  1. Looking at 4-11 in May after this one . Playing a team that started poorly but seems to be getting it together, passing a sinking ship headed the other way. This blowup is against a team who will still be -5 under .500, and a -44 run differential ( projected)
  2. Cora gets bitten by the bullpen demons again. If you look at Slaten''s season stats, you get a good picture. Just a bad night, right ? Look again at his last 7 games where he has blown up like a cheap balloon.. Tonight makes it worse.
  3. Was he sent ?, Looked to me like Romy never hesitated and thought the LF'er might just slop the ball back. Refsnyder comes through with the 2 out hit keeping the line moving. take the lead now
  4. Bernandino did not have very much in his arm tonight. Blows the hold and needs to come out now
  5. Maybe now that Moon has shown that the vast majority of Raffy Devers HR's were significant when hit, it may be time to lighten up on observations of the rich , young Dominican. Grissom was trash even before showing up . Too bad guys, his earlier MLB activity and stats cannot save him now. It most likely is time to note just how bad O'Neill has become over the month of May.
  6. Bernie throws the worst pitch of the game, his first, and shuts down the Cardinals on a trick play, Wong to Devers
  7. Ok, so raffy does get another HRT, this time at a meaningful point in the game, now 1-1. The pitch was So-Lo and so was the HR.
  8. keep wishing for the miracle. They should win this weekend.
  9. Devers is a f***wit with a coconut for a brain, Pastrnak is is just a loser with limited abilities .
  10. Losing 10-5 to the struggling Cardinals is typical for the now struggling Red Sox , who are below .500 and slowly drowning in a sinking car. This team has 13 games left in May . Better go 7-6 or give it up for the year.
  11. On main threads there is a little discussion on the advisability of extending O'Neill . Must still have their calendars tuned to April. SSS, but in last 15 games, 55 AB's + 8 BB's, leading to a .164/.579 slash, 1 HR, a 3 runner leading to his 8 RBI's. The big story is the 29 K's in those 63 PA's.(46%). How much did the noggin His banging with Devers create issues for O'Neill ? His last 7 games are actually less productive than last 15, sporting a .120 /.547, with the 3 run HR being his only bright spot. I'm sure he can come back around but not helping right now.
  12. Griossom sucked even when he wasn't available. Makes you appreciate Valdez who rarely , but more than once got a big hit.
  13. Bloom got fired , probably for thinking the 2023/24 Sox needed a $16million closer. I would payout his remaining contract amount in July to move him for just 1 decent pitching prospect .
  14. Positive story /interview with Casas by Ian Browne, the ultimate homer, about anticipating a return by end of his 60 day IL, June 21. That would be great but despite Triston's optimism, things rarely work out on a tight schedule, and he will still need to get back to MLB speed. The bigger worry is that he will always be one power swing from reinjuring the regrown cartilage. Good luck , buddy, we sure miss you.
  15. So , arguably the best pitcher on the team that is momentarily 22-21, has a record of 3-5. I agree that pitcher's W-L's do not tell much of a story, but this one tells me that Tanner Houck does not get much run support, nor do any other Sox starters. 4-8 in last 12 with Sox scoring 2 or less in 6 losses and 3 in the other 2. But look at the defense again. Wong had the guy stealing 3B. He would have slid into the tag had Devers caught the throw. Cooper allows a potential DP bouncer to eat him up instead of attacking the ball. Cannot play defense on your heels. Win one, lose one, rinse and repeat.
  16. Rafaela with a nice pick up and throw on a slow bouncer from SS. Houck handles the Rays through 3.
  17. The guy was referring to his own crotch
  18. Red Sox bottom 1st was almost unrecognizable, except for Raffy's K. Duran uses the Lf wall for an opening double, Abrue moves him up on a flyball, Wong gets the sac fly on a long flyout. Good situational hitting
  19. The second walkoff win of the year, when Romy Gonzalez comes through. Great work by another rookie Kudos to Bernandino and before him Kelly
  20. Fully agree on the glove hand transfer. was going to mention, maybe he plays SS with an OF'ers oversized glove that makes the transfer mor difficult. You saw it correctly. I picked on the wrong point
  21. Upon further review, i will say that the Rays are as bad at baseball as the Sox on occasion. Taking strike 3 on a 3-2 count from Bernandino is awful batting. WTF was he thinking?
  22. FFS, I didn't say the throw wasn't his fault. It was about why a rookie has to learn the 2 most key defensive positions. You should be more worried about f***ing Devers grounding out to 2nd instead of winning the game
  23. If devers is worth a damn he will end this game before Cedanne has to catch
  24. The intent was to indicate that having a virtual rookie bouncing between CF and SS is on the organization . See my comment about the throw did not need to be rushed. But that is what happens when inexperience meets pressure
  25. Inability to make fairly routine plays in the infield . That was a slow ground ball, but the throw didn't need to be that rushed.
