My only point is that while all things are possible, the skills necessary to win 2 of 3 vs NYY are not evident right now I would love to see the Sox take the first 2 and end the Yankees season but they will need to do what they have not done in September. 30th in runs ? Bad juju

I think even listing a Game 3 is wishful thinking. The pitching of the NYY'ers vs the Red Sox lineup would be too much. So, IMO , it does not matter too much how you organize the lineup or who is in it. No one is in a positive mode at bat. Of course, agreed, that if our pitching can keep the Yanks at 1 to 2 runs, or even a shutout like last night, then there's a chance for one win, and a Game 3 disappointment for the 99th time in history.

The season started with an extended team wide slump and now is ending with another. Hard to see the reason for multiple players not hitting but this is clearly a warm weather team, not a Spring nor Fall crisp nights at Fenway team. Luckily, they get to go South to NYC for the heat

I think it will come down to whether Gray wants to pitch 1 more year ( take the $30mm) or if he thinks he really wants to continue for 2+ years for maybe $50-$75mm. My advice to Sonny, take the RS $30m and. go have a nice life

I realize the RS do not need to win any remaining games But why was Miller who has messed up a couple recent games in for the 9th ? WHITLOCK might have been a better choice. But the real story remains the bats and the number of Ks, especially strike 3 takes
