  1. What a horrid series book-ended by a pretty fitting finish. However I'm going down on record as saying this will be the absolute low point of the season. Yanks will still advance further in the postseason than Boston, you can put a bookmark next to this one for October. And for those saying the Yankees will be golfing in October, keep dreaming.
  2. Well that certainly was a crushing loss. I would have been better off flicking my ball sac for five hours
  3. The only hat I brought with me was a Yankees hat. At least the seafood was good.
  4. This series sucks. Double so because I've been in Vermont since Thursday and have had to endure tons of jabs from New Englanders
  5. Did they announce this or is this just speculation? I haven't read this anywhere.
  6. Thank goodness we won't be seeing the O's in the postseason
  7. Gray: 2.2 IP, 8 H, 2 BB, 7 ER, 3 K Imagine how bad that could have been if he wasn't facing the worst team in baseball.
  8. In fairness, the O's now have a vaunted lineup after making all of those deadline moves.
  9. Dammit I hate Sunday night games. And based on his history I will be very surprised if Price has a good outing. I believe he was on a roll before his previous start against the Yankees as well. Seems like it's a mental hurdle for him.. but we shall see.
  10. The only reason I would want Sale healthy is so that nobody around here can make excuses when we take the series this weekend
  11. Lots of promise with those guys. The guy who I thought would really shine was Ezequiel Duran, but he's been pretty bad so far. Still tons of time to turn it around though.
  12. And the rich just keep on getting richer baby!
  13. That's right, I always forget there's no more 30 day DL.
  14. I would normally think that this is the Sox giving Sale an extra week of rest without having to sacrifice a spot on the 25 man roster. But no way they would rest him with the Yanks-Sox series coming up unless it's actually an issue. Only 10 day though, doesn't sound serious.
  15. Happ with hand foot and mouth disease. That's pretty random. I had never even heard of it until Thor got it like a week ago. He may miss his start against Boston now. And Sale to the DL too with shoulder inflammation, that's a bit of a shocker. Both illnesses/injuries announced almost back to back of each other.
  16. On a side note, who the hell is going to start for the Rays now that Archer and Eovaldi are gone? Going to need a bullpen day 3 out of every 5 games.
  17. Yankees are very interested in Cameron Maybin, not sure why. I get the need for a depth OFer with Judge being hurt, but Maybin sucks offensively and Shane Robinson is actually a better defender.
  18. Those numbers include JD Martinez's full season stats even though we was DH for about 60% of his games. I mean it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things since the guy is still on your team, but if we're only talking about top outfields then lumping him in there is a little deceptive.
  19. Yanks getting Bautista would feel very wrong.. akin to when we signed Youkilis.
  20. Meh. Depth starter and long relief I guess. At least Austin will get a chance to play
  21. Austin might be gone as well. He's been pulled from today's game.
  22. I believe I was using combined WAR but I could be wrong, I'm kind of an advanced stat noob. But if we're focused on fielding: UZR/150 Betts 16.1 Beni -1.2 JBJ 11.2 Total 26.1 Judge 16.4 Gardner 13.0 Hicks 6.0 Total - 35.4 And I don't know if your OF still does that thing where one person poses while the other two pretend to take pictures, but that was extremely lame
  23. OF WAR Betts - 6.6 Benintendo - 3.4 JBJ - 1.2 Total - 11.2 Judge - 5.3 Gardner - 2.8 Hicks - 3.3 Total - 11.4 However if you throw in Martinez (4.5) vs. Stanton (2.7) then it's not very close.
  24. Yanks started off with $4.98M, added $1.5M with Frare deal and $1M with the Shreve deal, so I believe it's $7.48M available. There could have been other smaller transactions throughout the year that I'm not accounting for, but that's probably the ballpark number.
