  1. Houck would be neck, and neck with Koufax if he pitched back in the 60’s? Wow! All these things you mentioned here are just assumptions on what anyone would do, or wouldn’t do. Koufax would shut this 2024 Red Sox lineup down better than Sale recently did if he was pitching today, and the same with Drysdale, Gibson, or Juan M.🤭🙈
  2. Do you honestly think the Rays are as good a team as what they’ve been the last 4-5 years? They Are Not. Their pitching is nowhere as good, and hitting isn’t either. If you have a different opinion, and it makes you feel better that it makes the Red Sox looks better then think that way. Some teams like Tampa, and Toronto have dropped off. The Red Sox May be better, but then again maybe Toronto, and Tampa have come back down to their level. Take your pick.
  3. Yes it was good that the Red Sox swept Tampa, and are two games over 500, but this is still the same team that lost 2-3 games in St. Louis, and went to Tampa under 500.The ebb, and flow so far this season has been win some, lose some, win some, and lose some, and just like the game threads that can go gloom, and doom in 1 pitch the game to game is the same thing. Like I’ve been saying baseball is down, and Tampa is certainly not the same team pitching, or batting wise they have been the last 4-5 years, so yes this year the Red Sox have a chance, which is better than no chance. Heart, and soul, and grit i wouldn’t go that far. There is many rams out there just like the Red Sox, and remember the bar was set so low for the RedvSox before the season even started that two games over 500 looks a lot better to some than t really is.
  4. No game tonight? The C’s are the BIGGEST game in town. Go Celtics!
  5. Max you’ve beaten the ERA thing to death, and rightly so, but it’s still only a 500 team. ERA has been a great thing, but 4 injuries to starters already are not a good thing, and not a good sign this early in the season of things to come.
  6. True, and I don’t know if keeping him in the BP would have kept him healthy, but the Only healthy year he’s had was when he was in the pen.
  7. On paper yes, but you really can’t count on Story. Also you still got the NOshida contract to deal with.
  8. Not a good deal, but a money saver.
  9. Most of the moves that Moon suggest, which never happen would also cause other moves to be made also. It’s not just 1 move that would have to be made.
  10. As you can see with all the players who have played 1B this year Raffy isn’t even the 3rd emergency 1B.
  11. And if Story moves to 2B, which is most likely than going to 3B since Raffy is still entrenched there as is Casa at 1B.🤫
  12. Agree, and like I said earlier the Red Sox have a big need at 2B this year, but next year that need might not be there, or as big, so I don’t see Grissom getting nowhere near 5 years to prove himself at 2B.
  13. Isn’t it the Boston way with what have you done for me lately? Look at Raffy he can hit a HR in 1 AB, and he’s Devers Forevers, and the next AB he can K with 2 men on, and he Never Devers. How someone gets off to a start in Boston is always big for a new player. Duvall, and O’Neil got off hot, but Grissom just the opposite.
  14. 5 more years? He has to prove himself right now, because he might not get this chance again. The need is now, and next year maybe not so much depending on what happens with Mayer, and Story. The Ham Man is playing better than Grissom right now, so now this isn’t a 5 year trial period.
  15. I’m not giving a final grade to the trade, but like I keep saying the here, and now is what’s most important at the moment, and at the moment Sale is great, and Gus has pretty much sucked. I didn’t expect any great D from him at 2B either. If he was hitting better it wouldn’t look as bad, but he’s not. Still plenty of games left in the season for things to change though, and something probably will. Grissom is not this bad.
  16. Bottom line Sale over Grissom who hasn’t added any offense, or defense anyway.
  17. At the moment, which is most important, and where we are the Red Sox have pretty much traded Sale for nothing, and are paying Atlanta $17M to boot. Gus Grissom most likely isn’t this bad, and will come around to some extent. How good that is time will tell.
  18. Who expected this? Really? The team that traded for him, and then extended him, and got the Red Sox to pay $17M of his contract this year. That’s who!
  19. I could have understood more if Atlanta had to pay the whole contract.
  20. He’s healthy at the moment, and producing. Why is that so hard for you to comprehend? Wow! C’mon man have a little bit of a clue.
  21. NNNNNN. Overrated?
  22. Sale was here. The others wasn’t.🤭🙈
  23. Sale has also more than a proven record when healthy.
