  1. Yanks also just traded Caleb Frare to the White Sox for $1.5M intl. bonus money. Would have been another Rule 5 victim.
  2. Fortunately the Yankees only have seven games against teams over .500 between now and Sept 1st. They should still be in good shape to win plenty of games without Judge and Sanchez. I just hope the injury list doesn't grow.
  3. It'll be at least 3 weeks before he can swing a bat. So I'd say he's out till early September. Baseball is a cruel game.
  4. He hit .267/.317/.447 with 13 HRs, 63 RBIs, and 37 doubles last year at age 24 while being a utility player (only started 113 games). That was only his second full big league season. Obviously this year has been a drag on his career numbers due to injuries and Andujar's takeover of 3rd base. But he has some potential and he's shown it in his time in the majors.
  5. Drury might not be a rookie but he's only 25 and is essentially a top 10 organizational prospect with big league experience. Mckinney is also a top 20 prospect (actually rated #20) who is big league ready. That seems like a pretty good return for half a year of a #3/4 SP who is 35 years old.
  6. Word is we're getting Happ for Brandon Drury and McKinney. I'm neither thrilled or upset about this trade.
  7. Personally I'd like the Yanks to try for Tyler Skaggs
  8. Yankees still win the division by 6 games
  9. Holder came in after Cessa and gave up a HR. What would the reaction be if Boone pulled Cessa after 5 shutout innings and then Holder gave up that HR? "Ohhh Boone pulls a guy who is pitching a gem, what a f***ing IDIOT!!!". This loss is on the offense. Period. Scoring only 2 runs gives you less than a 10% chance to win any given game.
  10. I liked Nasty Nate on the Yanks. The guy is an enigma though. Similar to Michael Pineda - he can be absolutely dominant one outing and then look like he's thrwoing BP the next. Solid guy for the back of a rotation though.
  11. Sanchez is rated as one of the better pitch framers in baseball. His only weakness behind the plate is blocking balls. And I guess walking slowly to get passed balls.
  12. If the Red Sox finish the season with a .700 winning pct then yeah, no way the Yanks are catching them. But are the Sox really a 113 win caliber team? Maybe the record says so, but it doesn't pass the eye test.
  13. This season's version of Sanchez reminds me of Manny Ramirez's later years when he was a clown in the outfield and on the basepaths. Unfortunately Sanchez doesn't have the .300 BA to go with it.
  14. I'm curious to see if the Red Sox try to schedule Price to miss that series as well
  15. Here's hoping that 2nd half Sonny Gray doesn't completely suck ass
  16. Sensitivity training?? Doesn't sound like a real punishment. Not that I think one is warranted NOW for something tweeted when you're in high school seven years ago. Gurriel was forced to attend this training last year as well because he did the Asian eyes gesture after hitting a HR off of Darvish, so I guess this isn't unprecedented.
  17. Not to start an argument but I disagree, range is his biggest area of concern. Sure he makes some rookie mistakes, but so has Gleyber. The difference is that Gleyber also makes tons of difficult plays whereas with Andujar I can't even recall a single good play where he has moved to his right or left. Per Fangraphs, he has a -7.2 UZR but only -0.1 is attributable to errors made. -6.2 of it is due to his range (or lack of range) which is far and away the worst of all MLB third basemen. Per Mike Axisa: "He’s sure-handed, as evidenced by his ranking 8th in converting routine plays at the position per Inside Edge fielding data – but he’s third to last in ‘likely’ plays, and last in plays with ‘even’ odds. And that matches the eye test." I agree with you on his offensive potential, he's a pure hitter with a lot of upside.
  18. Andujar's issue is his range. He's not over there making errors and looking like a dumbass but he doesn't get to a lot of balls that most other third basemen would get to. I don't know if range is something that can improve given time and experience.. but I hope it does.
  19. Natick gone, there goes 60% of all game thread comments.
  20. Because a gassed Kluber is still better than their ML worst bullpen which is without Andrew Milller and has a collective 5.39 ERA.
  21. Greg Bird's last 7 games: .261/.414/.565/.979 with 2 HRs and 11 RBIs Hopefully this isn't just SSS noise. He's still striking out a ton (37.9K% during these 7 games) but his swing and approach have looked a lot better.
  22. Frazier is definitely a bat first OFer. He is pretty raw defensively but has the speed to be an above average corner OFer.
  23. Supposedly the Yankees offer for Machado was Clint Frazier, Erik Swanson, and Chance Adams. Yankees refuse to include Sheffield in any deal for him. I'd rather just wait until 2019 to get Machado.
  24. I would generally agree. BUT Barstool was actually the first one to break news about Stanton and the Yankees before anyone even knew what was going on.
  25. @BarstoolHubbs 12m12 minutes ago More I would say more likely than not the Yankees are landing Machado. I don’t know if it’s today but MY GUY has told me it’s close. Don’t know package Not sure how serious to take this guy.
