  1. On a side note, who the hell is going to start for the Rays now that Archer and Eovaldi are gone? Going to need a bullpen day 3 out of every 5 games.
  2. Yankees are very interested in Cameron Maybin, not sure why. I get the need for a depth OFer with Judge being hurt, but Maybin sucks offensively and Shane Robinson is actually a better defender.
  3. Those numbers include JD Martinez's full season stats even though we was DH for about 60% of his games. I mean it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things since the guy is still on your team, but if we're only talking about top outfields then lumping him in there is a little deceptive.
  4. Yanks getting Bautista would feel very wrong.. akin to when we signed Youkilis.
  5. Meh. Depth starter and long relief I guess. At least Austin will get a chance to play
  6. Austin might be gone as well. He's been pulled from today's game.
  7. I believe I was using combined WAR but I could be wrong, I'm kind of an advanced stat noob. But if we're focused on fielding: UZR/150 Betts 16.1 Beni -1.2 JBJ 11.2 Total 26.1 Judge 16.4 Gardner 13.0 Hicks 6.0 Total - 35.4 And I don't know if your OF still does that thing where one person poses while the other two pretend to take pictures, but that was extremely lame
  8. OF WAR Betts - 6.6 Benintendo - 3.4 JBJ - 1.2 Total - 11.2 Judge - 5.3 Gardner - 2.8 Hicks - 3.3 Total - 11.4 However if you throw in Martinez (4.5) vs. Stanton (2.7) then it's not very close.
  9. Yanks started off with $4.98M, added $1.5M with Frare deal and $1M with the Shreve deal, so I believe it's $7.48M available. There could have been other smaller transactions throughout the year that I'm not accounting for, but that's probably the ballpark number.
  10. Yanks also just traded Caleb Frare to the White Sox for $1.5M intl. bonus money. Would have been another Rule 5 victim.
  11. Fortunately the Yankees only have seven games against teams over .500 between now and Sept 1st. They should still be in good shape to win plenty of games without Judge and Sanchez. I just hope the injury list doesn't grow.
  12. It'll be at least 3 weeks before he can swing a bat. So I'd say he's out till early September. Baseball is a cruel game.
  13. He hit .267/.317/.447 with 13 HRs, 63 RBIs, and 37 doubles last year at age 24 while being a utility player (only started 113 games). That was only his second full big league season. Obviously this year has been a drag on his career numbers due to injuries and Andujar's takeover of 3rd base. But he has some potential and he's shown it in his time in the majors.
  14. Drury might not be a rookie but he's only 25 and is essentially a top 10 organizational prospect with big league experience. Mckinney is also a top 20 prospect (actually rated #20) who is big league ready. That seems like a pretty good return for half a year of a #3/4 SP who is 35 years old.
  15. Word is we're getting Happ for Brandon Drury and McKinney. I'm neither thrilled or upset about this trade.
  16. Personally I'd like the Yanks to try for Tyler Skaggs
  17. Yankees still win the division by 6 games
  18. Holder came in after Cessa and gave up a HR. What would the reaction be if Boone pulled Cessa after 5 shutout innings and then Holder gave up that HR? "Ohhh Boone pulls a guy who is pitching a gem, what a f***ing IDIOT!!!". This loss is on the offense. Period. Scoring only 2 runs gives you less than a 10% chance to win any given game.
  19. I liked Nasty Nate on the Yanks. The guy is an enigma though. Similar to Michael Pineda - he can be absolutely dominant one outing and then look like he's thrwoing BP the next. Solid guy for the back of a rotation though.
  20. Sanchez is rated as one of the better pitch framers in baseball. His only weakness behind the plate is blocking balls. And I guess walking slowly to get passed balls.
  21. If the Red Sox finish the season with a .700 winning pct then yeah, no way the Yanks are catching them. But are the Sox really a 113 win caliber team? Maybe the record says so, but it doesn't pass the eye test.
  22. This season's version of Sanchez reminds me of Manny Ramirez's later years when he was a clown in the outfield and on the basepaths. Unfortunately Sanchez doesn't have the .300 BA to go with it.
  23. I'm curious to see if the Red Sox try to schedule Price to miss that series as well
  24. Here's hoping that 2nd half Sonny Gray doesn't completely suck ass
