  1. Second prospect was Juan de Paula. Not a bad haul for the Giants, who would have otherwise gotten nothing for McCutchen after the season. Both players are top 30 prospects within the organization (high 20's) but were Rule 5 eligible after this season. Giants also ate some money to help with our LT situation. Pretty good trade for both sides.
  2. Yesterday's turn of events was a serious gut punch. If it wasn't for wanting to see McCutchen play tonight, I'd probably be taking a few day hiatus from watching baseball.
  3. Anybody is better than Shane Robinson
  4. Didi and Sanchez should be back this weekend. Replacing Higashioka with Sanchez and Voit/Torreyes with Didi are a couple of significant offensive upgrades. Time for the offense to get into a groove.
  5. I'm not falling for that trap again. Good Gray one good start does not make. Lynn looked good yesterday. Just some bad defense and seeing eye hits did him in. He has pitched as well as you can ask for a #5 starter.
  6. The Sox were undoubtedly the better team that series. But the Yankees had the head-to-head lead coming into that series. So what does that mean? Apparently nothing. Just like the Sox head-to-head advantage will mean nothing when they face off for 6 more games and possibly again in the playoffs. Both teams are pretty evenly matched when at full strength. As stressful as it would be for all of us, I think the baseball world deserves another NYY-BOS postseason series.
  7. Yanks have been playing well without Judge et al but yesterday really exposed their lineup. Rodon was good but still hittable.. when you have Luke Voit batting clean up you know there are problems.
  8. While I don't think learning English should be a requirement for living and working in the U.S., it certainly would be beneficial. Almost every higher earning job (besides being an athlete) and most above minimum-wage jobs in this country require you to know English.
  9. I feel like the same can be said of Pedroia nowadays
  10. We'll keep them handy for ya after the Sox have another early postseason exit
  11. I'm assuming Chapman hits the DL. All we need is a couple more SPs on the DL and we can field a full team!
  12. 10 day DL. Why not. Let's see how many players can land on the DL before this team starts scoring negative runs.
  13. Sale could either be fine or injured. It's like that Shrodinger's cat thing. They don't want the MRI because they fear what it may reveal.
  14. Donaldson at first would be pretty awesome, although I might prefer that they move Andujar there instead and save the money for other positions. I'd expect them to go in hard for Machado or Bryce, and probably try to re-sign one of Happ/Lynn or possibly go after Corbin. A 2019 lineup as follows would be pretty rad: 1. Hicks CF 2. Judge RF 3. Stanton DH 4. Didi SS 5. Machado 3B 6. Sanchez C 7. Torres 2B 8. Andujar 1B 9. Gardner/C Frazier LF
  15. It's all part of the plan for the greatest division comeback in history!!!
  16. I think it has more to do with Puig's history. He has a reputation for rubbing people the wrong way.
  17. That's the postseason plan. During the regular season AJ Cole, Jonathan Holder, and the current rotating 8th reliever on the roster are highly featured.
  18. I think the ranking is fair. We have tons of highly talented prospects who are Single A or lower. We don't really have many impact prospects at higher levels. There's Sheffield. Mike King has kinda burst onto the scene this year as well. But other than that our top higher level guys have had down years or have been injured.
  19. It's easy to forget that Sevy is only 24 years old since it feels like he's been on the Yankees for quite awhile. Young pitchers experience growing pains. It happens. While it definitely sucks that he's experiencing them at a very inopportune time, there's no question that he's a frontline starter.
  20. Sabathia on the DL for unknown reasons. Brilliant. Edit: right knee inflammation, will likely only miss one start.
  21. Seems like the bullpen has been shittier since the ASB even though it has improved. At least andujar can handle a bat.
  22. I would think so. That .667 is slugging pct not OPS. His OPS in those games in 1.027. We all know he sucks at fielding balls in the dirt. But he is an above average pitch framer and holds runners well with his arm. He'll never be mistaken for a gold glove catcher but it's not like he's a ******** at every aspect of catching.
  23. On the contrary, the Red Sox are one of the few teams he played well against. For the season against Boston (6 games): .286/.360/.667 with 2 HRs and 8 RBIs For his career against Boston (32 games): .280/.320/.598 with 12 HRs and 33 RBIs
  24. I don't see that happening. We're already plugging in Sugar-Free Shane Robinson and Kyle Higashitake Mushroom into our lineup on a regular basis, they can't afford another dead spot in the lineup.
  25. High A Tampa Yankees lost in extra innings while throwing a no hitter. How crazy is that. On the bright side, Deivi Garcia continued to dominate, throwing 7 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 12 Ks
