We , being TalkSox geniuses, are not worried about the CBT. Our buddy JH and his protege CB are very aware of it. The prior CB, CBO, made a major mistake a few years ago on that matter.

Matz is a plug, not an asset of significant value. He may help a tired BP and may actually be a strike thrower which could be why RH'ers hit him well. Matz is now listed on the 40 man roster. Interesting that with Casas in somewhat no man's land looking forward ( needs to re-earn 1B) that Bres traded the highest ranking 1Bman in AAA -
I'm thinking that Breslow said, what the Sox need is another version of myself from 2013 and picked up LH'er Matz. Not a splash move but Matz could be a 2-3 inning opener , or a reliever taking some pressure off Bernardino. Will be surprised if Craig does anything more significant . The reality is that Breslow likes this roster and JH likes its cost. So status quo reigns in the Nation.

All W's count but the opportunity today to take this series and break even over the past 12 post A-S break games is fairly urgent. I was wrong to accuse the highly effective Mr. Wilson of being ineffective, when all the time I was actually referring to his close friend Mr. Alcala . What if this game had actually been a 1 or 2 run affair. These meatballs giving up multi-run HRs are why we need BP help

One of the reasons this season could get even more frustrating----when you think about games like last night, the oppo walkoffs and the 1 run record for the season, this Red Sox team could actually be right at first place, not scuffling as the 3rd WC in AL. Just a few improvements early on and this team coulda been somebody. Why do I think they will continue to bounce up/down but eventually be in the WC mix. A couple of lucky smart pickups by guys who get hot in August/September could make that happen. Only 48 hours to wait and see.

Because it was tied after 8 innings ( 3-3), the Twins must have their AB's in the 9th where they could lose, tie or win the game. The last half of 9th could be played tomorrow prior to the next game. Messes with the BP though because the Sox will need a closer effort, then play the whole next game. Look out if the Twins tie it up and go Xtra's

And several of us too. He had accomplished nothing to warrant the extension. His hot start in April proved a bit deceptive. People talk about the FO/Cora jerking Devers around, well I contend they may have really messed up Kristian's mind.

They brought Hamilton up for the reason you saw in top 9, PLUS he may be in a better mindset than Campbell right now. Hamilton may be able to handle being on a yo-yo for the rest of this year . I don't know why Campbell is struggling so much except for reasons set out way early in the thread.

Yoshida was effective in the past when he would slash a ball to the left side/field. This long outreach so he can rollover to 2B is deadly. No walks at all for him after 40+ AB's ? Masa fail.

Fitts is virtually a BP game since he has not cleared 4 innings in several starts. He has the tools to be a decent pitcher but not enough command /control. You need some precision to routinely screw up MLB hitters

Players like Casas and Yoshida, maybe Wong , Hamilton , K Campbell will show up at Ft. Myers next ST but unless they can show something special, they may not make the 26 since even better youngsters are behind them. Bres would do well to try and clear out a few of them over the winter. Just not enough yet ready for mound duty.

If you guys see the commercials on NESN, I was impressed by the one showing Wally and Casas laying on the grass looking at clouds. for Mass Mutual. Casas says, i need to look out for my future . That you do Triston before you become the next in a regrettable line of Red Sox flameouts who pass out of mind and sight in their 3rd/4th years.
