Why even bother to sign Raffy?

Now that is a loser attitude. Sell when you still have a chance to get into the postseason for a couple of prospects. Once again I bet the players in that clubhouse don’t feel that way, or the fans going to the games, and pay top dollar for tickets. It’s easy to sit back from afar, and say what to do.

As I have said it’s not because of the Red Sox, but baseball in general.

As I’ve said the last two years Houck, and Whitlock should have stayed in the BP. Two years of starting for Whit, and two years of injuries. Frail is Frail, so a bad plan all the way around.

Like I keep saying the overall attitude on here of why bother the Red Sox aren’t good enough is not like that any other place that I hear, watch, and see.

I stopped not, because of the Red Sox, but what I feel is that baseball is a very watered down product. Openers, and BP games are not for me not to mention the talent level to me is not all that good either. I keep informed for fantasy purposes.

What Cora, and the players feel is what mattes the most, and also the fans that pay TOP dollars to watch.

If you are not going to play to win then why play at all? What are the fans playing TOP dollar to go, and watch for? Hoping for the future that nothing good may ever come. Wow!

Has Urias ever been a FT 2B before? Or a FT any position? Kike had never been FT at any position. Chang had never been FT. Reyes has never been FT, and aArroyo has never been FT. Is it too much to ask for the Red Sox to get someone who is FT? Getting all these guys, and hoping they work out to me is not a good way to go.

The odds aren’t very good that all three come back, and pitch well, but none of the three are pitching for the Red Sox now, and right now, or even weeks ago the Red Sox need, and needed help. Games are slipping away, and every game counts, so getting someone to help now should have been a priority.

I think we agree, but my only point was if all three come back healthy, and Sale goes into the rotation that would leave Whit, and Houck for the pen, which would deepen the BP all the way around.

Yes, but if Sale goes into the rotation, and the Kut Man, and Pivetta stays there that would give you 5 starters.

I’m not disputing anything you said about the eye test sitting, and watching on a TV. I’ve played enough ball, and been to enough games to know the difference. All I’ve ever said is that the eye test is good enough for me, and that is what seems to be a problem for some. The key is good enough for me.

I think the Kut Man, and Pivetta deserve to stay in the rotation, so if you can get 1 healthy starter out of Sale, Whit, or Houck, and the other 2 go to the BP they could have a deep BP. Of course the big if is staying healthy, which the 3 haven’t been able to stay, but with only 2 months left they might have a chance.

Doesn’t the top wildcard record get home field, and play all the games there?
