  1. Guess you guys will have to wait a while to start calling him The Franchyse
  2. Schmidt is the first to fall. Out a month with an elbow strain, hopefully doesn't turn into the usual narrative, where after four weeks they announce he needs TJS. Puts more pressure on German (if he doesn't get released) and Deivi.
  3. I liked mine better. No way I'm writing a fluff piece for your guys
  4. Sale: can't pitch on windy days otherwise he might blow away Richards: hasn't pitched a full season since his tee-ball league Eovaldi: team needs to carry extra scotch tape to keep his elbow attached ERod: I hear COVID affects pitcher spin rates by up to 30% Pivetta: moderate chance to make the AAA rotation Perez: due for a breakout season after pitching to an almost 5 ERA over 9 seasons Houck: promising prospect, Bloom will likely trade for a backup outfielder Whitlock: not good enough to make yankees 40 man roster, likely #3 starter for Sox Mata: who??
  5. Cole: due to regress Taillon: broken Kluber: old and broken Montgomery: big dork German: needs to beat his wife in order to be good Garcia: little person Schmidt: could be good in 2024
  6. The Yankees are keeping under the luxury tax threshold, everyone and their mama knows that. Anyway I don't think Bauer is a $30M/yr pitcher. Guy had one dominant season in 2018. Sure he looked great last season in what, only 11 starts? He wasn't good in 2019, and prior to 2018 he consistently pitched to a middling 4 ERA.
  7. That Jays lineup is loaded from top to bottom. Here's hoping their pitchers are a bunch of garbage cans, otherwise they could be beating all our asses this season.
  8. I saw German pitch a couple of times and I liked what I saw. Obviously good velocity, attacks the zone, and had decent command. He had a down year last season (or whenever they last played baseball) because of a shoulder issue, but I think he has the floor of a middle relief guy, and could potentially be a 4th or 5th starter if he develops another pitch, or a back-end reliever.
  9. Not a fan of this deal. Our rotation beyond Cole is just a bunch of question marks, and now Kluber is one more.
  10. We'll see if it ends up being worse than signing Ellsbury. At least Stanton is good when he plays, whereas Ells was only good his first year. But health is a skill, and Stanton don't have it. Stanton in 3 seasons: 199 G, .266/.352/.506, 5.1 total WAR (Postseason 17 G, .267/.352/.683) Smellsbury in first 3 seasons: 408 G, .279/.326/.382, 6.5 total WAR (Postseason 7 G, .000/.153/.000)
  11. But.. but.. but have you seen his exit velocity?!
  12. Whatever happens in today's Rays-Asstros I'm going to enjoy making fun of the loser and be mad that the winner is in the WS
  13. Agreed. Generally you would win about 90% of games where you only allow 2 runs. Offense was non existent in the biggest game of the year.
  14. f*** the Rays. Yet I will probably root for them over the Asstros
  15. My guess is we'll see some mix of Cole/Garcia tomorrow with Britton and Chapman hopefully closing it out
  16. I like that Stanton is moved up in the order today. Judge needs to step up though, he's missed too many meatballs. Even his sac fly yesterday was on a flat middle middle pitch that he should have hammered. And obviously the pitching can't give up another 8 runs. I'm hopeful that we win the next two but if not it was a sorta kinda fun season, at least it has provided a distraction.
  17. Backs against the wall and we're stuck starting Monty. It's not what you want. He does have the potential to throw a gem though, seems like his starts were either really good or really bad this season.
  18. At least we won't have to watch CB Bucknor behind the plate again this series.
  19. My expectation is the Yanks sweep the Rays. Anything less will be less.
  20. Looked off today, had bad command and his secondary pitches were flat. That Sox rookie looked pretty good though. Not a super hard thrower but everything he threw had movement and he seemed to have good command. I'm guessing we'll be seeing both of these pitchers quite a bit on the future.
  21. Nice to see him step up when given the opportunity. Good timing too since Gardy will be in a retirement home after this season.
  22. Anything can happen in a 3 game series and there will most definitely be some upsets in the first round based on probability. Yanks could get knocked out sure, but no use worrying about it. I'm just glad they're not playing like dogshit anymore.
  23. Doesn't sound like you hate accusing players without evidence
  24. Bahaha grand slam to top off that inning. At least they eliminated all hope of winning the game. Seriously they could've put a position player in to pitch that inning and they would've gotten more outs than Green/Otto. They s*** the bed x1000
  25. I'm at least enjoying how inventive they've been in all their losses
