  1. I’m not playing forum police to limit topics. Blow into the wind all you want. Improving the D would improve the team, but I just don’t see Bloom as thinking that way, and if he did he hasn’t done much about it. Like last year at 1B, and when the Red Sox needed a CF/RF Bloom went out, and got a LF in Pham. A Dugy, Kike, and Gallo OF would have been a good defensive OF, but not much with the bats. So day dream all you want.
  2. And what is Boras going to ask for Chapman? I just don’t see Bloom pulling the trigger on all these moves. It would be way out of his character.
  3. They are not spending anymore money in the short term on a 3B. They just locked one up for 10 years, and they already have a 1B. Like I said earlier all the moves you want to make aren’t going to be done, because 3 players would be better as a DH.
  4. Bloom hasn’t shown yet that he’ll spend money on the rotation, so I’m not sure he will this coming off season either. I’m for bringing JT, and Duvall back, but I think it will take at least a 2 yr contract for both.
  5. There are so many ways this team could go with this up coming off season. Even with the JT, Duvall, and Dugy situations. Like I posted the other day Bloom, and Dugy had a long conversation out on the field after a game the other day. Who knows what that was all about.
  6. The OF D hasn’t been great, but it’s the IF D that has hurt the team from Day 1.
  7. Yes I have seen Rafaela in Portland go, and get ‘em in the OF. Nobody knows how his bat will play in the big leagues, or Anreu, or Duran still for that matter.
  8. Yes I have seen Rafaela in Portland go, and get ‘em in the OF. Nobody knows how his bat will play in the big leagues, or Anreu, or Duran still for that matter.
  9. I think most have him traded already, but I’m not so sure.
  10. I just think it is an awfully big risk to pencil in Duran LF, Rafaela CF, and Abreu RF to start a season. I’m not moving things around just to accommodate someone who is better suited to be the DH. From what the Red Sox brass has shown the last two years I don’t think they care that much about it either.
  11. The underwhelming underdog by Chaim Bloom made for New England, and parts unknown.
  12. Turner, or Duvall coming back is a must, but the very least it’ll take a two year contract. Rafaela is still a very unproven MLB player at this time as is Abreu, and I’m still not completely sold on Duran, who was definitely better this year, but I don’t believe as good as he first started out this year. What gets done with Dugy is another question. Casas can get better, but has terrible footwork receiving throws. I’ve seen him more than once stretch out for a throw when the ball went sailing over his head. That’s a bad ML 1B.
  13. It depends if it a Sale Day, or a For Sale Day.
  14. They will have faced three SP this weekend with a combined 5-26 record. Anything short of a sweep isn’t good enough, and that’s not going to happen.
  15. Texas has dropped quite a bit, and is only 3-7 in the last 10. Unfortunately the Red Sox are only 4-6, and that’s not going to catch anyone with only 20+ games to go.
  16. The rest of baseball is just loving that the Red Sox, and Yankees are bottom feeders now.
  17. I think the big challenge for the rest of the year is if the Red Sox can stay above 500, or not.
  18. Against weak competition so far, but ND looks like they are very deep at RB, and WR this year. At QB not so much, and if the starter goes down they could be in trouble.
  19. Good question. I choose by what I think is true, or not. I believed Sam two years ago when he said they would do business as usual, which I took it as no big signings, and then they went out, and signed Story. Sam is JH’s WallMart greeter, and is a spinner, and grinner.
  20. Just like at the year end press conference last year when Sam said all of of baseball ops failed. It was true, but I don’t believe Sam thought it, or meant it, but only said it to appease the fans.
  21. It doesn’t matter what Chris Frail has for fWAR, or any other stat. 77 innings is the biggest problem, which is the most since 2019.
  22. If it was just last night’s fiasco it would be one thing, but add it to Monday’s fiasco, and the recent 1-5 home stand, and I think it is a lot more than general malaise in Sox Nation. General malaise is way to mild to describe with what’s out there.
  23. Improvements in the rankings doesn’t necessarily mean a trip to the WS, or even the postseason for that matter, which is the hope beyond hope on here.
  24. Or MLB pipeline, which only ranks the farm 16th.
  25. You keep saying JH spends in cycles, and will again, and I keep saying this is not the same JH who bought the Red Sox, or even the same JH of 10 years ago. Those days I believe are l long gone. He has a lot more outside adventures today than when he first game to Boston. He was a good owner, but not anymore. With some he doesn’t get a lifetime pass, because of the 4 championships.
