  1. Needed a good laugh after tonight's drubbing, thanks. I do like your optimism though.
  2. It's possible, and we'll be able to evaluate that in a couple of months. Right now all we can do is make guesses based on past and recent performances.
  3. It's still too early to write off any team. Boston's pitching might have been overperforming early on but their lineup is legit. Do I think they're a top team? No. Maybe a fringe wild card team if they continue to hit and their pitching doesn't totally suck. But time will prove that out. It usually takes until around the All-Star break to see who the real contenders are.
  4. Yep, trade didn't work out for either of us
  5. Kaprielian making his first career start. I was big on him when he was with the Yankees and kinda bummed when he got traded, but injuries really derailed his career. Good to see him finally get a shot.
  6. Good defensive game for Sanchez too. Big play throwing out a runner off a wild pitch in the 9th. No way Higgy has the arm to make that play. Monty also had his best outing of the season with Sanchez calling the game, does that make him his personal catcher?! Being serious though, Sanchez is trash most days but then sucks you back in with his potential when he has games like this.
  7. 1 and a half now baby
  8. I guess that's what I get for posting stats on how great the bullpen has been.
  9. Green looked off but that was a great swing by Altuve. That pitch was at his eye level and he still crushed it.
  10. Here is a recent photo of Chris Sale, he seems to have put on a few pounds since last year
  11. German did enough to keep the game manageable. I'd take 3 runs over 5 innings from my #5 starter against the Astros lineup everyday. The bullpen was stellar yet again and kept the Astros at 3 runs. With Britton and O'Day out the depth of the bullpen has really shined this first month. Chapman: 10.0 IP, 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP, 24 K Green: 17.2 IP, 1.02 ERA, 0.62 WHIP, 18 K Loaisiga: 17.1 IP, 1.04 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 17 K Luetge: 16.2 IP, 3.78 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 17 K Cessa: 12.2 IP, 1.42 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 17 K King: 11.0 IP, 0.00 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, 9 K O'Day (injured): 9.0 IP, 3.00 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 9 K That just leaves Wilson who has looked shaky since coming off the IL (6.2 IP, 5.40 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, 6 K) and Nick Nelson who was demoted because he's addicted to throwing his pitches middle-middle (8.1 IP, 9.72 ERA, 1.92 WHIP, 15 K).
  12. I think it looked worse than it actually was just because Odor was running full speed. Wasn't a head on collision like in the old days.
  13. Been a long time since I've heard that kind of energy at any sporting event. Should be a fun, tense, and stressful game. Good start so far. Up 1, with 2 men on and nobody out.
  14. Rumor has it that the Yankees are one of Aaron Rodgers' top three trade destinations
  15. I know fans shouldn't throw things onto the field for player safety, but I'd love to see a bunch of garbage cans thrown onto the field away from the players.
  16. So we should actually be scoring runs while he is on the mound. The offense lets us down again.
  17. s***** game with s***** luck. Go ahead run doesn't score in the 9th because the ball bounces over the wall, then lose in extras. Biggest take away for me is how horrible Hicks looks this season. He isn't hitting at all or making good contact, fielding is sloppy/making bad reads/slow for a CF, and his arm is a shell of what it used to be. That third O's run doesn't score against 90% of CFers. His throw home to end the game was weak and offline despite being able to settle under the ball. It's not like we have any better option for CF but at some point he has to produce, otherwise I'd just call up Florial. I'm sure he could hit .140 too, but at least play good defense.
  18. Can never believe a word the Yankees say about injuries. They initially said they were sitting Judge yesterday just as a routine off day, then thye said he was a little sore but nothing to worry about. And now he's out again. Judge is awesome (when he plays) but I have a hard time seeing us re-signing him to the large contract that he'll probably demand.
  19. Nice to see German put together back to back quality starts. Granted, they were against the punchless Guardians and the O's. His next start is against Houston so we'll see how he performs against a real lineup. But you can see the rotation starting to take form and pitch deeper into games. Hopefully it lasts.
  20. Bahaha Degrom loses again. Has anybody ever been let down by his team more than that guy?
  21. Lol you literally said they should send Gleyber down to the minors 12 hours ago
  22. No chance that's happening. Anyway he's starting to hit a little better, though he still hasn't found his power: last 7 games .308/.379/.346
  23. Shows what you know! Tauchman traded for a reliever with a career -0.2 WAR. Let the turnaround commence.
