    It’s pretty much like piggybacking every game. Kluber making it into the 6th last night saved the BP a few bullets.

    Probably not if you take Whit, and Houck out of the rotation, but I think at least one of these guys would move to the backend like Wink last night.

    As long as Wink, and Kut Man are doing the job like they have been they need to stay in the roles they are currently are in unless the starting rotation turns into a Mash unit again.

    The only reason Houck, and Whitlock went into the rotation last year was, because of Sale being frail to start the season. Whitlock was put in to try, and get a 4 inning save on opening day last year. This year if Bello, and Paxton were healthy to start the season then I believe Houck would have been in the pen, and I’m not sure about Whitlock if he would have been healthy too. Either way neither needs to be jerked around between pen, and starting.

    For me it’s not about how he’ll do in the rotation, but how good he is in the pen. The early good work, of the Kut Man, and Wink have made Whitlock less needed there.

    As long as he doesn’t get hurt punching something in the dugout.

    If the Red Sox wasn’t so in desperate need for arms in the rotation I don’t think it would be such an option, but the Red Sox have been in desperate need for arms for the rotation for years.

    He may be dumpster diving, but I would say a better option then what is trying to play SS for the Red Sox at the moment.

    One man’s junk is another man’s treasure that the Red Sox could use right now even at a reduced ability.

    Like I said before the only season he has stayed healthy with the Red Sox when he was used solely in the pen for a few innings at a time, and 3 days between appearances.

    I’ll believe in Sale when he strings 3-4 good starts together. I don’t know if he was tipping any pitches In Baltimore, or not, or if they just hit him. Control, and the break on his slider, or lack of is usually when he gets hit hard, and that was the case In Baltimore.

    When did Story come up injured? January? Bloom knew then there was going to be a problem at SS, but decided to do nothing about it when there were SS options out there at the time. Kike can try to play there, but he is not a SS, and if he had stayed there FT this season he’d probably have 20 errors instead of 10. Arroyo is not a SS either. Chang at least for the short time he played there was fielding the position.

    If someone said that the Red Sox at this point in the season would be 2 games over 500, and ahead of the Yankees I think everyone would have taken it.

    That would be a great deal for the Sox, but I’m not so sure for Dugy.

    Agree. Dugo is playing real good ball right now, but he never has, is, or will be as good as Mookie Betts. A lot cheaper right now too, but i wouldn’t jump just yet, and offer him a contract on how he’s looked so far this season.

    I don’t know who it is, but whoever is the best fielding SS in the system right now who isn’t injured I would bring him up now even if he doesn’t have a bat. Chang wasn’t hitting much either except for a few bombs, but look how he solidified the IF, and D at SS.

    Kluber wasn’t sharp yesterday, but gutted out 5+ innings.
