  1. Rafaela at SS. Hardly his fault.
  2. Kelly with a dominant 10th based on Dom Smith's ability to jump
  3. I think we were patient with Grissom already in March, and April and early May. It is now mid-May. Early is a vague concept for those who need to excuse their lack of success.
  4. The Sox may start charging O'Neill for a ticket as he continues to watch the pitches through K3
  5. It's a rare hitter whose BA is identical to his OBP. Could it be he has not taken a single walk in 35+ AB's. Nah, couldn't be that , could it ? I'm actually glad i jumped his stuff when he wasn't even showing up .
  6. Watch out for that Arozarena guy, Nick . OOPs, too late. Slaten puts a little lighter fluid on the charcoal just to warm things up.
  7. Bruins or Sox, similar approaches to offense. Nice HR by Cedanne. Had the Bruins 2nd goal ben overturned for interference, it's a good thing the game is in FL
  8. Worst stick handling, passing, organized zone entries I have seen in a long time. defensemen frequently caught up in their own feet by the goal.
  9. Yes, Nick was sharp in the 5th inning, as was Mcguire's throw out of the runner attempting grand theft.
  10. No shutout for the Bruins, so they may actually have to play a little better. Outscored by Florida 15-2 in 2nd/3rd periods
  11. Dom Smith, he of little talent, shows what can happen when you do swing the bat and gets Boston the lead at 2-1, followed by Grissom who watches strike 3 slide by with Smith waiting to score from 2nd base
  12. Watching more of the Bruins, than the Sox. Neither very exciting, though the bruins do lead 1-0 I did see Duran, Abreu and O'Neill all take 3rd strikes, unlike Wong who puts his bat on the ball and gets hits through infields. If the Sox as a whole are trying to outthink the pitch call , I have a different tactic for them. See the ball, hit the ball. Get the bat off your shoulder especially with 2 strikes.
  13. The Bruins get a quick one on the board. Now all they need is a shutout to seal the game.
  14. I really go-pher Pivetta. Fall behind again in the 1st.
  15. Sounds like casas redux. Has trouble with FB's above 92 , like so many young hitters.
  16. So you are saying there is a chance that Nick Pivetta can reverse his karma and get these guys out ? Instead watch out for Action Jackson the .059/.223 catcher hitting 9th. Arozarena is not statting well himself at .159/.586
  17. In truth, I did not check that stat but not sure how relevant especially since the 1st title since 1918 was now 20 years ago, and the last 6 years ago, while inflation since 2020 on a national basis has increased 20% . So I will say that salaries for ballplayers since 2018 have increased significantly without regard to ability, talent, work ethic or baseball production levels. What I do know is that this team is a middle -middle doomed to mediocrity bunch of nice guys. I think several of us saw that coming out of ST. Some didn't come out of ST, particularly Vaughn Grissom.
  18. Just can't keep digging the hole early and trying to come back every night. Why they don't hit at Fenway is beyond me. All factors in their favor except a competent opponent. The real answer lies in analyzing the lineup and realizing you are playing with about 5 or 6 of 9 legitimate MLB starters .
  19. The question on Devers contract is, will it be the last one in the Henry era that will go 10 years at $30+ million? If so, get ready for a lot of .500 seasons which is where you are living right now.
  20. Horseshit umpires deciding games. Reminds me of some NHL officials
  21. Grissom screwed on a bad call by a Chump with an early dinner reservation. It's ok though, Vaughn can't hit anyway, so far
  22. Smith is a sack of crap. I'd rather watch Bobby D K
  23. Another potential winnable game going down by the stern. Refsnyder doesn't hit the lefty , Wong does, but why, oh why, in key situations does Devers take strike 3 ?? I do not know.
  24. The sometimes extreme defensive positioning seems to hurt the Sox more than help. Let the fielders play with 10 feet of their standard positioning and get some outs. Weissert will need to bail this out, but not by walking a .187 hitting rookie.
  25. On cue, Vaughn Grissom launches a scalding rocket bloop to Rf, probably 50mph exit velo. Now 5 for 32 . I know, it's early, he missed ST, still catching up to MLB speed. No, this guy is not that good with a bat. Everyone trot out his lifetime stats to show otherwise.
