  1. The problem with putting posters on ignore, is that anytime you start reading this forum without being logged in you see what that person says anyways. Also, you still see what they write when other quote them. The last year, I've tried to just literally ignore all the dumb crap, that's not to say If I don't ever respond to people I think your point is dumb. You step away from this forum for a day or two, or even just a few hours and stuff gets buried. I don't always got time to go back and get caught up. Also, most of the conversation in here is often the same thing being said over and over and over again. And over. and over. and over again.
  2. Well, then look at his body of work prior. Regardless. His best stat this season is his w-l. None of his stats are elite or overly impressive. 3 BB/9 7.2 SO/9 8.2 H/9 and a 4.21 whip suggests he’s been helped by good defense and playing in Milwaukee. im not trying to poo poo Preister, but it’s not like he’s been this godly pitcher this year. It’s unlikely he receives any CY-Young votes, unlike someone like….Nick Pivetta
  3. The fact of the matter is you have to trade one of Rafaela/Duran/Abreu this offseason. you have to make room for Anthony out there. its not like you’re not going to get a haul for some of those guys. And be well off with Anthony in there everyday
  4. May looked stellar in his last outing, wonder if the Sox are able to unlock something here. I wouldn’t hate extending him if they have.
  5. Toro served his purpose and did his job, but his tenure has last way too long. originally against acquiring a 1b I had changed my tune, due to Toros continued struggles but also Mayer going down. Very surprised in hindsight the Sox didn’t get a 1B rental. Password may be the answer. I think his stats could take a big dive at the MLB level and he is going to struggle against against MLB pitching, but he’s got some pop and I think he’s going attack mistake pitches and get his shots in. I suspect he might struggle against righties which is not what you wanna see with a guy with platoon concerns. still, he may be a better option than Toro.
  6. You have no idea Preister would be this good with the Sox. The only evidence we have up to this point was the fact that he wasn’t.
  7. I’ll take my victory laps on Giolito and Story now. I knew if healthy and kind right those two would produce, and they have.
  8. I understand that, but by all accounts he will be fine to pitch in 2027. Why wouldn’t you want to see what he can do? If he’s down performance was due to an injury this year and he’s anything close to what he was last year that’s lot of value. there’s almost zero risk and all upside in keeping him for 2027
  9. Permanently? He’s 27, has 4 more years of team control left and 2 option years. He’s absolutely fine as a depth option. Permanently seems a bit extreme
  10. They have two years of team control left with Tanner
  11. lol, I’d have better luck shopping my pocket lint on eBay.
  12. I love how Breslow missed the boat but the guy wasn’t traded. Every team in baseball failed to trade for Ryan. He wasn’t moving
  13. There’s no way the Sox do that, and he’s likely not opting out.
  14. I was just thinking the other day that in recent years it really feels like the level of talent that moves around the deadline has really fallen off.
  15. Add. After June 1st Story's K% is 25% which is fine.
  16. I remember at the time all who were against Story were convinced he was a downgrade over Bogaerts. At the time of the signing Story had the same exact away OPS away from Coors field as Bogaerts did. No one is trying to say Story is Aaron Judge, just that he's a good player who is finally healthy.
  17. I get that, but I think we have to consider other factors and put that all in to context. He was either playing hurt, or never had enough time to get going throughout his tenure here in Boston. If you want to look at the larger sample size then I COULD counter with saying what he has done the past two months is more in line with his career norm than the previous two years. This includes his defense which has been solid.
  18. I don't expect this team to win a world series, and I'm certainly not betting on it or expecting it, but I think they have enough talent on this roster that if they got hot and stayed hot at the end of the year.....they could surprise a lot of people. Obviously every season stings when you don't win the last game, but I could feel good about a playoff berth with these youngsters getting a series or two of experience in the postseason. I remember being disappointed during those 2016 and 2017 seasons, but I think the experience they earned those years helped them tremendously in 2018,m and obviously JDM and Price helped push them over that hump.
  19. This team is easily the best team they've had since 2021. Hopefully they have some magic like that team did.....hopefully just a few games more magic.
  20. He probably is a better option than Buehler at this point. May will probably get a shot at a start next, Love it or hate it the Sox traded for him. They might like him, and see something in his delivery or pitch mix that they can tinker with to get him better. And if May lays a bunch of eggs Criswell will probably get another shot. Or, if Harrison starts to look good they may give him a shot at the 5th spot as well.
  21. There’s a saying. There’s no such thing as a bad one year deal
  22. He pitched a good game, but do we think he’s an ACE or he transformed into what he’s not been overnight? The Astros also gave him a LOT of outs too. He will be up again at some point
  23. Sandoval was always about 2026, there was a chance he might pitch at the end of this year. Thats no looking like a reality now so we are back on it being all about 2026
