only threw 31 pitches.
  2. I don’t think he’s a genius. Like he said it’s a low risk, high reward type of move. If it works out great, and if it doesn’t no big loss.
  3. You may be right, but I just don’t think DD would have drafted him if he was counting on this year as the year.
  4. Disagree 100% that DD pulled a dick move. I don’t think DD had any knowledge that Song would be released this year, and was just taking a chance for further down the line. After all he did draft him. I don’t believe he would have drafted him if he knew he was being released as early as he was.
  5. It’s definitely better to be winning like they have than to be losing, but I don’t know how much all the winning will carry over once the real season starts. Most of the frontline players haven’t really contributed to all the winning so far, so we’ll have to wait, and see on that. I still think the success of the Red Sox this year will hinge on the success of the starting rotation, and there are still a lot of questions there.
  6. Song has already been on the best team when he was in the Navy, and we’ll find out soon where he ends up next, which is hopefully back in the Red Sox organization.
  7. It may be okay to go with that OF alignment, but it certainly won’t be a great rangy D.
  8. Good questions, but no answers. The ideal is to kind of have 2CF for CF, and RF in Fenway. It’s hard to get someone like a Mookie.
  9. We agree on this, and when JBJ didn’t work out last year, and Kike was hurt the Red Sox needed a CF/RF, but what did Bloom do went out, and got a LF, and Dugie got moved to RF where he is still at, and not his best position.
  10. No that was Jimmy Piersall.
  11. Opinion, and stats. Kind of like on here.
  12. Good article today from Tomase on NBC Sports Boston on Duvall.
  13. What results? Duvall hasn’t produced any in a Red Sox uniform yet, and if he comes anywhere near 96 RBI that Renfroe did I’ll be happy, but like I said Duvall has only played 100 games once in the last 4 years.
  14. I agree JBJ was the best CF on D last year. They both sucked with the bat also.
  15. Tapia is not rated as a good defensive OF, and neither is Yoshida, or Dugo playing RF, and add that to Duvall out of position in CF. Doesn’t should like a good defensive OF to me, which was a reason for bringing back JBJ last year.
  16. Yes Kike was good in 2021, but that was two years ago, and he sucked last year even before he got hurt. He didn’t pass the eye test last year.
  17. What’s on the bench that would be saying much? Not much. I’m not biased against Duvall at all, but he’s just a stop gap, and if he turns out a Renfroe type year that will be great. He’s only played 100 games once in the last 4 years, and he’s pretty much a homer, or nothing else guy who K’s a lot. 101 in 287 AB last year, so I’m just not counting on him to be a big addition, but like I said if he does great.
  18. I’ll agree that JBJ has slowed down.
  19. An upgrade of what they have on the bench? I’ll agree with that, but that’s not saying much. Definitely better than Duran, and the likes they had out there last year.
  20. If Story was healthy, and at SS, and Kike was back in CF i don’t believe Duvall would even be on the team.
  21. Kike is not out there now, and when he is Kike is a good CF, but he’s not in my opinion JBJ elite.
  22. Neither is anyone else in the Red Sox OF exactly JBJ with the glove.
  23. I know about his contract, and I know why he was brought in , but I still say he makes the big club over Wong injury, or not. I don’t think not being on the 40 man gives Wong a massive leg up either, but we will see.
  24. Duvall struck out 101 times in 287 AB last year. If Duvall doesn’t hit a bunch of HR he’s not going to give you much else anyway.
  25. I think Alfaro would have beaten Wong out for a spot in Boston injury, or not.
