  1. It appears we have 3 solid starters right now in Crochet, Buehler and Bello. Houck is trending similar to Pivetta three years ago when he ended up in the bullpen. Let's just hope Giolito doesn't take two months to get it right.
  2. We have 3 players hitting over .900 OPS, most in AL East (not counting Refsnyder) Bregman, Abreu, Campbell
  3. What's wrong with the Orioles? Losing 9-0 against the Yankees in the fourth. Ugh They did win yesterday so that's a plus.
  4. Campbell leads Misner of Rays in Rookie of the Year chase, ops of .927 vs .920.
  5. The bullpen looks well rested. Slaten and Chapman available.
  6. At what point do you say enough is enough? What good is it for Mayer to spend more time in AAA? He had a hot spring training. Very slow start at AAA. Now he's become a hitting machine. He certainly can play 2B well enough and also give Story and Bregman some days off to keep them fresh. Sure his bat can cool. So what? It's no different than injured major leaguers going on a rehab assignment. No one pays attention to results. They just want to see Bello, as an example, get to the 5 inning level. Mayer is ready. Hamilton has 2, count them, 2 stolen bases. Sure he maybe more valuable this week if we were in a world series and he had one specific job to do. But this is a regular season. I know I've said Campbell should just stick to 2B. Hell move him to CF some. Get enough bats for Mayer. He is wasting time in AAA. Does it matter if he goes 1-4 or 3-4? He's the same player in AAA.
  7. I like Buehler's attitude. He gets the ball and throws. I see him as a confident pitcher, always attacking. Hey, if money's not objective, why not go 4 years and $80M. He turns 31 in July. Starters and age as of 9/30/25 1 G. Crochet (26) under team control through 2031 2 B. Bello (26) under team control through 2029 plus team option for 2030 3 K Crawford (29) under team control through 2028 4 T Houck (29) under team control through 2027 (no reason to extend him) 5 H Dobbins (26) under team control at least through 2030 6 R Fitts (25) under team control at least through 2030 7 P Sandoval (28 ) under team control through 2026 (may return late 2025) Buehler is not that much older than Tanner Houck. If we extend him, we may be able to sit tight this winter.
  8. AL East OPS>.700 (Qualified Players) 1 Yankees (7) 2 Red Sox (6) plus Refsnyder who leads the team with .967, can he play 1B? 3 Rays (3) 3 Jays (3) 5 Orioles (1) Rafaela is now up to .644. Casas is stuck around .583 (he's just happy when he calls the balls and strikes and the umpire agrees with him) Orioles change out ownership with deeper pockets. New owners then sought advice from John Henry.
  9. We do not have our organization's best 13 position players on our roster right now. I hope we can win with one hand tied behind our back.
  10. Whitlock, Slaten and Chapman all available today. We need Houck to go at least 5 innings today. Got to get the ball to Whitlock for 2.
  11. I believe both Mayer and Anthony should be extended. Thus team control issue may not exist. The goal is to go Campbell route. Not get bogged down in 'getting a deal' by going cheap on our young talent. I would think the extension approach has passed Casas. He bet on himself and he gave himself a crappy hand to work with.
  12. my arbitration years are off.....it starts in 28, 29, 30, 31. I made the same mistake elsewhere earlier.
  13. You are CORRECT MOON. ONLY DIFFERENCE BEING HE'LL HAVE ARBITRATION IN 2027, 2028, 2029 AND 2030. HE'LL FOLLOW THE PATH DURAN IS ON. DURAN ACCUMULATED 155 DAYS, NOT ENOUGH TO GAIN 1 YEAR OF SERVICE TIME. DON'T YOU TRUST ME? If he has a great year and wins an award to lose one year of eligibility, it's great for the Red Sox season. Probably means we're in the playoffs.
  14. It's not totally on DHam. Precisely because Duran, Casas and Devers are all struggling to a degree that you end up evaluating DHam. If the aforementioned three amigos were playing up to their norm, we wouldn't be talking about DHam.
  15. I get it that it's a small sample size, but Hamilton needs to play every day in AAA to get his bat going. I believe he has an option left. Look he is not Devers, nor Casas that we toss long leash to. We need another spark in the lineup. Bring up Mayer. He's hot right now. Hell exchange Roman Anthony for Rafaela. Guerrero gave us a lift today. His stuff works in the majors. Small things add up. Hamilton is not getting the job done.
  16. Maybe he can become another trading piece with a team in dire need of a starter due to injuries.
  17. I did discuss little bit about Romy being more valuable than Hamilton (one of my favorites) mainly because he can play 1B but he's athletic enough to play other infield positions. My guess is he can play 3B in addition to 2B. He is starting at 2B today go give Campbell "mental day off" (my guess)
  18. I like splitting Bregman/Story combo by inserting Abreu.
  19. He correctly thinks accumulating plethora of young talent will give him more options with the roster. Easier said than done but he's doing it.
  20. Looking back at the Priester deal with Milwaukee. I see that we receive a Competitive Balance Round A selection in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft, and a player to be named later or cash considerations. That's pretty good. Who would've thought Sox was pitching rich to trade away one of its starters? Looks like we get the 33rd pick. Milwaukee was willing to part with THAT pick because they gained the 32nd pick from the Giants for losing free agent Willy Adames. We also received 75th pick (after round 2) for losing Nick Pivetta.
  21. What I usually hear is that 'mutual option' does not work. Very seldom do both sides agree. If he is has a good year, I'd think he'd look for multiple year deal. If mediocre or bad season, Sox probably wouldn't want him back. It does seem like one must thread the needle.
  22. It would be nice to be able to see the total daily pitches for our bullpen. I like what we have, just add a row for total at the bottom. Is that a big ask?
  23. This looks like a coin flip to me. Slaten, Chapman and Bernardino all available today for relief. Probably Winckowski is first up.
  24. Walker Buehler has mutual option in 2026 for $25M. Would either side accept?
