  1. And for some not just a higher payroll, but a lot higher payroll, and that’s why I keep saying that things have changed just in the last 5 years, and I don’t know if JH will keep up with the change.
  2. Not arguing that, but it doesn’t sound like the Red Sox are going to meet his asking price, and i won’t blame them for that at all.
  3. And on the other side there are a lot more teams now then there used to be spending more, and more, which is not a good sign either.
  4. If those were your only 2 options I would agree, but that’s really limiting yourself if your the Red Sox.
  5. And like I keep saying that this is not the same JH that bought the ball club, so what he has done in the past has NOTHING to do with what he does now. It’s a lot different ballgame today then even 5 years ago, so when I keep hearing what JH did in the past has no relevance now, but keep thinking it does if it makes you feel better, and keep watching other clubs keep passing you by.
  6. Speculate all you want, but it doesn’t sound like anyone is having any fun with all the pouting, and shouting over the current state of the Red Sox, because of any , or not any speculative movements of the team up to this point.
  7. BTV is as useless as the speculation on here. I’m sure the scouting report on Duran is based off BTV. As for speculation, which runs rampant on here like some even speculating that the Yam Man would be in the Red Sox rotation.🙈. Of course we can never forget the speculation of all the BTV suggested trades for the Red Sox on here that never happen either, but fear not as your speculation is last to none.
  8. The main point was they didn’t spend up to the CBT, and all the money you mentioned was not all money added , but replacement money like for Bogey, JD, and Nate. You have always speculated they would Spend up to the CBT.
  9. Relax it just takes CraigSLOW a while to get there. Look how long it took him to name a pitching coach even though he’d been mentioned weeks before. Still got weeks to go before ST starts.
  10. I think Cora had a voice, and a hand in getting Bloom fired, but I don’t know how much voice he has now in the team’s direction. No one knows what roll he was offered in the front office like it isn’t crowded enough already. That might have changed since Breslow was hired also.
  11. All 3 of these means completely absolutely nothing. Once again outside of on here who in the Red Sox organization said the Red Sox went under the CBT to reset so they could go back over?🙈
  12. Outside of on here who said the Red Sox had money to play with? I asked a year ago when one poster on here kept saying how much money the Red Sox had to spend, and I asked the question then on who in the Red Sox organization said they would spend up to the CBT. They didn’t.
  13. The market has changed big time in the past few years, and it’s a whole lot different game now. Did anyone ever think Bogey would get $280M last year.
  14. True enough, and this is the worst time to be so in need of SP with so many help wanted signs out there throughout MLB.
  15. It took awhile for the Yam Man to be wined, and dined, and now it’s Snell’s, and Monty’s turn to see how much they can get out of some needy owner not named JH.
  16. I don’t know if it’s exactly waiting things out, and hopefully things will pick up after Snell, and Monty signs.
  17. Don’t get me wrong I’m well aware of the 78 win seasons, and I don’t have much, or little confidence in JH down to baseball ops to put together any kind of juggernaut, but I just can’t believe nothing will get done to improve the team. I’ve said from the beginning of FA that I Never expected the Red Sox to sign any of the high priced FA anyway, and that was even before the prices went up, so to me the team has done, or hasn’t done pretty much what i expected at this point. It seems lot of fans on here, and everywhere expected the Red Sox to do a lot more at this point, and that’s where the current anguish, and suffering comes in. Wishing, and hoping is not going to make JH do something, so I don’t bother.
  18. Last time I checked next season doesn’t start until March 28 in Seattle, which is pretty much 3 months away. I know the Red Sox have done pretty much squat to improve the team up to this point, but all this woe is me attitude on here is just cracking me up. Do you really think what the roster looks like right now will be the same roster that takes the field in Seattle? You guys can keep on shouting and pouting all you want if it makes you feel better, but I’ll wait to March 28 to see what things look like.
  19. I hope the Dodgers go 162-0 next year, and then lose in the first round of the playoffs.
  20. An always packed tourist trap.
  21. I would take the pulse down at Kowloon’s.
  22. When TW made the full throttle comment I don’t think the Red Sox thought the arms race would get expensive as it got for the Yam Man, and now the trickle down effect.
  23. I’ve said all along to trade for younger pitchers who still have control, but you guys keep bring up guys like Burnes who would be expensive to resign. You guys keep spitting into the wind thinking the Red Sox are going to outbid these big money teams. How’s that working out?
  24. Guys, guys, guys. Let’s see how the team looks at the end of ST, before the tar, feathers, and pitchfork are brought out. I guess I’m the only one who is not all up in arms over the Red Sox slow offseason so far. I guess that’s, because I never thought the Red Sox had a snowball’s chance in hell of landing the Big O, or the Yam Man in the first place, and I didn’t expect the Red Sox to sign any of the overhyped, over paid FA pitches, so I’m fine with that not happening either. Those of you who expected some of those things to happen, and have speculated on possible signings for a couple of months now I can understand your anger. Wishful thinking I get, but not the reality of it. I say it again to trade, trade, trade. Now if that doesn’t happen, and the Red Sox go into ST with pretty much what they have now I’ll be with you with the tar, feathers, and pitchforks. In the meantime I’m just sitting back, and watching the Dodgers build a super team, and waiting for others to overpay for what’s left of the starting pitching.
  25. Nothing else was reported, but that doesn’t mean the Red Sox couldn’t have gotten more for Betts. DD was working on a deal for Mookie during the 2019 season, but backed out. I wonder what would have been in that deal?
