  1. Chang with Hamate FX. Valdez backup. Too bad for Chang who had solidified the D at SS. Sox need another SS, and not a 2B. Kike is not a regular SS, and it also may have hampered his hitting. He seemed to start hitting after they took him off SS coincidentally, or not.
  2. I’m still trying to figure out who the Red Sox no names are.
  3. I would settle for Chaim making the Red Sox better.
  4. No you can’t complain about the Devers signing, but what are you putting around him? A bunch of stopgaps. Devers is in the prime of his career, and if you are not going to go for it anytime soon your just wasting away some of those prime years waiting, and hoping that all these high rated prospects/suspects turn out as good as the hype that may not EVER happen. That’s what some are banking on, and they may end up bankrupt.
  5. Very surprised? I think everyone would be shocked to death if JH told Bloom to go out, and make a serious offer to Ohtani. The Angels have two of the best players in Ohtani, and Trout, and where has that got them? Devers, and Ohtani, and who else?
  6. Their record may say the Red Sox are a 500 team, but take away a dropped fly ball, which would have ended the game, and some catcher interferences this team would be treading water try to get there.
  7. The boo birds were there opening day, which was just a carry over from last year, and actually the boo birds were there before the season even started with the warm reception John H, and Bloom got anywhere they showed their face in public.
  8. Another FOR SALE night last night. Any buyers? He was hit hard all night, and if it wasn’t for the D he would have given up more runs. I think it was pretty much assumed that if Sale was healthy he would be the old Sale. While I think he’ll have good games like he did the start before I also think he’ll be more like he’s been in the other games he’s pitched this year Kluber who I said at the time he was signed was the cheapest way out to Wacha, or Evol, and so far he’s looked like it although Evol, and Wacha hasn’t looked that good either. Houck has pitched well enough to stay in the rotation, and with the Kut Man, and Wink being as effective as they’ve been in the pen there is less need to put Houck back there. Bello hasn’t looked that great, but I don’t see going back to Worcester is any benefit, and he needs to pitch in Boston. Pivetta is Pivetta good, and bad but takes the mound every turn. We all knew starting pitching would be the key to a good, or bad season, and so far it has.
  9. It was only a matter of time before the O’s got to Sale. Lots of loud outs before this inning. Looks like A For Sale Day.
  10. Always glad to see any Red Sox player get hot, and especially when both are on my fantasy team.
  11. He does look more SUSPECT than prospect at the moment. I could care less how many pitches he sees, or how many balls he fouls off, or how many walks he gets for that matter. Swing the damm bat, and hit the ball, and prove you were worth the hype of so many on here.
  12. Will this be a Sale day, or will this be A For Sale Day?
  13. Sure they counted yesterday, but one game as good as it was does not make a season. I would say up to this point in the short season so far on a game by game basis Yoshida has hurt more than he’s helped win a game like he did yesterday.
  14. You have to go to Statcast? Playing ping pong with the infielders for the most part is what your eyes should have shown you so far. Yes his 2 HR, and 6 RBI were great yesterday, but for the most part he had been unproductive, and certainly shouldn’t have been batting 4th.
  15. While his 15 RBI in 17 games looks a lot better than it actually is with 6 yesterday the good old eye test has shown you for the most part that Yoshida has hit ping pong balls to the IF more than anything else. Let’s see what happens next after his home run derby yesterday.
  16. The Celtics, and Bruins are in the playoffs, and with both having the talent to advance far, and the NFL draft is coming up for the Pats, so for me the Red Sox are way on the back burner just kind of simmering along the 500 mark, which I think is an over achievement at this point with some of the gifts they’ve been given like the dropped last out of the game by the O’s.
  17. Sorry, but I’m heading for the coast for a few days, so you going to have to break Tampa’s streak without me.
  18. I said Bobby D wasn’t a good option, but couldn’t be any worse than Kike. Bottom line why are the Red Sox even in the mess at SS. Your Hobo Chaim Bloom.
  19. Never was, but the best question is why is he good enough for Cora, and Bloom.
  20. Would it hurt to bring Hamilton up to play SS? He played most of the games at SS for Worcester so far. He might even get on base, and get a steal, or two. If he’s not good enough to come up now with the hole the Red Sox have at SS then he probably never will.
  21. I agree with you that the team wasn’t put together very well (again) especially up the middle. A SS who has never played SS FT, a 2B who can handle the position, but has never been healthy enough to do so, and a CF who is better suited for a corner OF, and has never been a FT CF. Also two backup C with not a lot of experience. Not a good way to put a team together, and that’s just on the D side.
  22. Oh no! Say it ain’t so! Someone would have a lot of explaining to do Lucy.
  23. Mayer 1-5 with 4 K’s.
  24. Wong is a better C, and McGuire is a better hitter. Either way it certainly wouldn’t hurt having Wong catch Sale.
