  1. I just hope Fitts is not out for extended period.
  2. It's time to bring up Anthony. There's at most 170 days left this season. He can not accrue 172 days he needs to earn a year's service time. We can control him for 6 years and 170 days. I just don't see anyway he's NOT better offensively than Rafael.
  3. Great trade and the extension by Breslow on Crochet. We'll be alright as long as our starting pitching holds up.
  4. This is why you think about trading THAT guy with what looks like a career best year. Especially when you have #2 prospect coming up. It's taking me 60 years but good starting pitchers win big games. Probably unfortunate that we didn't trade Casas. Isn't Roman Anthony 6-3 or something? How hard can it be for him to play 1B and all 3 OF positions?
  5. Great game. It only took our ace to pitch 1 hitter, use up our #2 reliever and pitch our closer for 4th time in 5 days. This against 125 game losing team. Great job boys. This team is bailed out only by the Green Monster. This is not a good road team.
  6. We need this and our pitching staff should line up well for this. Crochet starting, hopefully he'll go 7 Whitlock, has two days rest, ready to go, threw 31 pitches on Thursday so he may only be good for one inning Weissert hasn't pitched since Tuesday Wilson only threw 4 pitches yesterday. I think Chapman go back to back days, but this will be his 4th outing in 5 days, maybe not. It would be ideal to have Whitlock for the 9th inning to close.
  7. Finally, Cora flips Abreu and Casas in batting order. He's not always smart as many think.
  8. 9 pitch inning for Slaten. Despite his high ERA, he pitched well 5 out of the 6 games he's come in.
  9. It doesn't matter who we play nor where we play, we can lose them very easily.
  10. We have 7 out of 9 starting today all hitting above .700 OPS and Rafaela goes 2-3, but we can only score 2 runs. Refsnyder is 0-4 today with 2 strikeouts.
  11. What the hell? I am blacked out today. What happened.?
  12. He came over from the Yankees for Verdugo. He had a very good year pitching in AAA. started 23 games, going at least 5+ innings 15 times. Pitched 116 innings and struck out 111. He also started 4 times for the Red Sox in September call up, pitching 18+ innings without giving up an earned run. I have him ahead of Kutter.
  13. It's really time to bring up Roman Anthony. He makes HARD contacts. Sure Rafaela can play if we have Casas and Wong (hitting like he did in 2024). Right now there's too many black holes to carry him.
  14. I have a bad habit putting a player in my dog house. Those of you follow me, you know how obnoxious I was with first with Kike leading off, then playing Kike at short. I think my expectation of Story was too high and I tend to rag on him quite a bit. Just a bad personality trait that I have.....
  15. A step in the right direction. This is where I'll have issues with Cora. Under this scenario, Story is the worst hitter. Cora's unwillingness to drop Story in the order goes back to Cora's reluctance not to play Kike at short. I don't give damn about loyalty. Do what's best for the team.
  16. What exactly are we waiting for? Story to become something he hasn't been? Mayer definitely has more upside than Story. We are better off going with what our ultimate lineup will end up, that's probably Mayer in place of Story and Anthony in place of Rafaela (make him a super utility guy). I will bet that Mayer/Anthony combo will have more impactful hitting lines than Story/Rafaela. We made the bold and right move with Devers to DH and shelving $18M and Yoshida off the field. Next on the cross hair is deep dive into Casas. I'm just not sure he'll ever get over the San Francisco fog that sits between the ears. Obviously we don't have a replacement for Casas at this time.
  17. You are right. Just frustrated. He was so close to being so good.
  18. Fitts needs to challenge the hitters. He is up 0-2 on hitters, one he walks and the other gets a hit on 3-2 count. Just because you are up 0-2 doesn't mean you screw around and get to a 3-2 count. Game over. I despise nibblers. If you're too much of a whimp to challenge the hitter, go find another job.
  19. I believe their tax will be around $150M. It was $100M last year and their payroll went up by $50M which will require 110% tax. I count 10 teams with luxury tax payroll below $150M. Unreal. Tampa Bay says DO MO ARIGATO.
  20. $403M Dodgers $328M Mets $310M Yankees $309M Phillies $269M Padres Dodgers' luxury tax payroll is just insane!
  21. As I've said previously, this team will score runs at Fenway. Pitching will have to get us the wins on the road.
  22. It was a tough pop up for Campbell. I'm just glad he didn't get hurt.
