  1. Sorry, but Cooper is Bobby D wearing a different number. Takes a cookie middle-middle, then chases low/inside. Talks to himself, like Casas does.
  2. TC always sounds like he is at the bottom of a 50' silo . That was a great inning by Criswell and didn't need explanation by O'B
  3. He is definitely calling the low pitch a strike
  4. Whoa, is that Cy Criswell out there or just dreaming?
  5. Cooper reminds me of Dalbec for some reason. May have been the beneficiary of a tough call on K-3
  6. Same issue on the lag time. I was hoping Devers still had time to get a hot but he oddly DP'ed
  7. The mysterious Mr. Grissom. I told you he doesn't exist and if he , by chance, does, he is not a warrior. This guy makes me sick
  8. Cooper Criswell making his 3rd start for the Red Sox in '24 .Coop is an Angels/Rays alum with a SSS for a career with just under 50 total innings in MLB. Basically a mid-level reliever now starting for Boston. Logan Webb, RH'er making his 7th appearance is doing well (3-1) for the 14-15 Giants . Webb has thrown 38+ innings in his prior 6 starts, so he will get some innings eaten typically. 2.33 ERA and a decent 1.11 WHIP . Red Sox will close out Mar/April '24 with a winning record heading into May. May features 28 games, with 10 in the AL East, Rays for 7, and the dreaded O's for 3. For anyone looking for a Yaz sighting, Mike Yastrzemski will be there. Started slow this season but much warmer over his past 7 games going 8 for 18, with 2 HRs and a 1.252 OPS, , but .780 over his last 15 games ( 41 AB's)
  9. Let's give Dansby credit for 85 mph max throwing speed per the Statcast provided by MVP. I will guess that he was between 180-200' feet from home when he might have caught the ball. At 85 mph, the ball would have travelled 180' in 2.9 seconds on a perfect line from moment of release. Allow a full second for catch ( Duran could start), turn around, set feet , grip ball and start momentum for the throw. Total catch, turnaround, throw time on straight line 3.9 seconds Duran can run at at max 29mph, no slide, so he theoretically could have covered the 90' in 3.82 sec. beating even a perfect throw at Dansby's max throwing speed. The only thing that could have gotten Duran out, except for any mistake of his own , would be if Angel Hernandez was either the HP umpire and CB Bucknor at 3B or vice versa.
  10. To clarify the 3 batter rule , Martin could have been done after getting the last out of the 7th , but once he came back for the 8th, he was obligated , barring injury, to pitch to a minimum of 2 more batters. In this case they both hit soft singles . Martin did not NEED to pitch to Tauchman to satisfy the 3 man rule . That was a decision to leave him in by AC. Got burned by a hot hitter , but set up the comeback. Duran definitely had problems with his options from 3rd base on O'Neill's shallow fly against a drawn in infield, leading to the winning run. But Duran also had the 2 run triple with 2 outs in the 6th providing the extra runs that allowed Martin to give up a tie, not a deficit. I only hope the positioning of Dalbec in the 7th was from the bench ( vs a LH hitter) because I truly hope no player is that stupid on his own.
  11. A Win and the streak goes on. Odd plays in bottom 9
  12. Pull this one out and keep the Win. Do not go to 10th....
  13. AC thought he was going to get to the 9th with a 2-3 run lead and then use Jansen, who has not been perfect himself. Martin's HR ball was middle of the plate but a bit down, unlikely to get over the CF wall but reality can be a bitch
  14. Dalbec literally does not have the faintest clue when thrown a good fastball. The big exaggerated leg kick is the worst thing he can do. I bet Cooper is on the field Tuesday at 1B.
  15. Who positioned Dalbec on the last hitter facing Houck ? Two ground balls that inning eluding Sox infielders by a hair
  16. My man Duran buys some insurance with a strong triple to right-Center driving in 2.
  17. Houck is dealing some hardball now. Another shutout working with a decent pitch count through 6. The key ---he is throwing a lot of strikes with movement on the pitch.
  18. We relegate Valdez to the dumpster of baseball, but he did just MAKE A PLAY to prevent a hit.
  19. Time for some more runs. This game won't finish 2-0. What if we could borrow some runs from Saturday.
  20. Abreu showing some skills in deep RF. Great running catch. He has been maturing daily after a cold start.
  21. Put the ball in play and something may happen . See Dalbec, see Wong
  22. Are 67% of Dalbec's 6 hits infield dribblers ? But he turns that 60'er into a double by stealing second ( poor throw, I know) . Jarren Duran has lost his discipline on pitch judgement
  23. Giants coming in Tuesday for 3 , with a 14-15 record. Every team in the NL West including the overpaid Padres and WS Diamondbacks have net losing records, except for the Mookie Betts Dodgers.
  24. Wrong about Wong. He controlled that AB, didn't chase and got the rbi single. He's playing because he is performing at a high level with the bAT
