  1. Sorry, but Marte is not the power hitter or position player we need.
  2. Marte does nothing for me. He's like 2/3 of the Alonso we lost.
  3. Sign both Bregman and Bichette. Not sure what we are waiting for?
  4. We should have signed him after the 2021 season (that may have been one of my first posts over here). Play him at 1st base now that the GM has failed at the Alonso signing.
  5. This is Red Sox front office fubar. That's a gut punch.
  6. With Diaz leaving the Mets, and Schwarber back to the Phillies, Alonso is going to draw a bidding war with the Mets now with a bigger purse. We need to get Alonso. What's the holdup?
  7. Oviedo at this point is a number 12. 3 years ago he pitched (32) almost half of the total number of games he's played in (81) over 6 seasons. I don't see this helping us.
  8. Toronto reportedly just signed Dylan Cease, improving their rotation for the near future.
  9. JT wants to play full time, not be a backup, or a platoon guy (and rightly so). The constant churn of lineups we put out (which are ridiculous change for changes sake) would likely impact him playing daily. Go get Alonso and Bichette first.
  10. I'm not necessarily opposed to the trade, just that Fitts is 10 years younger and far cheaper.
  11. I was kidding about the army thing. He's hit 49 HR's in a season twice. This last season his OBP was 0.298. 198 K's and 16 GIDP, doesn't help matters. And he's 35.
  12. The only player on KC I would want is Witt. Trade Duran,, Rafaela and x for him.
  13. The problem with Suarez is he'll be 35 (and could get drafted into the Venezuela army). His OBP the last few years has been terrible. At the most we would be looking at a one or two year rent option. Doesn't fill the hole for next 3 years.
  14. Paredes' home run spray chart makes him look like he's built for Fenway.
  15. Slap hitter without power. If his OBP was closer to 0.400 maybe as a 2nd baseman. Not as a 1st baseman. No way.
  16. The spray charts are always interesting to use to evaluate fits. Alonso this year used all fields. Schwarber was mainly a pull hitter.
  17. He's now free for any team to low ball. As a 3rd baseman, Murakami seems for real. If he's cheap, great. If he's like Yoshida, not so great.
  18. Bregman at 3rd, Story at short, Bichette at 2nd, Alonso at 1st. There is your infield.
  19. Like I said last year and will repeat for this coming year, forget about Casas, focus on signing Pete Alonso and first base isn't an issue for 5 years. We need power. And we need it now. Casas is too busy painting his fingernails.
  20. Ohtani is a monster. Nothing like him in my lifetime.
  21. Bregman's spray chart shows he love's Fenway and Houston.
  22. We need to get Alonso. The team has little to no power. The young guys seemed to melt during the dog days. Alonso is a gamer with power throughout the year.
  23. Or just a NY rumor?
  24. RIP. I was a fan of his game. He played with a lot of great players (from Rice, Boggs, Clemons, Evans, Buckner, Burks, Dawson, Baylor, Henderson, Pena, Vaughn, Reed, Barrett, Armas...).
