15 baserunners and only 3 runs. Very unclutch ABs by everyone except Urshela and Higgy. Gleyber booting more routine plays at short. 3 and a half hours wasted.
He was DFA'd for a reason. The Yanks gave away two actual prospects (Stowers and Cabello) for him so they must like him a lot more than we do. He's only 27 so maybe they think he can be the next revival project like Hicks/Gio?
Bit of an overreaction from one game. And I never get the fascination that relying on HRs to score is some kind of curse. The teams who win the World Series are consistently near the top of the league in home runs. If it's a contact issue, then sure the Yankees strike out a bunch but that's a league wide issue. Last season the Yankees were 10th in K% (with 1st being the best/lowest) and 13th in 2019, so it's not like they're especially bad. 10th inning aside because that guy the Jays brought in was unhittable yesterday, but during the 7th and 9th innings the Yankees put the ball in play when they needed to but got a double play and a force out at home. Sometime s***** outcomes happen. They went 0-10 with RISP yesterday and were still able to get to extra innings. I don't expect them to bat .000 in those situations forever.
Nice intro. I'm also pumped for this season, and not just for the Yanks. But also to stalk these boards after bullpen implosions, bad managerial decisions, and Mookie displacement syndrome
Looking forward to another year of it all, best of luck.
Agree about Wade and King, but Nelson is a starter converted to a reliever so can't really read into his numbers while starting. He would probably be a top 3 bullpen option for the Sox 😁
German's stuff has been looking really good. Has not allowed a run yet over a few appearances and has 13Ks over 9 innings.
Do they give comeback player of the year awards after returning from domestic violence suspension??
Will need surgery to remove a bone spur in his elbow. They say recovery is about a month, but I would bet we don't see him pitching on the big league team until May.
Opens up the door for our under the radar lefty, Luetge, who has been pretty dominant this spring (for whatever that's worth).
You didn't get the memo guy? We're the best team since the 98 Yankees. The Jays will be renamed the Hens by end of season, and the Rays will trade away everyone but Wander Franco in hopes of fielding the first team with a payroll under one million dollars.
