  1. Houck can hardly get a run or two in 7 innings, but Bello gets gifts well before Xmas. This inning will be a clue as to where this kid's ability may or may not be.
  2. LOL, another wicked smash pop-up by Devers that the O's failed to catch, back up 4-3 thanks to Duran and Raffy "Pops" to you
  3. I wish people were more focused on the results than the Sox payroll. A cheap #4 pitcher is still exactly that
  4. Or his head.
  5. Grissom only reached the ball with a dive into the OF grass, and sort of turned the wrong way for a throw to first. Again pretty marginal shot at the runner.
  6. That play could have been a marginal shot at a DP, softly hit, Grissom was positioned well to right of second for the LH hitter. He would have to have been closer to the base for a shot at DP
  7. Then gives up a 2 run single on the next 0-2 count
  8. Turns out he does not have either command nor control
  9. I have seen enough of Bello to save me from watching him through the rest of his extension. Turns a 2-0 lead into a 3-2 shitshow , still with only 1 out.
  10. Although very unlikely to mount a comeback in O town, twice the Red Sox have runners in scoring position, with 1 out, and quickly K the next two lineup slugs . Overall they continue to show not much situational hitting/contact . Not much swing discipline, and a wandering umpire
  11. Is there or isn't there a 10 run rule ? Nuboy Keller reached his level of incompetency in the 7th
  12. I can't verify it without much statistical research, but why does it seem that most Sox batters come out of the on dfeck circle down 0-2 in the count ? Why do so many middle-middle average FB's result in foul balls. Why take strike 3 called ?
  13. While you cannot presume DP's, the plays not made always haunt. 2 out hitting ( or not) can define games. Playing from behind puts added pressure on teams.
  14. Kenley looking pretty good , shuts the door with 2K's and a dribbler. Any win, even 2-1 is good. The inability to score runs at Fenway continues. Today's win belies the general lack of support for the still impressive starting pitching despite Crawford and Pivetta's slip ups. Maybe the guys can hit in Baltimore or less.
  15. O'Neill finally owns up to a sore knee as affecting his hitting. Should have said so before the last 10 K's Looking for Tanner Houck to come in and be the STOPPER . The one who puts an end to losing streaks, even if only 2 games long. Get today's game and goon to Baltimore to pound those rag arms.
  16. Regrettable, another Fenway Failure. Failed to get a good game out of Pivetta, failed to get a hit until the 7th ( then 3 runs eventually), failed to get a big hit in 9th with two on, Cooper failed to get a fair call from the HPump. Fortunately, the boys go on the road to Baltimore after Sunday's game where they can prosper by batting first, but not last.
  17. Red Sox finally show some life in the bottom 7th and score 2 with 3 hits, including a Rafaela RBI . But have no fear, Thrower Zach Kelly gives up a 2out HR to settle Brewer's lead at 6-2 , top 8th.
  18. Bulletin: This just in---Sox now no-hit at home through 6 innings.
  19. I'm saying when you are no-hit through 4 , trailing 5-0 at home, you have only 2 chances to win, and neither one is very likely to occur. How do you give up 5 runs after 2 outs ?
  20. Brewers don't seem to be chasers, so Pivetta's curve does not entice them.
  21. 2 out, often 2 strike pitching. Milwaukee swinging the bat, not looking for walks. Game is about done at 5-0
  22. Pivetta thinking two outs makes an inning. Nick, it's 3, buddy
  23. Pivetta is the one Boston pitcher living off the fastball. Overall he uses it about 46% and in St. Louis he went about 64% FB. Dodged a bullet in the 2nd, although the phat phuque fan had an early exit. How do you explain that to friends/family.
  24. Yes, anything over the plate about thigh high
  25. Get us a win, Moon. Pivetta will get 6+ innings, giving up one solo HR. O'Neill will hit today as will Grissom.
