  1. Giolito needs to average slightly over 5 1/3 innings over projected, remaining 22 starts to trigger the magic 140 innings to get the $14M extension. I'm not sure if he can do much better than that elsewhere.
  2. “I think they understand the frustrations,” he said. “I haven’t been a guy who has been taken out of a game in six years, and now, it has happened back-to-back games. I don’t like that. But, I understand it. I feel like I haven’t been pitching enough. If you want me to be me, I’ve got to pitch. I’ll rust before I wear out, and that’s something.” Perhaps Cora should communicate with his projected closer. And I though that was Cora's strength. You know, being a player's coach.
  3. Campbell/Mayer combo is better than Sogard/Campbell. We get 2 of the 3 Sox prospects on board. Sogard does not have a future in Sox organization.
  4. If Campbell moves to 1B, Mayer is called up to play 2B. If Story is injured or simply unproductive, Rafaela can play short and Anthony in left. Duran moves to CF. You rotate Refsnyder to fill in for Anthony and Abreu. Anthony can play two out of three games, at least. Then it becomes a matter of who hits lefties better, Abreu or Anthony. This is our best balanced lineup with what we have. Great for the fan base. Our top 3 prospects are now playing in the majors. We got a bonus pickup with our catching acquisition from the Yankees. Bregman and Devers are hot. Duran is getting hot as he did last year.
  5. Hendriks not happy with Cora. He complains there's no pattern to his appearances. This is the guy that was suppose to be our closer. Go figure. Looks like he won't be pitching for the Sox in 2026 ($12M) 2 years/$10M (2024-25), plus 2026 mutual option signed by Boston as a free agent 2/19/24 24:$2M, 25:$6M, 26:$12M mutual option ($2M buyout) 2025 performance bonuses: $250,000 each for 30, 35, 40, 45 innings pitched. $500,000 each for 50, 55, 60, 65 IP. $1M each for 70, 75 IP $1M each for 45, 50, 55 60, 65 games finished
  6. At the least, we can add an extra pitcher. We always have Newcomb to throw 200 pitches in a losing cause. Plus extra 1B work for Campbell. Sooner he gets 1B down, sooner Mayer will be promoted. And if Story gets, Anthony will be promoted.
  7. I think we need a reset. I hope it's postponed.
  8. Crochet will be happy pitching in meaningless games in September. "Thanks for saving me for this."
  9. Cora "We have to protect our players. It's a long season. He's thrown many pitches over last few starts. Our bullpen just has to executer better." Is that all you got?
  10. Cora just wasted 85 pitch effort from Crochet. Crochet is pissed. Hendriks loads the bases with no out. What the hell is Cora thinking. I wished he was still at his daughter's graduation. He sucks.
  11. Why is Crochet coming out with 85 pitches? Cora does what he always does. Over manage.
  12. What you say is absolutely correct. My only point is why doesn't Brez say it and not give us the BS about he is still 'learning' in AAA. His main reason for staying in AAA is not PERFORMANCE related.
  13. Here's list of Baseball Prospects' top hitting prospects. They were all All-Stars, some having immediate success. Notice Anthony has far more AAA PA than many on this list. I love what Brez has done but quit the BS about he is still 'learning'. Remember, Anthony's AAA manager said he has NOTHING more to learn at the AAA level. If I'm the owner, I would tell him to promote Anthony or go find another job.
  14. So our rotation now is Crochet-Giolito-Bello-Dobbins-Buehler. Is Fitts coming back soon?
  15. As shine for Campbell has worn off a bit, we are saved by our rookie catcher. He now has the second best OPS with catchers with 100+ at bats in AL, .812. He's only second to the Seattle catcher Cal Raleigh. Interesting that they share a same birthday, 11/26 two years apart. His development has been fun to watch. Narvaez, Campbell, Rafaela, Abreu, Mayer and Anthony. Our future. Throw in Devers, Bregman and Duran, we should score runs.
  16. Team's won-lost record by starters. I always liked looking at this. I can't remember what year it was but a starter received inordinate amount of run support and the team won all the time. Can't remember who it was. 6-4 Crochet 6-1 Buehler 4-2 Bello 3-3 Dobbins 2-2 Giolito 2-3 Newcomb 2-7 Houck It would be interesting to see blown saves into this table.
  17. Can Chapman go 3 straight games? He threw 7 pitches on Monday and 6 pitches last night.
  18. How then do you evaluate Cora? Or any manager for that matter. If there are no criteria, then what that tells me is that managers are overrated. Hell I can fill out a lineup as and come up with pitching/hitting match ups if I had the analysis sheet in front of me. Brez should just buy an AI.
  19. Burdi, Bernardino, Whitlock and Hendriks all ready to pitch out of the bullpen. Chapman only threw 7 pitches last night.
  20. I just hate watching Bello pitch....pretty much the bottom line. There should be a betting line for 75 pitches over and under going into the 4th inning for Bello. That would be the only way I'd enjoy watching him pitch these days. His though process is I'm okay because I still have chance to turn a double play and get out of this.
  21. Dobbins has been told NOT to pace himself. Throw as hard as he can from pitch 1. Don't expect to last anymore than he did today. At least that's what I heard during the telecast. They want him pitching around 95-97 versus 93-95.
  22. Quit making fun of Rafaela. His batting AVG and OPS is higher than Story's. And Story is still afforded #5 spot in the lineup.
