  1. I’m guessing all of the above to some degree. At least they signed a pitcher for more than $10M.
  2. I agree 100%, but I just don’t see your suggested fix although a good one happening.
  3. Well a day after landing a starting pitcher the long faces don’t seem as long, and the sad puppy eyes don’t seem as sad. I said the Red Sox were working on something, and low, and behold a pitcher appears. It isn’t the big splash as many expected, but it’s a start. The funny thing is I’ve been the voice of optimism while everyone else on here has been all gloom, and doom. What a turn of events.
  4. Imagine signing a pitcher for more than $10M too.
  5. 184 innings with 41 HR allowed. Good, and bad.
  6. He pitched a career high 184 innings last year, so at least that’s something.
  7. A reclamation project that could go either way, but at least it’s something, but more is needed.
  8. In all my years of listening, and participating in talk shows, and being on many, many, many forums, and message boards I have Never seen, or experienced anything like this, and after showing many of the tit for tats, and I know you are, but what am I to other people they all say the same thing. Where a couple of posters analyze every single letter of every single word, and see if it matches their interpretation, and if it doesn’t right, or wrong they go off on it even telling the other side then they know what the other person is trying to say more than they do. Sad, but true at the same time.
  9. I don’t know how, but I had actually forgotten about the Arroyo, and Franchy at 1B experiment.
  10. Even if it wasn’t if their main priority was the Yam Man it wasn’t very sound thinking if they thought they could win out over NY, and the Dodgers.
  11. Only you went off on it like you did with Olson singing with the Braves, because I didn’t specify he’d been traded first when everyone knew it anyway. Like everyone sticks to a subject, or thread on here. The post was about FA, but comment was about MLB. If that bothers you, and obviously it did, because you felt you had to jump on it then good. I’ll sleep better tonight.
  12. It is speculation, but I just don’t believe Cora, and Bloom could be that incompetent otherwise.
  13. Do you think Baseball ops misread the FA room again, and didn’t think the asking prices would go up like they did especially for the zYam Man, and most likely Monty, and Snell to follow?
  14. I think in the beginning Cora told Bloom Kike could handle it. If not Cora, and Bloom gets all the blame.
  15. A good player who couldn’t hit his last two years in Boston.
  16. How were they in better position when there is lots of needs, and lots of teams needing? Big spenders too.
  17. In this case I’d call it more than speculation, but no concrete evidence either way.
  18. You don’t think Cora had some nudging on that? I was very vocal, and against Kike getting Resigned. Like I said he lived off his hot October of 2021 streak on here for 2 years after.
  19. I think it was more of keeping his boy in the lineup when it come to Kike, and Cora.
  20. Kike’s bat in the lineup? He didn’t hit his last two years in Boston. Kike was way overrated on here, because of October 2021.
  21. Seems to me the Red Sox already have a regular 3B, so that answers that question. Like I keep saying Cora for the most part especially at 1B, and 3B is playing the cards he’s been dealt, and you can keep saying Cora doesn’t value D all you want, but that’s not going to mean, or change anything.
  22. What’s jumping the gun got to do with my typing? Not one blessed thing. I was already done, but in your haste to say I gotcha you missed the point completely that I was talking about to many labels in baseball, and not about FA. You have NEVER clarified anything for me on here, and most of the time you don’t know the point anyway, so it would be pretty hard to do. I clarify for you that there is more than 2 labels in MLB.
  23. I’m certainly not defending Cora, but I think he thought his boy Kike could handle SS in the beginning, but why he kept him there that long is no defense for it especially it was known early he couldn’t handle it.
  24. Keeping Bogey at SS is not even close to being a good example of what happened, or didn’t happen at SS last year.
  25. I’m not even going to contemplate anything to do with acquiring Chapman, because like I said I think there is a snowball’s chance in hell of that happening. I know your fixated with Chapman like you was with Gallo last year, but neither did, or will happen.
