It was intentional. Grissom does not exist to me . Just another lost soul wandering in the wilderness. When he does come in from the cold, he'll certainly get a warm welcome from his 4 or 6 fans .
Almost humorous, how about 1000 preseason posts emphasized how important injury avoidance would be to this team's ability to compete.
Here it is April 17 and 60% of the presumed starters are either wiped out fully ( Giolito) or partially ( Pivetta/Whitlock). Speaking of knocked out, the 2 biggest RH bats (Story/O'Neill) needed for a full season are either gone for the year or nursing a headache missing a couple games at RH friendly Fenway. The only other RH "slugger" (Dalbec) is "a laugh until you cry" O for the season with mucho K's
Truly amazing how the wheels can fall off after just 10% of scheduled games. If there was any help available in the system guys like Dalbec, Jacques, Hamilton etc. would not be on the 26.
How much history does it take to develop a theory that for some reason Whitlock's body cannot live up to the rigors of MLB pitching for 5 innings, every 5 or 6 days ? He is just not going to be that guy. He can be effective and of value but in a more limited role than starting pitcher, with 6 inning expectations for 30 starts a year.
Late Tuesday or early Wednesday in EDT: Devers says his left knee hurts, never experienced this before. Whitlock says his oblique hurts , no idea if it's significant. This is without a doubt the most damned team since Lucifer took on Michael for a chance to be the security guard in heaven.
Breslow silent as he checks his contract . Maybe he now needs to actually perform by finding bodies who can play baseball. Sox can salvage the series tie by winning the next two.. Laughing all the way to the ticket office.
Dalbec's OPS is now about .050. As Youk said, He never is anything but down 0-2. Pitchers are throwing to the catcher only. No team will ever claim him, take him off the 40 and promote ANYONE or buy someone who can see the ball
Don't ever mistake Winckowski with anything other than a mid-inning reliever . Jansen screwed the Sox 7 way to Sunday tonight with his 9th inning. Blown save, wasted relievers and a loss to boot.
I concede the rankings but have a new #26---Kenley Jansen
This was a come from behind win, that was exciting until this POS took the mound. I guess it is only because the Sox are doomed this season to a non-playoff slot that Jansen is tolerable as a uni wearer
After that leadoff double, just want everyone to be sure in knowing that I truly dislike Jansen, and can only mock cheer him. I think he is worn out and won't contribute much more this year
If Devers was pulled for the shoulder issue, I will again say , and brilliantly so, that Rafael should have gone on the 10day IL a week ago. Yes, he helped save this game , but if he misses another 3 or 4, what is going to happen all season.
In a 6-5 game, wouldn't your weakest hitter ( Cedanne) at least tried to bunt Hamilton to 2nd. No, swinging at an unhittable pitch near your feet is a better tactic.
