Part of the problem with NYY fandom is that a s*** ton of people who grow up in NYC as Yankees fans end up leaving NYC when they grow up. This migration happens in all cities but especially NYC. It's just how it goes. I'll probably be out of NYC within the next couple of years myself. We get replaced by people from all of over the country/world who don't know s*** about the team, but just become Yankees fans by default. I would say that explains the majority of fairweather fans who only sprout up when the team is doing well. And also how there are so many displaced Yankees fans around the country. Brooklyn is a haven for hipsters, noobie fans, and the dreaded hipster Yankee fan. Enjoy your stay!

Moreland could possibly be in. Surprisingly first base in the AL has been pretty weak. Jose Abreu is the only other guy I can think is worthy.

Still too early to say, all are pretty young. But I think Mateo ends up as the biggest non-factor. Maybe he can be an MLB pinch runner. As for Fowler, I think he'll end up as an averagish bat with plus defense and speed. And who the hell knows about Kap. He has high end potential but has barely thrown more professional innings than I have. The biggest skill any pitcher can have is availability, and he gets a 0 out of 80 rating there.

Something off with those Astros pitchers. Better RPM and velocity on all those guys who came over.

Easy to second guess now that we lost. The offense gave CC a five run lead and he blew it. Then they gave the bullpen a four run lead and they blew it. Against a subpar team like that 10 runs should have been enough, but our pitching was s***. As a manager Boone gets some blame but ultimately CC and the bullpen deserve 90% of the blame.

German threw a 6 inning no hitter with Sanchez catching. So I don't think it's a Sanchez issue, it's a control issue with German. He has great stuff but when he's off he has no clue where the ball is going. And he clearly wasn't afraid to put balls in the dirt considering that's where like 50% of his pitches ended up. Blocking balls is obviously Sanchez's biggest weakness (and only weakness in my opinion) but any catcher would have struggled catching German last night

WAR was created as a way to compare other players to Mike Trout's greatness, so obviously nobody else would be ahead of him.

I like Hicks but last year he was pretty mediocre/below average at the plate for half of the season. He has a great eye but his bat to ball skills don't seem that great. Maybe that's who he is as a player? And if Hicks continue to hit .220 I could see Frazier eating into his playing time.
