  1. How do Orioles fans put up with this type of play for a full season
  2. This team is trash right now. I know they're not actually as bad as they've looked over the past couple of weeks, but there's not much time to get back on track.
  3. Urshela & Loaisaga to the IL. Bone spurs in his right elbow for Gio so who knows how long that keeps him out, and non-COVID illness for Lasgana so should be just a 10-day stint. On a positive note the Packers should have a good season unless Rodgers gets mauled in Week 1 like he does every season.
  4. If the Yanks don't win these next two games against the Rays then any chance of winning the East is pretty much shot. And even if they do win these two the odds are still pretty low. In a long season this is probably just a short blip (Yanks started out with almost the same record last year and finished with 103 wins) but with only a month of season left they can't keep playing like this with the hope of things turning around once guys get healthy. Before they know it they'll be at .500 and having to play a best of 3 series in the Trop or Oakland where they have historically sucked ass.
  5. I still think Cashman is one of the best GMs in baseball. In a short season like this a losing streak is magnified, but really it's just been one bad week of play. A week and a half ago the Yanks had the best record in baseball.
  6. The Yankees got walked off at their own stadium, seems fitting given the state of the team.
  7. Geez the Yanks look super rusty. This rookie is leaving tons of pitches over the plate but our lineup hasn't even been able to muster a hit or even a hard hit ball. At this point I'm just hoping we don't get no-hit.
  8. That's mostly due to going 1-6 against the Rays. Majority of those games were tied or within a run late in the game, but the Yanks found ways to botch winnable games (as opposed to last season when they seemingly won every close game against the Rays). Obviously the injuries don't help, and the lack of a clear #2 behind Cole is something they'll need to address, but I think they're in as good of a position to win the WS as any team (outside of the dodgers, and assuming they're mostly healthy by playoffs which seems iffy given how this season has played out so far).
  9. It's 2019 all over again. Now with bonus quarantine.
  10. I think whoever wins the West will probably win the Finals. I could see Boston pulling an upset over the Raptors, and maybe Boston'll get lucky and the Bucks will get bounced before they get back into form, so then the Celts would end up playing the Heat or Pacers in order to make the Finals.
  11. Win a damn game against those clown ass Rays already. *checks who is starting for the Sox and Rays Eh nevermind.
  12. Well at least Ellsbury is finally gonna be off our books I still think Stanton will have a productive Yankees career, but I don't think he'll ever live up to that contract.
  13. That past Rays-Yanks series really pissed me off. Feels weird to root for the Sox but I hope your guys pound em.
  14. Not sure you can criticize leaving Paxton in to start the 7th. He was mowing down the Rays up until that point (6 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 11K) and was only at 70-something pitches. The bullpen was gassed from all of those doubleheaders and games where our pitchers couldn't even go 4 innings so it made sense to try and squeeze one more inning from Paxton. After the 2 run HR I would've considered taking him out, but the next guy was a lefty so Paxton had the matchup advantage. Unfortunately it didn't work out. If he brings in Holder there but he doesn't get the job done then you'd be saying Boone is an idiot for taking out a left handed pitcher vs a left handed batter. Hindsight is 20/20.
  15. Watch them sweep the O's
  16. I feel like Moreland gets off to a hot start every year, at which point you guys all love him. But by the end of the year you're usually calling him garbage. Maybe this mini season will change that though!
  17. If I had to guess he probably opted out, but decided not to tell anyone. It's a very Mets thing to happen.
  18. Weber doesn't look bad. Lots of movement on all of his pitches, and he seems to be hitting his spots. Where did he come from?
  19. Doesn't sound good but hopefully he can avoid surgery. Sucks either way
  20. If this season does somehow get played out, I wonder if they even bother scheduling make-up games since it seems like game postponements could happen often. In the end they should probably just seed everyone by winning percentage.
  21. It probably would, yes. But the MLBPA could have chosen not to play this season, or refused to play without higher safety standards being set. Ultimately they wanted to play despite the risks and even though everyone knew there was a real possibility of this exact scenario taking place. Now it has happened and whatever the plan was for this situation should be put into effect.
  22. Didn't they create the 30 man taxi squad for this situation? 10 players can't play, bring up 10 scrubs. There probably won't be much of a drop-off for the Marlins anyway.
  23. Glad they pulled Corbin at only 75 pitches, now we have a chance
  24. MLB.com had a contest where you pick the winner of every game on opening day. 2 for 2 so far. I need the O's to win (along with 12 other random teams) in order to possibly win like $23. And I did not take the O's because I thought they were the better team but rather because there was no way all the favorites would win their opening game.
