  1. True, and this one should have never gotten to the 7th game. Nervous Nellie for tonight.
  2. There is nothing good about playing in, or watching a rain game. Drizzle, and fog right now in Boston.
  3. If you look at their records, and say great that’s fine, but I just don’t think the quality of teams anymore are anything like they were a few years ago, but still you are going to have winning first place teams.
  4. And like I said if you can’t beat the teams with the better records then you’re probably not that good yourself.
  5. Real in a watered down league. You bet, and their record shows it, and they put the broom to the Red Sox.
  6. All I’ve heard so many times on here if the Red Sox played in a weaker Div, and played a weaker schedule they would be a better team. Wha, wha, wha. I would rather the Red Sox play the Yankees 50 times a year than play the A’s 50 times a year, and let the record be whatever. What I said, and will say again is that all of MLB is very watered down, so take it anyway you want.
  7. I was asking the 500 question in general.
  8. The fact that Pittsburgh has the record it does proves my point that the whole MLB is very watered down this year. Pitts is not as good as their record. I don’t care how many first, and second place teams the Red Sox have played so far, or will play. If you can’t beat the supposedly good teams chances are you’re not that good yourself.
  9. Playing 500 is an improvement, but to me not good enough. Have the Red Sox sunk that low that 500 is good enough now?
  10. Yes if you like fouling off pitches, taking a few walks, and taking to many called third strikes, because he looks like he’s afraid to swing the bat then Casas So Far has passed the eye test. He’s not going to lead anyone to the promise land from one of the top suspects/prospects of an improved in the rankings farm system that way.
  11. Seems as mentioned before that some are satisfied hanging around 500 in a Watered Down MLB, and being close to a WC spot. I look at it as floundering around 500 in a watered down league, and if that’s the ceiling that’s just not good enough for me.
  12. I’m not going to say I told you so, but I’ve felt this way ever since Bloom got hired.
  13. I could care less about how many balls Casas fouls off, or how many walks he gets for that matter. He looks like he would rather take a walk then swing the bat, and has taken to many close third strike pitches. Swing the dam bat! A couple of lucky grounders, or different scorers calls? Really? I think his 130 BA looks better than the eye test SO FAR. Swing the dam bat! SO FAR he hasn’t.
  14. Wow! Going overboard with this one. The key word in my statement was SO FAR, and SO FAR Casas has looked nothing like a top prospect, but a top Suspect. I think most everyone would have expected a little bit more out of Casas at this point with all the hype that preceded him to Boston. Lots on here are counting on the Calvary from the improved in the rankings farm to lead the Red Sox to the promise land, which might not come this year, or next year, but maybe 2026. Casas is one of the top hopes, and hyped players, and Bello too, and SO FAR they haven’t done much of anything to warrant that. If that don’t happen where will the Red Sox be then? Maybe a losing team, and last place in the Div. SO FAR that’s where they are.
  15. Maybe all those commercials have worn Raffy out.
  16. Like I said a few days ago that the Red Sox for the most part are on the back burner in Boston with the C’s, B’s, and the NFL draft going on.
  17. Hosmer would have been better than what the current SUSPECT Casas has given the Red Sox so far, and cheap too.
  18. Good point. It seems the only time Whitlock has been healthy with the Sox was his first year when he was strictly relief going 2-3 innings at a time, and getting 3 days, or so between appearances.
  19. Whitlock on IL with Ulnar Neuritis! Bello back up.
  20. He did see the value of a good glove man last year when he went out, and got JBJ even if it cost a little money. Of course his platoon partner started out as Arroyo though. Sub par D up the middle is never a good thing, and like the Red Sox are trying to do now with Kike at SS. Arroyo is adequate at 2B, but can’t hit at least so far, and Valdez is an ERROR waiting to happen.
  21. Agree, and anything less than a winning team with a postseason berth would be another failure, and heads should roll from top to bottom. The Red Sox have been in the same division for many many years now, and saying they are in the toughest Div should not be an excuse.
  22. I guess it depends how you look at it. Playing 500 ball is better than having a losing record, but I think all of MLB is really watered down this year. Yes Tampa is off to a great start, but I don’t think they are any super team. Pittsburg has a good record too, and i wouldn’t call them all that good, so I don’t think at this point being 500 is any big accomplishment, or mean as much as it would in other years.
  23. Valdez looks worse at 2B than Franchy did at 1B. Another plan coming together.
  24. If they get down to Paxton just for depth the Red Sox would be in a bad situation anyway. Bello, Kut Man, and Wink should be ahead of him anyways.
