  1. Trevor Story has a .289/.339/.489 slash line vs. LHP. At the very least, they need to start benching Story vs. RHP. He could platoon 2B with Hamilton if they ever moved Campbell to 1B. I would say the same of Campbell but I want him to get his AB's in and evolve. EDIT: This is until he is DFA'd
  2. I won't argue against that
  3. That wasn't a direct comparison of Story but rather the concept of the sunk cost fallacy.
  4. Well, Masa is also injured. Like legit injured, I think we all speculated he wasn't but apparently he actually is. But at least Masa can still hit and get on base. But we don't need a DH.
  5. Conversely, if people gave up on their investments too early, they'd constantly be buying high and selling low.
  6. Especially a players 1st year in pro ball. If the swing and miss is there, that gets me pretty excited no matter what the stat line looks like.
  7. I mean in a perfect world anyone would want that. If you owned a stock of company xyz, and its value cratered, you'd want it to perform and regain it's value whether you keep it OR you decide to sell it. But this is baseball, and just like in finance at a certain point you have to learn to cut your losses. We may very well be there with Story and I CERTAINLY wouldn't argue against anyone saying we are there now.
  8. I mean, we got a stiff playing SS right now. I'd rather have a stiff at 3B than a stiff at SS.
  9. Mayer
  10. LOL, that's a very weird way of looking at it. Do guys just stand still and only make the same amount of plays that come right at them? and are you seriously comparing Raffy to Bregman. Come on man Bregman very clearly is a better defender with more range who gets to and makes more plays.
  11. Bregman has certainly made a few more errors this year in an uncharacteristic fashion, but those aside he's been really really good at third base.
  12. Even more of a reason to do it right now. Unless they plan on trading Duran, or sitting someone for Anthony.
  13. They could load up on prospects and make moves at the deadline. Looking ahead, I'd want target pitchers with more than .5 years of control. Get a guy to help you down the stretch this year and next.
  14. They also started working KC out at 1B before Bregman went down. Between that and Story laying an egg I don't think any can definitively say the plan hasn't either changed or other options are being explored.
  15. So what. You going to roll with Mayer/Story/Hamilton up the middle all year? I'd rather let Campbell work thru it at 2nd and get Anthony into the lineup somehow. The youth can either get the team going, or get experience to be better suited to get going next year. But at this point you're wasting free time from Anthony in AAA.
  16. Rafaela's value is mostly tied into his defense. I think you have to keep him in CF. There's only a few ways the Sox could really fit Anthony in. If Devers would move to 1B it would open up the lineup to bring up Anthony and rotate him with Abreu/Duran in the outfield and at DH. A trade. They would have to trade Duran, Abreu, or Rafaela. It's not trading seasons right now, so it might be hard to move a player at this moment. Lastly, the Sox could just move Anthony to 1B. Which is overall a horrible ideal, but it might be their best option for 2025. They might have to sit him down and tell him he is in their long term plans for the OF but for 2025 or at least the next few months they want him to learn some 1B to break him into the majors quicker. I wonder how well Mayer/Campbell/Anthony play off of each other once they're all in the majors at the same time.
  17. Eventually he will be CF/RF. Sometime between now and the start of 2026. rafaela or Abreu will be out. Either by trade or reduced role
  18. Of course it has range, that’s why it’s called the “range rover”
  19. Mayer has a 1.000% fielding percentage in the majors. He’s obviously the greatest 3B of all time. Maybe we should move him to SS can’t argue against that
  20. Unfortunately there’s no much to be done this time of year. It’s like being mad you can’t go to the store to pick up milk. They open at 6 and it’s 4 am. teams that will stop at the deadline aren’t selling yet. This is why teams typically go with in house solutions. Like Toro or Devers….or you know Toro.
  21. Hopefully the kid goes 5/5 and plays stellar defense. he doesn’t hit as well against lefties, it’s one of his few knocks. Not a finished product but he’s ready. Obviously I want to see him play well, but I’ll get a chuckle if he makes an error and people lose their minds. Let’s remember it’s his first big league start. i never would have guessed Anthony would have been the last one up of the big three but here we are.
  22. I don’t think all your posts are lame. I just disagree with that one you made
  23. If it was a fake injury the players association would be up in arms over the Sox FO. at this point.
  24. You take the best player available. Everytime all the time. you can always trade for pitching e.g. Crochet/Sale
