  1. I like that Stanton is moved up in the order today. Judge needs to step up though, he's missed too many meatballs. Even his sac fly yesterday was on a flat middle middle pitch that he should have hammered. And obviously the pitching can't give up another 8 runs. I'm hopeful that we win the next two but if not it was a sorta kinda fun season, at least it has provided a distraction.
  2. Backs against the wall and we're stuck starting Monty. It's not what you want. He does have the potential to throw a gem though, seems like his starts were either really good or really bad this season.
  3. At least we won't have to watch CB Bucknor behind the plate again this series.
  4. My expectation is the Yanks sweep the Rays. Anything less will be less.
  5. Looked off today, had bad command and his secondary pitches were flat. That Sox rookie looked pretty good though. Not a super hard thrower but everything he threw had movement and he seemed to have good command. I'm guessing we'll be seeing both of these pitchers quite a bit on the future.
  6. Nice to see him step up when given the opportunity. Good timing too since Gardy will be in a retirement home after this season.
  7. Anything can happen in a 3 game series and there will most definitely be some upsets in the first round based on probability. Yanks could get knocked out sure, but no use worrying about it. I'm just glad they're not playing like dogshit anymore.
  8. Doesn't sound like you hate accusing players without evidence
  9. Bahaha grand slam to top off that inning. At least they eliminated all hope of winning the game. Seriously they could've put a position player in to pitch that inning and they would've gotten more outs than Green/Otto. They s*** the bed x1000
  10. I'm at least enjoying how inventive they've been in all their losses
  11. How do Orioles fans put up with this type of play for a full season
  12. This team is trash right now. I know they're not actually as bad as they've looked over the past couple of weeks, but there's not much time to get back on track.
  13. Urshela & Loaisaga to the IL. Bone spurs in his right elbow for Gio so who knows how long that keeps him out, and non-COVID illness for Lasgana so should be just a 10-day stint. On a positive note the Packers should have a good season unless Rodgers gets mauled in Week 1 like he does every season.
  14. If the Yanks don't win these next two games against the Rays then any chance of winning the East is pretty much shot. And even if they do win these two the odds are still pretty low. In a long season this is probably just a short blip (Yanks started out with almost the same record last year and finished with 103 wins) but with only a month of season left they can't keep playing like this with the hope of things turning around once guys get healthy. Before they know it they'll be at .500 and having to play a best of 3 series in the Trop or Oakland where they have historically sucked ass.
  15. I still think Cashman is one of the best GMs in baseball. In a short season like this a losing streak is magnified, but really it's just been one bad week of play. A week and a half ago the Yanks had the best record in baseball.
  16. The Yankees got walked off at their own stadium, seems fitting given the state of the team.
  17. Geez the Yanks look super rusty. This rookie is leaving tons of pitches over the plate but our lineup hasn't even been able to muster a hit or even a hard hit ball. At this point I'm just hoping we don't get no-hit.
  18. That's mostly due to going 1-6 against the Rays. Majority of those games were tied or within a run late in the game, but the Yanks found ways to botch winnable games (as opposed to last season when they seemingly won every close game against the Rays). Obviously the injuries don't help, and the lack of a clear #2 behind Cole is something they'll need to address, but I think they're in as good of a position to win the WS as any team (outside of the dodgers, and assuming they're mostly healthy by playoffs which seems iffy given how this season has played out so far).
  19. It's 2019 all over again. Now with bonus quarantine.
  20. I think whoever wins the West will probably win the Finals. I could see Boston pulling an upset over the Raptors, and maybe Boston'll get lucky and the Bucks will get bounced before they get back into form, so then the Celts would end up playing the Heat or Pacers in order to make the Finals.
  21. Win a damn game against those clown ass Rays already. *checks who is starting for the Sox and Rays Eh nevermind.
  22. Well at least Ellsbury is finally gonna be off our books I still think Stanton will have a productive Yankees career, but I don't think he'll ever live up to that contract.
  23. That past Rays-Yanks series really pissed me off. Feels weird to root for the Sox but I hope your guys pound em.
  24. Not sure you can criticize leaving Paxton in to start the 7th. He was mowing down the Rays up until that point (6 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 11K) and was only at 70-something pitches. The bullpen was gassed from all of those doubleheaders and games where our pitchers couldn't even go 4 innings so it made sense to try and squeeze one more inning from Paxton. After the 2 run HR I would've considered taking him out, but the next guy was a lefty so Paxton had the matchup advantage. Unfortunately it didn't work out. If he brings in Holder there but he doesn't get the job done then you'd be saying Boone is an idiot for taking out a left handed pitcher vs a left handed batter. Hindsight is 20/20.
  25. Watch them sweep the O's
