  1. Raffy, and Jansen said they needed help, and what they think is more important than what we think. I’m glad none of the rumored guys to get traded did, and are still here.
  2. Expected, or surprised? A Yale guy, and he’s still stuck at the fork in the road a year later.
  3. LMAO on this. Good one.
  4. Who said he wasn’t a good owner? I’m only saying the opinion on him has changed drastically by most not on here from when he first arrived in Boston, and even in the last 5 years of the what have you done for me lately crowd. The boos he gets when he shows his face in public is not a pat on the back.
  5. It appears that way at least to one.
  6. The talent is there, but is the consistency good enough with 3 wildcards in a watered down league?
  7. It may have had at the time, because the Red Sox were only 1 year removed from a WS title, but that only added to the lack of success, and now.
  8. I for one am glad Bloom did not get rid of Duval that you were so sure of was going to happen, or Paxton, Dugy, and even Turner. I’m sure it was not, because of Bloom’s expertise, but because he wanted too much in return. It would have been nice to get some pitching help that the players, and Cora wanted, but a least there wasn’t any fire sale that a few on here wanted to add something for that future they may not ever be as bright as some are wishing, and hoping for on here. The team has a better chance at the postseason this year than last, and it’s owed to the players in that clubhouse, and the fans who pay TOP dollar to watch to try to get into the postseason, and then anything can happen. If that’s not the goal then why play at all.
  9. Everyone’s job is for matter of opinion even John Henry. Do you think John Henry is looked at by MOST fans today the same as he was 5 years ago? It all ties to the success, or lack of success by the big league ball club.
  10. Like I said we disagree 100% on what Bloom’s main job, or responsibility is.
  11. You keep talking about the organization set up, but you have no clue what each does. Bottom line Bloom is responsible for all.
  12. That would probably be different with every club. I have no idea how much input the GM has in Boston, and neither do you, but Bloom I bet has the final decision. What Bloom does, and doesn’t do on a daily basis I have no idea either. I did see him pick up trash in the stands between games of a DH this year though.
  13. Well I guess we’ll just have to disagree 100% on that.
  14. You were right the first time with bafflegab, or as I would say BOHICA.
  15. Does he make the decisions, or does Bloom?
  16. If you don’t agree that his main job in running the whole organization is the record of the big league club then you could be wrong, and that is not fine.
  17. Yes his main task is running the whole organization, but what is most important in that whole organization is what the big league club does in the standings. If it’s not then fans shouldn’t have to pay top ticket prices to go, and see them. I’ll repeat what Cora said again it doesn’t matter how many prospects you have, or what the farm rankings is, but what the Red Sox do, or don’t do in October. I’m pretty sure the players feel the same way. Your PR for Bloom is as bad as the Red Sox PR is overall.
  18. A year later, and he’s still looking for that 3rd option at the fork in the road.
  19. That I agree with on Bloom, but I think Cora feels the same way as the players, and don’t want to give up on a season when they have a chance to get into the postseason, which I believe is a lot better chance than last year. Worry about what may happen in the future, and which may never come is not always the best plan, or outcome.
  20. I think Raffy, and every other player in that clubhouse are only playing right now 2023, and not worrying about 2024, and beyond, which is what they should be doing. Raffy has already came out, and says the Red Sox need pitching. He was talking about this year, and that’s what they are playing for. What the players in that clubhouse think, and are playing for is what’s most important, and in the mom in their best interest.
  21. Do you think Bloom can pull the trigger on making a trade to just improve the 2023 team, and do you think he will? If he doesn’t improve this team for this year, for a better chance to make the Postseason I think you are going to have a bunch of pissed off players in that clubhouse starting with Raffy.
  22. I’ll repeat what Cora said the other day that what the Red Sox do, or don’t do in October is what’s most important. Some fans will be OK if the Red Sox finish with a winning record, but don’t make the playoffs, but i believe many fans won’t. I guess it depends on how high, or how low the bar is that you have set.
  23. I think anything short of a postseason berth is an overall failure, but Bloom has done some good things to the roster this year.
  24. And a significant impact on the field. Mostly bad.
