Like Cora has said that what you do, or don’t do in October is what’s most IMPORTANT, and not what the farm ranking is. If the Red Sox do not play in the postseason again this year that will make it three years in a row, which is totally unacceptable IMO. Just imagine the Gaul of those fans that want to win now.🙈🤭

No one is saying Criswell is a 100 pitch guy. He had thrown 72, 79, and 80 pitches his last 3 starts, and only 52 today, and hadn’t been touched with 5 K’s. Detroit is far away from a murderers row, which they mentioned more than once today also on the telecast. Like I said it was all predetermined, and as good as Criswell was pitching it should have been changed. Having Hill as your next up guy didn’t seem like a good idea either. He just pitched yesterday, and just because he throws LH, which Criswell doesn’t, and had no problem mowing them down think Hill was a better option under the circumstances just seems like over managing, and after it was all said, and done it blew up in Cora’s face.

The guy most importantly had only thrown 52 pitches, and hadn’t given up anything, and I don’t think if they hadn’t shown Hill warming up no one would have expected that he would have been taken out. If Criswell would have come out, and given up 3 HR to start the 5th I don’t think many would have said he never should have started the 5th. Even the Yuckers in the NESN booth questioned the decision more than once. A predetermined over managing. IMO.

In that situation with the way he was pitching, and for a predetermined reason not only yes, but hell yes. Cora Over Managing once again, and NOT working out.

May be more enjoyable to watch, but that’s setting the bar pretty low if the Red Sox don’t make the postseason for the third year in a row. How’s it been since the AS break? How’s it been since Cora signed his extension? How’s it been since the trade deadline? It was thought the Red Sox did pretty good on the road trip though Baltimore, and Houston even though the Red Sox lost ground in the wildcard standings. Funny thing the standings don’t know, or care who you beat. Finally how’s it been since that road trip through Baltimore, and Houston. The Red Sox are now closer to teams behind them then they are to teams ahead of them like Detroit after taking 2-3 from Boston.

Cora said it was a predetermined plan to take Criswell out before the game even started for matchup purposes. Just an example of over managing, which Cora does often.

Picking up O’Neil was no big deal. Duval last year, and Renfroe, and his 96 RBI were added 2 years ago, so those kind of OF are easy to pick up. Weissert, Campbell, and Criswell is depth, but quantity, and not quality.

Bad luck, or bad judgement, but the 2 BP guys he picked up has pitched worse after coming to Boston.

I don’t see the Red Sox trading much young talent away for any starting pitcher.

Brez doesn’t get any atta boys for his trade deadline acquisitions either IMO. He looked pretty proud of himself at the time too.

How many Red Sox players were supposedly on the trading block last offseason, and are still with the Red Sox today? Story, Masa, Martin, and Jansen to name a few.

No one has said if Gio would have been signed without that Sale trade being made. IMO I don’t think so. Add it all up like I have mentioned before, and the Red Sox spent $35M instead of $27.5M on just Sale. Not a savings at all.

I don’t think anyone thought on the ND team going in to A&M was going to be easy especially with that young, inexperienced line. Not a great showing by the offense, but enough to come out with a win.

After all is said, and said again Chris Sale will win a Cy Young for another team, and the Red Sox will pay that team for him to do it. Win, win for the Braves. On the other side the Red Sox are in need, and still looking for starting pitching not named Hill, and Paxton who were picked up on the side of the road by Brez when they were hitchhiking. 🤭🙈.

Yes it was mostly the must win now crowd, Most importantly the players in the Red Sox clubhouse.

As I have said many times that these kind of things tend to work themselves out. It would be good to see Story Land stay open all year, and not down for maintenance, but even then no one knows what he has left anymore. His glove will still work, but his bat will be 4 years older now since we signed him come next year.

A 2-6 home stand. PATHETIC. 15 runs scored in 5 games against Toronto with 6 runs coming in 1 game. Also PATHETIC. Not being able to win at Fenway with a season 31-38 record. PATHETIC. And still despite all this the Red Sox are still in a postseason hunt.

BBB has had a pretty good Aug outside of the Arizona game. Should have 5 starts, or 6 starts left down the stretch, so we’ll have to wait, and see if he pitches as good in Sept.

Another good game, and another Sale Day last night as he picked up his league leading 15th win with a 6 IP- 6 H- 6K- 1 ER game.TO BAD the Red Sox didn’t have a pitcher like that.

Outside of Old Faithful (Hill) the Red Sox don’t have many other options then to keep using him. Chris Sale isn’t coming through that door.

Getting hit on the hand with the ball is not a sign of more injuries to come.
