  1. You mean like Kike?
  2. It wasn’t about if Sale had earned to be the opening day starter, or not, but the reason behind it. I for one did not think Sale deserved to be opening day starter, and if you wanted to go by who has been there, and showed up everyday that would have been Privetta.
  3. I think lots of lefty pitching has been the reason.
  4. The only thing I worry about Raffy is pulling something when he takes one of his big swings, and I think Dugy will be somewhat productive, but the rest of the bunch is a lot of ifs.
  5. I’m not saying he would, but Cora thinking he would be taking the pressure off a 34 yr old Sale, who’s been in the league for years was over thinking things.
  6. I get your point, but just, because the Red Sox farm is higher ranked, because of a few players doesn’t mean it’s any good, or will be productive, which is mine. I’m not asking for someone to be a high ranked SS to come up, but anyone who could field the position, and hit better than 083. Is that to much to ask?
  7. We don’t know how Sale would have pitched on opening day, but the point was that Cora’s over thinking things didn’t make sense to me, and it did work out.
  8. Casas has looked more suspect than prospect so far, and I have always said Whitlock should be in the pen. Time will tell on Bello.
  9. Oh no! Not fire Cora. He’s pulled all the right strings. How about batting Noshida 4th, because he wanted him to feel more comfortable. How’s that worked out? How about not Starting Sale on opening day, because he wanted him to enjoy the festivities, and not put on pressure on him. How did that work out? Taking Dugy out of the leadoff spot, and inserting an 083 hitter, which gives him potentially a xtra AB a game to suck even more. How has that worked out. Cora will have the BP all worn out from over use by May 1. Oh no! Don’t fire Cora.
  10. Whoopie doo the Red Sox have one of the top prospects in all of baseball in the lower ranks. Doesn’t do any good now does it, and as my saying goes prospects/suspects are useless until they produce in a Red Sox uniform, or are traded for someone who does.
  11. Right now the lack of hitting seems to be the most concerning. Turner looks all his 38 yrs, Yoshida plays to much ping pong with the IF, Casas looks more suspect than prospect, Arroyo while healthy hasn’t hit, and Kike looks like another JBJ, and $10M wasted.
  12. I don’t think JH gave Bloom a pat on the back for that one.
  13. Mayer seems to be off to a Kike start. I hope Kike didn’t rub off on him.
  14. The Red Sox have no depth. I keep hearing the farm is better, but they can’t even bring up anyone to play SS who can field, and hit better than 083. Wouldn’t a Jeter Downs have looked good, but he sucked big time, and never made it. What a haul Bloom got for Mookie. The best option for an OF to be brought up is the Butterfly Man, so for a farm that’s supposed to be better I’d say it’s still pretty thin.
  15. Being 7th in runs scored is not the telling of what the offense has been to start the season. They hadn’t faced very good pitching going into Tampa, and outside of Duvall, Dugy, and Raffy there wasn’t much else going right for any other hitters, so to call it thin would be to generous.
  16. Sale got knocked around by a good hitting O’s club, and looked a little better against a weak hitting banjo lineup in Detroit. A Sale day, or A For Sale Day we will find out tonight.
  17. I think getting swept by the Pirates at home was a lot more telling about this club than sweeping the banjo hitting Tigers, so to say the Red Sox looked promising going into Tampa is something I don’t buy.
  18. Bogey hit his 4th HR of the season last night. On the other hand Kike doesn’t even have 4 hits. WOW!
  19. What ever you want to call it still wasn’t good for a guy 29, who has played lots of baseball. I’ll repeat something I’ve reported before that Yoshida had 9 hits in the WBC, and 8 of them were on pitches under 90 MPH, and the other hit was on a pitch at 91 MPH. He may adjust to faster pitches, and he may not. For $100M he’d better
  20. Noshida has been playing baseball for a long time, and is 29 years old, so not a good comparison. The pitching he’s facing is better than in Japan.
  21. Might as well just draw the lineup out of a hat at this point.
  22. The way the Sox are going right now I don’t think it matters who bats where. Like I said Kike gets an xtra AB tonight, and a chance to suck even more, which he did.
  23. Kike was sucking batting 9th, and now Cora has moved him up to leadoff, so he can possibly get 1 more AB, and suck even more.
  24. A lot of the Red Sox hitters wasn’t hitting before they got to Tampa, so it’s not just Tampa’s pitching.
  25. I’m not agreeing with anything. Tampa wins with Bloom, and wins without Bloom, so I don’t think Bloom built anything. He was just one of many Nerds in the room, and maybe the Red Sox picked the wrong nerd. Now he’s out in front of the room in Boston, and it has shown. He big league club has suffered.
